I read the two previous Yelp reviews and had heard locals talk about the pizza. I love NY style pizza and there are not many authentic places in Gaithersburg. To me anyway. So I went in and placed my order of a small pepperoni pizza and a large cheese pizza. The lady taking my order noticed I had my kids with me. And rather than rip me off (you'd be surprised how many times restaurants see kids = cash) offered the best deal for me in terms of drinks so I wouldn't have to pay as much. I thought that was thoughtful. As we engaged in small talk, I told her I went to King's because of Yelp. She hadn't heard of Yelp, but she was glad to hear that people liked her pizza. Found out that she was actually the owner. Her father had given her the recipe and she was from Brooklyn. Explains the authenticity of the pizza. And it was super, tasty delicious. My kids polished off the pepperoni pizza, even the middle child who hates pepperoni. They almost polished off the large pizza too. I don't blame them. The crust was thin, but not flaky thin. The crust was a perfect blend of crunch and chew. The cheese oozed and the aroma, I wish I could bottle it up and take with me. It's how pizza should taste. I saw other patrons order, the pizza seems to be the most popular. Though I did see a cheese steak sub that was laden with meat and smelled delicious as their food was brought over. I will be trying that next time I go back. Oh yes, there will be a next time. The dining areas are not inspired but I was ok with that. The focus was on the food. But the people working there are very sweet and accommodating and that makes up for any fancy tables and walls. read more

You wouldn't expect to find real NY Style pizza complete with garlic knots in a little railroad town in Maryland. But King's Pizza truly delivers. The real test was when we took my friend who's from NY and is something of a self-proclaimed pizza snob. She was a little skeptical, but admits that this is the real deal. They also have pasta, calzones, and sandwiches, though I cannot attest to their quality. The ambiance of the place leaves a bit to be desired. There are two dining areas. The one immediately when you walk in has some cafeteria style booths. The dining are around the corner has tables, most all of which require a wad of napkins under a table leg to keep them from being tippy. But may I remind you that you're not going there for the ambiance. You're going for the pizza. And trust me, it makes up for it. read more

Family owned establishment that's served up Brunswick for many years... I like to stop in when passing thru; either from the Bike trail, or from the car. Stopped in for a pie after hiking around Harper's Ferry. It was great! Perfect NY style pizza. Great tasting sauce and cheese, definitely better than most you find outside of NY area itself. We called ahead and it was ready in about 15 minutes. We got pepperoni and mushroom, and the toppings were tasty and plentiful. Kings pizza has some of the best pizza that I have ever had. The pizza cook(s) there are very passionate about providing their customers with the best quality of food that there is to offer. While out on a winery tour today, we found ourselves very hungry and as you might imagine, food options in the more remote parts of Loudoun County. Thankfully Yelp steered us towards King's Pizza. So, lets be frank: it's a dive. Many of the reviews have mentioned this, so don't be surprised when you see the place. Service: You order at the counter, pay, and then they bring you the food. It wasn't very busy (there was one other couple in the place) so food came out quickly. They brought out items as they were ready, which was appreciated. Food: After a nice afternoon of wine, we had worked up quite an appetite so we were ambitious with our order. Garlic knots, french fries, and a medium pepperoni pizza with green pepper. French fries: standard fries, not crinkle cut. Good portion for two people. The woman who brought them over warned us they were hot, and she wasn't joking. Garlic knots: my husband enjoyed them but said they would have been even better had they been made fresh right then. When you walk in, you see a mass of garlic knots behind the glass. I am assuming that they were made that day, but you know what happens when you assume.. ;) Pizza: had a great crust and was loaded with pepperoni and green peppers. The crust was this great middle road between crispy and chewy. I'm often not a big fan of pizza crust but I did eat my crust today. Bottom line: Doubt we would ever be in the area again, but if we did find ourselves hungry, in the area and in the mood for pizza, we would probably go back. As for recommending it to others - if you don't mind the divey atmosphere, go for it. read more

5 stars. This place is the real deal. This place is not messing around. This is kind of pizzeria that makes you yearn for your childhood pizzeria. This place looks, smells, and tastes like a no-BS pizzeria. My wife, born and raised in northern NJ, said that this is the only pizza place she's ever found outside of NY/NJ that reminds her of "true" NY pizza and her hometown pizzeria. Bravo, King's Pizza. Best pizza in the world and Ive been all over the place! The original owners are gone which is sad the recipe did change slightly I was not happy that the crust is thicker now. The old recipe was a bit tangier. Its still the best. I travel there almost every year to get my piece. I usually have to fly in but Im glad they are still in business. If you love New York style pizza, you will love King's. They are nothing fancy, a pizza joint with a dining area. The pizza potion are huge! You will defiantly get your money worth. The staff is fairly friendly, nothing amazing but all easy to get along with. I do not prefer New York style pizza you can try the many other menu items. I have not personally tried to many other items except the garlic knots, which are great. Some days, there are issues with the local middle schoolers loitering in store and outside. Usually you can take into your own hands and tell them to leave or tell the employees. read more

