Went there for our 45th Anniversary dinner and was never so disappointed in food & also service. My lobster tails were cold, coleslaw tasted sour & the rest of the food was lukewarm. Took my wife and daughter here last night for a Valentines/ birthday dinner. I expected it to be far better than it was based on a recommendation from one of my friends. The Lobster Bisque soup and Cheeesteak eggroll appetizers were good, however it went downhill from there. My wife and daughter both ordered the Filet Mignon. Medium was overcooked for sure. The garlic potato side was very small and not noteworthy. I order the Salmon with the addition of crab. I would have expected the crab to be served on top of the salmon and baked as part of the dish...it was not. The crab was merely placed as a side as you would expect it to come directly out of a can and scooped into a souffle cup! We've been to a lot of very exceptional area restaurants over the years, and this was by far the most disappointing considering the $290 bill for three with no specialty drinks and tip. read more

Went to Kingfish for their Tuesday special - Twin Lobster Tail dinner. The restaurant is nice inside, spacious and well decorated. Our waitress was very pleasant and brought us ice water right away. After starting with some drinks, we ordered the twin tails with roasted green beans and mashed potatoes. The Lobsters were cooked perfectly and very delicious. While service was friendly, my lobster bisque was too thick from overuse of cornstarch. It had a nice flavor, though. The Cobb salad was ok - overdressed with green goddess. The grilled shrimp was also just ok. They offer a meal deal with a choice of appetizer, entree, and dessert for $35, which is a good value. Ambience is classy but casual. First time eating here. First impression walking into smaller open dinning area was its kinda loud in there. Got seated and waitress came over for a drink order in a timely manor. I ordered their version (forget the name) of an old fashion. It was ok and had no lack of bourbon (which I'm fine with) Apps ordered and the calamari was very salty. I could at this point see the place was running at minimum staffing. No one cleaning tables once customers left and our waitress had a larger group and my water sat empty for some time. The food came out and was decent I had the Chilean Sea Bass $41.00. It was a nice size portion and tasted good. I would give the place a second chance but wouldn't rush back. My extended family came here to celebrate my mother In laws 81st birthday. While the food was ok, the service was not. After our order was taken, appetizers came out, then salads. My husband ordered soup, no soup. My brother in law ordered a soup mid meal and it came out immediately. Still no soup for my husband. My entree was given to another diner who had started eating, only to have it taken away and switched. That meal was given to me. The mushrooms that were ordered did not arrive. Sautéed onions (that were not ordered) did. Fries were Brought to the table without any condiments. Steaks were not cooked to ordered preference and were under seasoned. I am confused by the high reviews at this restaurant. I have to dislike it to give 1-2 stars but this 3 star review is being generous. The bar is warm and inviting. The service was fine. I was extremely disappointed when the couldn't make a proper old fashioned. Nothing fancy. It came with more pieces of orange than cocktail that has orange in should and had Marciano cherry. Wtf. So I asked waitress why that cherry, "we ran out of the other cherry". Well then don't try to fake it. Just tell me and then I suppose I can order another drink. Bland ass steamed green beans which they might've microwaved a bag from giants frozen food. With another side of bland plain ass potatoes. If you've ever been to Beck's Land and Sea in Bath then you'll be happy to know that Kingfish is the same owners. The menu is similar and is heavily seafood based with a modern twist. For the nonseafood fans there are steaks and pork chops as well. Inside it looks pretty much the same as it did when it was La Tolteca, maybe a bit brighter. We came on a Tuesday evening and it was not crazy busy so we got to relax and enjoy our meals. Our server Rachel was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is quite large, they have an option to create your own surf and turf combo which is pretty cool, the price varies depending on what you pick. Their wine and martini list is also quite extensive. Tuesday's is sushi night, buy two get one free. Friday's I believe is lobster night, and they have a couple other week day specials. We didn't try the sushi but it looked great. I had the beet salad to start, it was fresh beets, oranges and goat cheese drizzled with balsamic and was delicious. For dinner I had the scallops served over asparagus risotto with shiitake mushroom. It was mouth watering good! Also in our party we had the surf and turf with filet and a lobster tail which reportedly was outstanding and the halibut special which was also a hit. For dessert we all shared the sticky toffee cake with salted caramel ice cream-dangerously good. Overall, I was really impressed with both the food and service. If there was anything I would change it would be the rolls they serve before dinner, they were kind of hard but came with a fabulous apricot butter. Come here, you won't regret it! read more
