    Cam is the man! Very professional service, and was easy to have great conversations with. I've been going to Cam for the past 5 months and don't plan on changing! He's an amazing barber and genuinely loves his clients and those around him. My first hairstyle was a perm and Cam knocked it out the park! So much so that it kept me coming back and following him to whatever barbershop he's working at. This recent cut, I switched it up and got a taper with a side comb at the top. The cut was perfectly contoured to my head & the taper fade was perfect! Kingcutz will have people complimenting you as soon as you step outside. Cam's customer service, cut, and styling got me feeling brand new. Thank you brotha!! Kingcutz is a must!! Go check em out !!

    My man Magellan "The Magician" did it again. Been 7 months since he gave me a sweet undercut, but it was time to get cleaned up again. I picked a photo from his Insta and he delivered. I like that he can do a wide range of hairstyles. This time I went with the medium fade, nothing too extreme and it turned out better than I had hoped. Will be back in another 6-7 months!

    I share this review with the utmost respect and Aloha for this shop. Appearance: 9/10 Clean, classy, great vibe. Love the music and the atmosphere. Although waiting to n the hard bench for an hour and half for my son would be the only negative feedback. Initial Contact: ‍ The Female behind the counter never greeted us. As new potential customers, I would like to to think a "Aloha howzit, how may I help you?!" of some sorts, but nothing. I waited for her to get off her phone and then I asked if they could do something to fix that (pointing to my son's overgrown afroish-Polynesian hair and his messy beard. She looked at him and then asked if we had an appointment. I was not aware I was suppose to make one, but responded that I yelped the place and saw the 4-5 star rating and we wanted to give it a shot. She said ok and walked away....I wasn't sure if that was a no or a "hold on let me see what we can do" so we waited. After my son signed in, she walked out and a local Braddah followed her out. He was a cool Braddah, very polite and had a great vibe. I could see him engaging with my son in conversation and they seem to build a cool repoire. The final product was more than I expected! Great haircut, he trimmed my son's beard, mustache & eye brows. My only regret is not taking a before pic! Overall it was a great experience and all the male Barbers were very professional, looked very skilled at their craft and looked like they enjoy what they do! Maybe Sistah was having a bad day, but if it wasn't for the excellent service and experience my son and I felt from his barber, that would've been our last visit. I even tipped him more than the cost of the cut!! My son will definitely come back. Overall...I would recommend KingCuts!!

    I really didn't want to write a negative review but I am just still shocked at how terrible my hair looks... Service & Cleanliness = 10/10 The place is clean, spacious & cute! The girls were super nice & I enjoyed watching vampire diaries on the tv while getting my hair done! Color = 0/10 I've gotten my hair done before so I know this isn't normal... The moment I saw the finished look, I was already displeased with the color. I asked for a soft blonde balayage & got exactly what I didn't want, a brassy mess... I felt my hair & knew that it was FRIED to a CRISP!!! I really didn't want to complain but my mom saw my hair & her jaw dropped to the ground, she was pissed & told me that I had to tell my stylist about the issues. When I reached out, she was very understanding & told me to come in so that she could tone it again & give me a free keratin wash! Fast-forward to my first wash after the "fixing" appointment -- my hair is still as ugly & frizzy as ever. The staff & customer service was great but I would not come here again. I paid $300 for my hair to go from healthy to a completely dead, brassy, frizzy, & discolored mess. I went to a hair professional for advice & they told me to "ask for a full refund and go to someone who can fix it"... I was looking for a refund policy online but couldn't find one so I am very hesitant to even bring it up.

    CAM CAN CUT! I usually doesn't trust anyone with it comes to my hair except my mom. This one time she was on vacation so I decided to give KingCuts a try. I have my friend Cam working there so I want to show some support. Even though he was my friend, I was still pretty skeptical when it someone else beside my mom cut it but the result was worth it. The result succeed my expectations and I was very pleased. I asked for a specific length and fade and Cam delivered it. If you need a haircut I'd recommend this place and look for Cam if you need some a cut.

