The ribs were good and falling off the bone. The steak was cooked medium rare like I ordered. Feedback for the steak was that is was a little chewy and really could have used a sear. Excellent food! Good service, welcomed at the door, we were seated and drinks came quickly before we met our server. Ordered sweet tea, it does not taste house made, it tastes like Lipton lemon tea, swapped it for regular tea. No kids menu, my son ordered of the 65+ menu, the 8 oz sirloin and steak fries. I ordered a 7 oz bacon wrapped filet with melted blue cheese crumbles, a side of mac and cheese, and not pictured, their French onion soup. The food was so good. My son and I were very impressed, both of our steaks were cooked perfectly, the food was excellent. Used the handy yelp app to find a steakhouse on the way back from the Grand canyon. Found this place and thought we would give it a try. We chose to set at the bar. We both ordered a drink and looked over the moon. I ordered a nice ribeye, and a baked potato. We received great service through the entire meal consistently asking if we needed anything. Absolutely the best food and atmosphere in have eaten at in Kingman. Food is Fabulous and the staff is amazingly friendly and outgoing. I highly recommend eating here it might be a tad pricey for those who don't eat much but that only means you get to take home your leftovers and eat 2 to 3 great meals or split the entree with another member of the party in your group. Am not sure if there has been and ownership/management change here? Kingman Chophouse has been my go-to place for dinner whenever passing through Kingman (1-2 time every 3 months). However, the last two visits were not what I had become used to in the previous 3 years. Last night ordered the chicken breast and sautéed vegetables. The chicken was tough, had virtually no taste and was hard to cut (and equally hard to chew). $30. On my previous visit, it was a steak (sirloin maybe, don't recall). But I do remember this ... it was also tough to cut and a workout to chew. Additionally, last night I got in late after a 5 hr drive and arrived 15 minutes before closing. Was continually reminded by the waitress (who was very nice and polite btw) that they were getting ready to close and would need to get my food out quickly. Now THIS is a pet peeve of mine (and a lot of other people). If you are open and serving until a certain time, there should be NO indication from the wait staff that a customer is inconveniencing the restaurant. If a restaurant states they are open until 8, they should be providing the same service at 8pm that someone who cam in at 6 received. Certainly if a restaurant wants customers EXITING by 8pm, they should stop taking orders at, for instance, 7pm or whenever they feel they can get their end of day things done. Like I said, the waitress was polite, but I could sure sense I was in the way around 8:15. read more

Walking into Kingman Chophouse gives you a small-town steak spot feel. Sure it's no five star/Michelin star restaurant, but you're getting a meal in Kingman. The service was excellent. Chris, who we were later told was relatively new, noticed we didn't have waters when we were seated and got us waters and drink menus quickly. He was friendly and helpful, you can tell he puts effort into being a good waiter. Our waitress was Carmen. She truly waited on us, as opposed to just taking orders. Carmen gave us suggestions and offered other menu items, was conversational and friendly. The food was great too: the Pastrami burger I had was a massive portion and delicious. I added the fully loaded baked potato, and it was lovely. The food was great, the environment is decent but the service was fantastic. I'm just passing through Kingman. I had a craving for a steak and baked potato. There are two steak houses and I picked the one nearest to where I was staying, Kingman Chophouse. I ordered the Filet wrapped in bacon-medium rare. I was really disappointed to find that there wasn't even a line of pink in my steak, it was well done. The baked potato was brown-ish inside. I understand the baked potato, because it was a few hours before closing and I'm sure it had been sitting most of the day. But overcooking a filet mignon? That's just sad. The food was good and my filet was prepared as I asked and very tasty. Others in my party enjoyed their food. The service was also very attentive. I took off one star for the "nickel and dime factor". For a $39 steak dinner I should not be charged $2 for a "loaded" bake potato. Also, I realize cash is king but a $3 charge to use your bank card? I don't know what that was but it wasn't spreadable No one ever came to the table to refill drinks or ask if we needed anything else I requested lemon twice for my drink and it was never brought out. We went last December to celebrate my birthday. I ordered the filet mignon. I'm VERY particular about my steak: it has to be blue! Screaming hot sear, with good grill