What a lucky find for me in FiDi. I initially was in disbelief that a decent banh mi would be available outside of the Tenderloin or Little Saigon in the South Bay. I didn't have high expectations because many places downtown that offer banh mi's aren't necessarily good in my opinion. We ordered the pork belly and the lemongrass pork bahn mi's and it was surprisingly delicious. The french roll was crispy, the pork belly was just a bit fatty with a slice of pate. The lemongrass pork was equally flavorful and loaded with pork. Both sandwiches were generous with meat. I noticed that the vegetables on the sandwiches were thinly sliced instead of traditionally shredded. It's pricier than most banh mi's, but for the taste and amount of meat, it was worth the $13 price tag. Other places in the area charge similar range, but does not taste as good. The house made aioli sauce was particularly nice--great flavor. The service was excellent, our sandwiches were made promptly. The only downside is that there is no inside table seating available and is takeout only. I definitely need to come and try their other menu items, but for that, I would prefer the option of inside seating to enjoy. Worth checking out of you are in the area. read more