    Been looking for a place to take my kids, and found KC here on Yelp. Decided to give this place a try because of all the great reviews I read about Cam and Magellan. I initially wanted to book with Cam but his calendar was full for today (day I wanted). So I booked with Magellan. Side note: my kids never liked any barber shops we tried taking them too, so when they stepped in KC, they immediately felt comfortable (1 star). We didn't get greeted when we first walked I'm but we were acknowledged by two barbers. One went a checked appointment book and told us that our barber will be with us soon. It was 2:20p when we got in, my son's appt was at 2:30p with Magellan so we were pretty good on time. We sat down and first impression of the salon was a chill and relax environment. It was cool and my kids were happy (2nd star). 2:45pm came and I looked around with anticipation wondering when our barber was gonna show up. The one barber that spoke to us was gone, and 2 others were present cutting clients hair. No one said a word. I thought to myself that maybe he's running late and be a little more patient. But then 3p came around and I just felt annoyed. Still noone said anything. Not one of those guys acknowledged the fact that we were still waiting. I got irritated, we had things to do and places to go. So I took matters in my own hands, casually raised my voice and asked "you guys know when Magellan is gonna be here?" The other barbers just looked but didn't quite answer. It seemed like they didn't know how to respond. Next minute here comes the barber that first spoke to us come walking out from behind their back room. Looked at me and said he can help us. I didn't think that he was Magellan until I asked him his name. He responded that he is Magellan. I was annoyed! (minus 1 star). This guy was cutting a client's hair when we first walked in, didn't bother to say who he was and at least let us know that he was with someone. At least acknowledged your scheduled client's. Mind you we were new, potential loyal clients. But the interaction was just not cool (minus 1 star). Alright whatever, let's get this moving. I introduced my 6 year old son who has long thick hair. I asked Magellan if he could do a certain fade with a buzz cut and simple design. I showed him a picture, he said he could. His response sounded confident so I eased up a bit. I also asked if he could clean up the hair line and give my son a trim because he had split ends and I was sure we were on the same page so I let him do his thing. This was my son's first official professional haircut so this experience was a big deal. My son doesn't like much people but he seemed comfortable with Magellan so that was a plus (1 star). Let's come back to Magellan and talk about Shawn. (Name spell check?) Shawn, immediately stepped in and offered to cut my 4 year old's hair. Off the back smile, good vibes, and friendly (1 star). It was also my 2nd son's first pro haircut experience, so this was important. My son was immediately comfortable with Shawn and being that my son is so playful and doesn't know how to sit still for 1 minute, I thought would be a challenge. Shawn was so patient with him and my son liked him. My son was actually sitting still and listening to Shawn so that was huge. Shawn did such a great job. He listened and delivered (3 stars). At the end, my boys looked way better than when they first came in. They liked it so I was happy with that. But if I'm being honest, I felt like my 6 year old cut could have been better. The line up from where his long hair starts was still crooked. And he didn't even trim my son's split ends. I was a bit disappointed (minus 1 star). In the end, the experience my boys had was great overall. If this visit wasn't for my kids, my rating would have been lower. I'm not bashing on Magellan, maybe he had a long day I don't know and don't need to know. But I felt like he could've been more interactive with new and potential loyal clients. He does have skills though. Maybe we caught him on the wrong day but I'm definitely going to give him another chance. And after all that, I still tipped him $20. Only because my son seemed to have had a good experience so I was happy with that. Shawn, tipped him a $20 too. I should have tipped him a little more because my 4 year old had a great time and experience because of him. Next time. I'm definitely gonna give this place another visit and I really hope that this next visit will be better, customer service wise. If you're looking for a place, you just gotta go and experience for yourself. Some days are better than others for people. So hopefully you go on a good day lol. ***Update: I had to change my rating to 3 stars because I forgot about Alyssa. The staff I initially booked with for my 4 year old. She wasn't even there. And I didn't get a notice or an apology. Good thing Shawn was there. I'll review again when and if we decide to go back.

