I had lunch here with a fairly large group and I got the vegetarian dry noodles while most of the rest of the group got the traditional beef noodle soup. It was a very large portion and delicious! It wasn't bland noodles like I expected but seasoned with preserved vegetable and a sauce that tasted peanut-y. The best Taiwanese noodle soups in Dallas. Beef noodle soup is a classic, but I always order the seafood noodle soup. Noodles are made fresh and you can taste the freshness..Nice and chewy, not too dense. I also always order the 1000 year old egg and tofu as a starter. I don't recommend that for everyone as it might be a little too "exotic" for some. I honestly haven't tried any of their dried dishes and I don't exactly plan to as I come straight for the noodle soups. The owners do not sub or special order so don't ask. I've tried to get some shaved ice before and they wouldn't swap out the chocolate scoop for a vanilla. Don't see how that's a huge accommodation, but to them it was a big deal. This is one of my all time favorite noodle places! Mainly because the taste of the food reminds me so much of Taiwan. Because it's just that good! The taste is very authentic. The noodles are chewy and have their own unique texture. The soup is tasty! Watch out, cause they only accept cash. SO many times I've gone and forgotten to get cash. This food was so good it made me want to drive full speed into the on ramp of 75 and shoot off into the air and fly back down through the 635 while there was traffic on the non toll portion and drop noodles on everyone's head so they could taste how good it was and then fly back to the folks on the Dallas north tollway and drop dumplings on everyone at the galleria so they could taste it too. Hmmmm.....noodle soup. Likely my favorite thing to eat, any season of the year. Nothing like a bowl of hot noodle soup to make you warm during winter. Nothing like a bowl of hot noodle soup to cool you down during hot Texas summers (yes, it sounds weird, but it works). I've tried almost all their noodle soup dishes and all of them are really good. I prefer the noodle dishes with the handmade noodles, which you'll find in their beef noodle soup. If you're not sure, just ask the cashier, their English is generally pretty decent. Their fried pork chop rice is delicious - nice and oily and unhealthy tasting. YUM. :) Haven't tried the shaved ice yet, but apparently a lot of Yelpers swear it's the best. As a Taiwanese, this restaurant is my fav beef noodle soup place in the DFW metroplex. I love their noodles and the broth tastes clean, not greasy like other beef noodle places. The lady was so unapologetic about it and had a really bad attitude. Best beef noodle soup I've had since my moms duh and Taiwan itself . Beef noodle soup is the ULTIMATE Taiwanese childhood nostalgic comfort food . And it's done RIGHT here and is super authentic. I will drive the distance to eat alone here AND take out one for later. The noodles are fresh and thick! I have to satisfy my cravings as we only have one place with good beef noodle soup here in Chicago and it's far. I would go to King's often if I lived here. I normally go to Monkey King Noodle in Deep Ellum, but King's Noodle is a lot closer to my house. I really like the taste of the broth and the big and plenty chunks of beef in my Beef Noodle Soup was great and sufficient. I still however still prefer the noodles from Monkey King Noodle, maybe because I get to watch them hand pull the noodles and they are a bit more chewy in consistency. I don't think they pull their own noodles at Kings Noodles but they make them fresh which is good. I wish they offered a Spicy version of their beef noodle soup. CASH ONLY. Figured I'd start with the most important fact. Prices are extremely cheap here though. Hubby and I usually spend about $20-$25 for the both of us. That includes one of their appetizers, 2 milk teas, 2 noodle dishes, and when it's in season, the shaved ice with fruit. I love the Ground Pork Dry Noodles. So delicious. There isn't much meat in here though, but you can always order a side of fried pork chop. That's pretty good too. I wished we lived closer, I'd go here twice a week if we did. More when the shaved ice with fruits is in season. It's just like juice box although much more expensive. That is my biggest pet peeve here. She missed two of our orders and gave it to us after she gave us the shaved ice. So pathetic. The clerk overcharged us $8. We're from Arlington... It was disappointing to come home and find that she overcharged us and didn't give us what we ordered. I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would give this place a 4 or 5 star. Maybe because DFW doesn't have many Taiwanese restaurants here, like they do in Houston. Hey cashier, your job is easy.... it's called picking up the food, putting it in a styrofoam to-go box, knowing math and charging the right price for food, after giving the accurate order to the customer. This placed was recommended to me by a friend. She praised the mango shaved ice and the beef noodle soup. So that is exactly what I bought. I normally don't eat soup during summer. But she kept raving about it. The soup was actually really good. Great flavor, excellent broth. I then bought the small order of the mango shaved ice. This desert is similar to a filipino desert called halo halo. It's just that this was all mango. This is a great summer treat. I do plan on going back to try some of the other items on the menu. I'm always sure to hit this place up whenever I'm in Dallas! The beef noodles taste just like they make it in Taiwan. The soup is flavorful, never too salty. Noodles are perfectly chewy.