marks, tender, beautiful red (not bloody) inside. All I can tell you is that I made absolutely sure that the chef got my sincere congratulations! Aged correctly, grilled to ABSOLUTE perfection!. Our server overheard my husband raising his glass to me to wish me happy birthday. At the end of our meal a gorgeous platter with chocolate cupcake, small bowl of delicious French vanilla ice cream and delicate florets of ganache garland chasing the perimeter of the platter and framing. While visiting Kingman I was in the mood for a steak and heard good things about Kingman Chophouse. I arrived at 8 PM on a Friday night and took a seat at the bar. Feel laid back atmosphere with a rustic feel. I was quickly served and preserved an old fashioned who was decent but lacking in presentation. Served with a straw and a non muddled maraschino cherry... consider investing in Lido cherries and maybe serving on a toothpick For my first course, I ordered a half dozen oysters. They were about as good as I could expect from a place in the middle of the desert. Frozen and thawed, they were fresh enough though. I was, however, disappointed, but the cocktail sauce was obviously from a bottle. Cocktail sauce is so easy to make... serve your oysters with horseradish and home made cocktail sauce... it goes a long way! Next I had the clam chowder. I am doubtful it was homemade, and tasted like it was from a can. Not bad but not good either. This was followed by a Caesar salad. Very average. Obviously store bought dressing... and WAY too much of it. Consider tossing your Caesar salad in a homemade dressing (again very easy to make!). The dressing is either Ken's steakhouse or newsman's own. Decent size serving with fresh lettuce and some shredded cheese. Very mediocre. Then on to the main course, a NY strip. I wanted the bone in strip but they were out. Steak had nice grill marks, but no crust. Cutting into. It is a high-quality piece of meat and nice cooked medium just as I ordered. Biting into it, however, the flavor is lacking. It's a boring steak, just kind of bland and meh. Not inedible by any means but it made me regret not just going to a local burger joint. It's a shame because it is a reasonably good cut of meat, but it needs to be seared with a nice crust and seasoned properly. I've never put A1 sauce on a steak in my life but I found myself wishing I had some because this was so flavorless. The service was great and the bartender was super nice. I did not get bread service... not sure if that is a thing here. Feedback: - make your own sauces and dressings!!! This is a no brainer, guys. It's a little more effort but it goes a long way. Cocktail sauce is cheap and easy to make, and horseradish is cheap and keeps for a long time. Invest in that. A table side Caesar salad would also be a nice touch - make your own soups. Maybe the clam chowder was made in the house and I'm wrong. If that's the case, then get a different recipe. - train your staff on the craft of steak preparation. Learn to sear to a crust. Season it properly. All you need is salt and pepper, but portions and quantities matter. Grill marks aren't enough. You need to seer it in a super hot salamander or other oven. You're taking the time to hand, cut your steaks in the house, but you are doing them an injustice by serving this way. You could up your game and make this place upscale and amazing. Drinks made to order with all extras in stock and tasted delicious Steaks were made to order - medium rare and was recommended the Delmonico to try as a Rib Eye & definitely worth the $$ vs regular rib eye Did not order dessert but maybe next time. What can I say-- this steakhouse is a must try for those not worried on spending a few $$$. Needed to go to Kingman to register the boat & can't thank my local friend enough for her recommendation of this restaurant! We sat at the bar and immediately noticed the set up for Bloody Marys. I almost fell in love right then & there. Carmen made my drink and served us as well. She recommended the steak sandwich, so my BF ordered that with a loaded baked potato. My partner and I were craving a delicious dinner so we headed to the Kingman Chophouse. We were unfortunately disappointed with the quality of our meal. I ordered a ribeye, 40+dollars. A loaded baked potato ,which cost extra of course , and a side salad. I also added blue cheese to top my steak. My sweetheart ordered chicken breast with mashed potatoes and a cup of chowder. The soup and salad arrived. The chowder was okay, nothing special. The blue cheese was sour and I am guessing store bought. The main entree arrived. When I tell you there was a half cup of melting blue cheese on my steak, I am not exaggerating. It was disgusting and I quickly scrapped it off. The baked potato was terrible. Really dense, not fluffy. And my partner's chicken was to flat breasts out of a frozen bag to be sure. The meal disappointing. Nearing 100$ tab . I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.