Went there on a weeknight, and we were the only people there. Of course, the hubs over-ordered so we had the garlic knots, a meat lovers pizza for him and the pepperoni pizza for the kiddos. I had the cheese steak sandwich. The pizzas were great, but the garlic knots with the marinara sauce were simply stupendous. I'm a Philly gal and love my cheese steaks, but I could live with the Kings' version till I get my hands on the real deal. We rounded it out by getting some cannoli - but that was not stellar. I asked on the phone if they were backed up for delivery as if they were I would do carry out. They said no it's just an hour. Ok. This was at 4:55 pm. It's now 6:36pm and it's still not here..... I called to ask where it's at and they are "pretty sure" that it's out already. I said I'm "pretty sure" I'm not going to pay you for it when it gets here and she said there's nothing she can help with for that. Good lord. Can't even offer a discount for being wrong and late? I wouldn't have taken it but it would have been nice to have it offered...I get that things happen...... but on top of being wrong up front, being extremely late in delivering the food, you're gonna be rude too? Great food horrible customer service! Have been a customer for almost 12 years but the past few times I have ordered, something is always wrong. Today I ordered a pizza and for delivery and was told 45-50 minutes. No problem....however an hour and a half later still no pizza. Called and I was told it's on its way. Another 10 minutes go by and I call again to cancel my order, the gentleman on the phone said I can't call the driver to cancel. I asked why the delay, he said they got busy and we try our best to meet delivery times. I asked why I didn't receive a call to let me know the delay and when I called the second time why I wasn't informed of the delay at that time. He said "unless I worked it the food industry I wouldn't understand and he has 20 orders in front of him and wouldn't know which ones to call". He said there was only one driver and he was going to lovettsville and lander road and had other deliveries. I informed him that I have previously worked in the food industry and bottom line this was an example of poor customer service. I again told him I wanted to cancel order and go get got other food and said "why not just wait another 20 minutes or so because you are going to have to wait regardless of where you go". I told him after this I wasn't going to pay for food that was this late. He said he didn't own the place only worked here and wouldn't be able to do anything. I said this was unacceptable and hung up. The pizza finally arrived another 10 minutes, almost 2 hours after placing my call, and low and behold the pizza wasn't even hot. Rather than being empathic, the guy on the phone was defensive and wasn't helpful in any way. Normally when you inconvenience a customer in that capacity, you try to not only listen but try to make it right. Very disappointed. read more

This place is the best bang for your buck in Brunswick. Their pizza is delicious and the portions are nice. The cannolis? Wonderful! And the garlic knots are to die for. I also enjoy their calzones. After being told a sausage sub and Strom bolivar have the same amount of sausage I ordered the sausage stromboli. There was about an inch of sausage spread over the whole thing, so I fed it to my dogs. Horrible. We then gave them a 2nd chance and ordered a pizza with HALT anchovies. They were all over it, so my wife ate nothing. Check your order carefully. The food CAN be good, but I'm not going back unless they replace what they screwed up. read more

Vintage NY-style pizza joint. I hope they never change. Garlic knots are memorable (when I lived down the street). Their pizza is proper, not thick, soggy, chewy, or hard. The keys to good pizza are the dough, tomato, and cheese. That's the foundation to goodness, which franchise pizza shops haven't been able to duplicate. read more

You got to be kidding me. No Alfredo though on menu. No salad due to no fresh vegetables. Table service was grudging and no one came back to check on us diners. No offer of water and no drink refills. Tables were dirty though they acted like dining in there was a new concept. Sauce was from a can of off brand food service. Two thumbs down. read more

King's is the kind of place you visit to fetch a fresh, piping hot pizza and some garlic knots to go. Although the staff is reasonably friendly and many of the menu items are quite delicious, the interior is a little outdated, so this is not the kind of restaurant you visit for ambiance. King's serves pizza, pasta, and sandwiches, along with a limited selection of desserts. I noticed on a recent vist that King's now has a new ice cream case stocked with summertime favorites like chocolate eclair and strawberry shortcake bars. read more

I absolutely love King's Pizza. Sometimes you have to wait a bit when they are busy, but it is always well worth it. I have never been disappointed. Friendly staff too.
