The Wooden Match is a cigar bar & grill located on Lehigh St. in Bethlehem. They are open Mon - Tue 4PM - 12AM and Wed - Sun 12PM - 12AM. My last visit was this past Thursday. My buddy and I stopped in around 2PM and had the whole place to ourselves. I started with Fatman Scoop; Hoss pierogies, cooper sharp, shaved ribeye, red wine demi glaze, caramelized onions, and one over easy egg. Absolutely amazing! I then moved onto the Angry Birds. They were served wet, crispy, and delicious. The hot-n-honey sauce packed quite the punch. Last but not least, The Feast of St. Eugene; seasoned ribeye, caramelized onions, Gruyère, Egypt Star Bakery French bread, au jus, and horseradish aioli. The roll was fresh, the meat was tender, and the au jus and horseradish aioli complimented it perfectly. Top tier! The Wooden Match has Indoor and outdoor seating. Pickup and delivery are both available. Met up with a friend for some drinks and dinner. This is a totally different venue from what I'm used to in Bethlehem. It was a really good vibe. DJ was playing really good songs. The wait staff was down to Earth and made everything feel comfortable. I will definitely go back.

This is a mixed review. Love a restaurant that offers options other than beef for a burger. The portions are large, had The Mandate burger with turkey patty and the house chips. They had live music with a variety of artists and offered seating for people eating and those just drinking. The two groups separated by the train tracks. One thing is they allow smoking outside at the tables. The kitchen was slow, did notice that tables that ordered appetizers seemed to get those dishes quicker than the main courses.

Nachos were swimming in water. Inedible. Husband's burger was supposed to be medium. It was dry and gray throughout. Super smash bros burger and pretzels were asking. However, just disappointing the consistency. Used to be a spot for amazing bar food.

Visited again late on a Saturday night for dinner with my picky father. We were both blown away by the wings, which they fry and finish on the grill. Sauces were delicious. Our quoted time for a table was more than an hour, but we didn't wait nearly that long. In the meantime, it was nice to enjoy a few beers outside and listen to the live music.

I'm a huge fan of restaurants and bars with character - and the Wooden Match is everything you want and expect in a cigar bar. Walk-in humidor. Eclectic menu. Nostalgic decor. I can still taste the boldness of my CAO Maduro (hand-selected by the server) paired nicely with my sour cherry ale. I ordered Jameson Caramel wings, and my friend ordered their famous Fatman Scoop, which includes Hoss perogies, Cooper sharp, shaved ribeye, caramelized onions, demi-glaze, and an over-easy egg. I would have loved to tackle the Fatman myself, but, alas - my dairy allergy said no :) I ordered a Kriek American Wild Ale on tap, and my friend followed suit. We finished our cigars and meal and ventured outside to imbibe the live music along the railroad tracks. The Wooden Match is now a "must go to" when I travel to Bethlehem, and I recommend it to all who live in or travel to the area! Side note - Kriek American Wild Ale is rare and available on tap at the Wooden Match. I tracked it down at a beer distributor in Delran, NJ, and proceeded to buy an entire case of it when I returned home ;)

If you haven't been here in a while it's time to come back! Great vibes terrific food, bands and cigars. Plus huge outdoor seating on the newly improved patio!

Service was excellent. Craft beer selection was sensational. The food was marvelous. We had a large party seated downstairs and everyone in the group couldn't say enough about how good the experience was.

We had such a great experience bringing our pup here for outdoor dining! It was his first time and our waitress Alexis was so sweet to him and even brought him ice for his teething! The food was so yummy and we can't wait to go back!

We ordered the Caesar salad (phenomenal) The steak tartare, just divine perfection The waitress heard me talking about the sweat breads from the chicken dish (that I wasn't ordering, I'll explain shortly) and said the chef could do them as a side dish, DELICIOUS!!! My husband got the world's largest most delicious pork chop. Now, my meal. I ordered the halibut and recognized that perhaps it wasn't for me, but I ordered it it was my choice I wasn't going to send it back. Our waitress took note that I wasn't eating and told me that simply would not do and hustled to the kitchen to come out with the chicken dish, I was so appreciative of her noticing and accommodating this, truly, amazing service and that chicken was succulent beyond words! We also got 3 of the desserts, the seasonal eggnog bread pudding, the cinnamon raisin bread pudding which was insanely delicious as I personally am not a huge bread pudding fan but if every bread pudding was this? That would be my go to! And of course the butterscotch pudding which better never leave the menu because it is lick your plate delicious!!! I also enjoyed a hot cocktail which on a cold night was heavenly. Bolete is such an incredible culinary journey that we specifically go there from our home state because we know it will always be inviting, delicious and warm with heart and soul from the chef and staff.

A once cozy and romantic atmosphere, is now a crowded, loud dining room. I had made a reservation on Resy (as per Bolete's website) and requested an upstairs table. In the notes, I mentioned our anniversary, and that we were looking forward to a cozy table to celebrate. Unfortunately, we were seated in the middle of two other parties, whom were both facing us. The lighting was contemporary, and kept brightening then dimming, repeatedly throughout the evening. There was little to no decor, I'm assuming that was removed to fit the volume of tables. The food was as delicious, as I had remembered. However, my husband ordered the ribeye, and was told they were out of steak, but that the pork chop was a delicious second choice. Sorry...a pork chop is not comparable to a steak. An appetizer we chose was also no longer available. Perhaps if Bolete had stuck with quality over quantity, they would not have run out of our first choice options? For our few, and far between date nights these days, the overall experience was a disappointment.

We walked in and even though it was busy we were taken to our reserved table immediately. The place is big with nice decor and ambiance, and the tables are spaced out enough that it keeps the area around you quiet enough to be able to hold a conversation comfortably with the people at your table. Our server was with us quickly and took our drink orders. All of the cocktails were delicious and several of us got a second round! We got the bao buns, chicken skewers, and birria poutine to start and they were all extremely delicious. The poutine tasted more like molé though so I personally wouldn't call it birria, and the cheese was a molten cheddar-like kind and not cheese curds. It was delicious though so no one complained! I got the curry and subbed tofu for shrimp. It was a little bland and I honestly wish there would've been a bit more of the curry itself (there was so much rice) and some more salt/seasoning, but it was fine. I'd give it a 7.5/10. My coworkers all enjoyed their own dishes (especially the rigatoni) and they kept raving about them throughout the whole meal. Our server was attentive and kept the table clean and our water bottles topped up. I definitely recommend checking it out! We're keeping it i. our list for next time we're in town :)