    WARNING: FRESH FADES, CLEAN CUTS, AND AMAZING STYLISTS ONLY! Okay, so were in the middle of a pandemic and you need to clean up your hair game. Look no further. This isn't just your regular run of the mill shops -- they have it all: Barbers with skill (ive been to probably close to a hundred different places on island. Im done looking), stylists with flare, a huge shop that clean and allows for proper social distancing, music you can vibe to, and now....a pool table while you wait? WHAT?!?! SURE, they're competing with others and I have to admit, the competitors have some great barbers, but you can beat King Cuts pricing. Ask for Loi [IG @_phanbarber]-- he has got a major eye for perfection. Everyone is great, ive watched heads leave their seats looking amazing, but Loi is my guy and this dude, I can imagine, in 10 years, will be doing hair for Hollywood. Its nice when I can go in somewhere, be greeted by name, know my hair will come out exactly how I wanted it, everytime.

    I'm about to nab me a papasito with this fresh cut! Barber Magellan always comes in clutch can't wait till he starts coloring hair. Finding parking was a lot easier at his new location. I also got my eyebrows cleaned and 5% off by writing this yelp review. If your thinking of cheating on your barber a cut by Magellan will definitely be worth it ‍

    Clean shop + Great Barbers +Beauty ..... go see Magellan he's been the barber industry for awhile for being a young man. He'll take care of you weather you have short hair or long hair. Design are done with him by request...I personally get a Classic Taper with my hair Slickback with a beard trim.

    Been going to Kelsi for about a year now and she is always does an amazing job with my hair. She is the only one I trust and I always refer her to my friends and family. I love talking story with her and whenever I have questions about tips on how to take care of my hair, she's always happy to answer. They're located in Sand Island now which is closer and more convenient to go to! Plus the space is clean and spacious!

No way you get that in Oakland. Penthouse HNL is on the 3rd floor, smooth check-in, already paid when booked online, super easy. I was a little scared, it was all young "kids" working; I'm not quite looking to be K-pop star. But Jaden had the sensibility to gauge what I was looking for and still bring me up to date a bit. Had my haircut by Azu 4 times now and it never disappoints bros easy to talk to and cuts perfect everytime. The whole barbershop is very welcoming and treats you like a homeboy. Highly recommend it's worth the money.

His next client showed up and he started to get anxious about my asking him for more work. At this point I'm calm and decided I'll be back since he was being difficult. I called the next day came in and in epic fashion he acted surprised and lectured me on telling blended if I'm not happy in the day of the appointment. I tried to no avail so his remark already was red flag 3. He corrected some of it but pretty much made it clear after all this time- he didn't think the cut I chose was "right for me " and he didn't not "feel comfortable "because my head isn't the same shape as the model. lol. Is he for real?!?! Telling people no because it's not what you like is unacceptable. And for 65 bucks inappropriate Here is the picture. I rarely give bad reviews please know I had no choice on this one. I'll come back but not with Micah.

    TL;DR Matthew is…read morefantastic! ----- This review is long overdue. I've been coming to visit Matthew at Mojo for over three years, and it's been the best three years of haircuts in my life. I have never been disappointed, and I am so glad I found Matthew and Mojo. Matthew's process is of the highest quality and is very consistent. Each haircut begins with a confirmation of my desired hairstyle. If I have any questions about barber terminology or potential changes, Matthew always explains things clearly and concisely. He is extremely professional while also being super down to earth. His haircuts are incredibly relaxing. So much so that I often find myself falling asleep in his chair. At the end of each haircut, he provides a handheld mirror to review the haircut and also offers product to style in case I am heading out somewhere after. I cannot recommend Matthew enough!
