Had high expectations but this place did not live up to it. The noodles in the beef noodle were over cooked and soft. The fried pork and rice dish was decent, but the clear broth soup that came with it had a horrible tap water taste. If we were in Taiwan, I'd say King's Noodle is pretty average. But since jet setting off several thousand miles every now and then isn't really an option, King's Noodle provides the best alternative to Taiwanese style noodles. As I think about it, the no frills service setup is the same as Taiwan so maybe it's not that far off. There's really only two dishes to order here, the beef noodle soup and the za jiang mien. The chewy texture of the noodles separates this eatery from the more mundane competition. Just don't expect white gloved service or a posh setting, but do expect tasty noodles at Asian penny pinching prices. read more

I love soup. I have to have soup every night. But I'm NOT talking about soup out of a can. My wife makes soup broth from scratch, buying the beef or pork bones or chicken and boiling them for a loooong time. King's Noodle noodle soup tastes like home made broth. For only $6, I get a big bowl of tasty hot broth, lots of noodles and some vegetables. When we plan to go here, I think about it all day. I've had Taiwanese shaved Ice in Houston so I was desperately looking for it in the MetroPlex. I am proud to announce that this place beats (slightly) the Juice Box in Houston's China Town! The strawberries were very fresh and the mangos were perfectly ripe. I believe we paid around $6-7 dollars but this is my all time favorite desert. I will definitely be back. The beef noodle soup is excellent and measures up to anything I used to get in Taipei or Beijing. You can even order fresh pulled noodles! Okay Food, but rude employee, I am from out of town and a big fan of noodle soup, so I was very excited for this. The male owner which is the cashier seems nice, I ordered beef noodle soup, and a drink, to be fair the drink was really good. I went around 1 pm so they were kinda busy, but I was hungry, so I keep turning my head and look at the cooking station. see how they cook. and this clean up lady walk by and tell me to stop looking at the cooking station and there is two more orders before mine. It was so RUDE...I have have all the right to look anywhere plus their kitchen is open to the rest of the restaurant , I was pretty mad and give her a look, when she give me my food later she basically thow the bowl on my table. It is the rudest waitress Ive ever seen. So of course no tip for her and I will never go back to this place. So bad. If you know what the real good beef noodle soup is, you should never go there. 10 years ago, I think the flavor was fine for the price you pay. But since then it's been getting worse and worse. Few days ago I was craving for beef noodle soup, so I decided to give it a last chance, and of course it let me down again. The beef was pretty salty. The soup was just like soy sauce with water. The only thing it was edible is the "noodle" itself. I am a regular here and always order their #1 Dry Beef Noodle. The price has increased over the years but the portions have been pretty consistent. It could take a while for them to prepare the food but it's worth the wait if you are a noodle lover like myself. read more

The beef stew noodle reminded of the beef noodle I had at a little hole in the wall place in Kaohsiung while there on business recently. The beef was tender but a bit chunky. Went to King Noodle, after seeing all of the reviews for the restaurant on Yelp. The restaurant is right in Richardson, on Greenville, just off of Main Street. So pretty easy access. I had a bowl of the Beef Noodle Soup and a side of the beef tendon. I forget that the Taiwanese style of side dishes is cold. So note that the tendon came on a plate cold. In general it was flavorful, a little hard because it came chilled, but had a good meaty, soy sauce, flavor, and not too salty. The Beef Noodle Soup was good. As all of the other posts have mentioned, it is a big bowl of soup with a lot of noodle, good pieces of beef, and baby bok choy. I couldn't tell if the noodles were fresh or not, but had an ok bite to them and the flavor was good. Not sure about freshness because it had that restaurant trick feel of, cooked it and warmed it up and finished it in hot water before serving. There were good serving sizes of beef, tender, and flavorful. The soup that everyone is raving about is spectacular for Dallas, but in my opinion only ok. Good flavor of beef, the star anise, the soy, etc. I like mine with a little bit of spicy bite, but that's just me. What disappointed me was the broth was very oily. I've found this to be a problem at a lot of pho places in Dallas too. So although you want to drink a lot of it, it becomes heavy and there's that greasy feel to it. Overall, I would recommend it for anyone looking for more authentic Chinese noodles and flavors. Not really cheesy Chinese if that's what you're looking for. I will come back and try the jia jiang mein that everyone is talking about and in general am excited to find something more authentic. read more

Had the zia jia mein and omg most delicious it felt like a noodle taiwanese ba wan. Also had the beef noodle soup and so delicious even better than I can make it. My wife had the seafood noodles and was very delicious. Cash only but it so affordable in price you cant really complain 22 bux for 3 bowls of noodles in a just right hit the spot size. Will definitely keep going back and perfect thing for cold weather too! read more

Been here a couple times and the beef stew noodle soup is my favorite. Have to give it to them that their broth is so good. Really enjoyed it because it reminds me of home. I went there for the first time at around 4:30pm on a Saturday. I was really hungry and didn't have a lot of time. I picked King's Noodle because I thought it would be fast since it was during off-hour. Not including my table, there were only 3 other guests and service was extremely slow. I don't know what they had to do in the kitchen but it took a long time for everyone to get their food. I got the shrimp wonton noodle soup and it was very good. King noodle is indeed the king of noodles! I'm not too keen on their other menu items (personally speaking but it's not to say it is bad food) besides their noodles but the portion size is pretty good! They have increased their prices in recent years but their quality is still there, their prices are around $10? It's a cash only place. Their bubble milk tea is also good (but they have run out in the past towards later in the day) and so is their winter melon tea. If you come you HAVE TO try their Beef Noodle Soup and make sure you drink the soup! It's a family owned business, and the water and utensils are self-serve. Bathrooms are pretty clean as well. Their service can be fast or slow depending, it kind of inconsistent in that regard, so if your on a tight schedule I wouldn't come. But just to hangout and eat then it's good. Overall great place to eat especially for authentic Taiwanese food. read more
