The service was good. My specialty drink with blueberries was weak and the blueberries were old. $15 drinks I want a good drink. The broiled seafood platter the stuffed shrimp was good. The stuffed clams had an unusual spice in them. My husband's Bloody Mary was not great, and his ahi tuna wasn't good. Split the oysters and wings to start, which were great. For dinner we each got a lobster roll, one hot, one cold. Both were very good and came with coleslaw. Love their cold lobster roll served on a perfect buttery bun. Seems like there is less meat and less fries in their order than last year though. Very glad they upgraded from boneless wings to bone in wings, kudos to that. The steamed little neck clams were horrible. For one they were not little necks, they were big & the meat was tough. The garlic jalapeño broth tasted like dirty water. I can't believe they were this bad for a seafood based restaurant. Jarred jalapeños with celery and jarred garlic. This needs a major overhaul. Some white wine, parsley, red pepper flakes , fresh garlic and clam juice is needed. Tuna app, good! No complaints. Service? Awful. The waitress was on sabbatical. Couldn't get napkins to save our lives. Never asked how food was. Ambiance could be better. Plastic tables with mismatched chairs, time for an upgrade. Met some friends here a few years ago. We had a nice time. Came back with my Dad for lunch & we enjoyed our lunch. Looking back I have to say my Steamers were the best I've had out in a restaurant. They were sweet & tender. The swishing broth was flavored & the butter slicked them up just right. My hot buttered Lobster Roll was full of chunks of lobster and my tarragon mayo on the side was perfect. The only letdown for me was my Pina Colada. I haven't had one in many years and had a taste for it, but what I received was an icy flavorless concoction that I should've just returned so that is the reason for the one star being off, but otherwise my food was excellent and it seemed my dad enjoyed his flounder Reuben. Zero stars is what I would rate this place for their incompetence. It was nice weather, but pretty chilly with the breeze tonight so we opted to eat inside which we were told was about a 30 min wait. I was waiting with my husband and 2 kids. Many people came after us and I heard them decide to eat outside due to the wait. After about 40 min I asked the hostess if it would be much longer. She seemed to forget my name and didn't look at her book and said that a lot of people who sat outside were cold and moved themselves to open tables inside. This was absolutely ridiculous. We probably could've stood there for another hour like a bunch of morons waiting to be sat. You seriously need to fix your process. I worked in restaurants throughout college and can't imagine doing such a thing. Those customers should've been told there are people who have been waiting to sit inside. So now you know, just sit outside then move your ass inside and you don't need to wait! Kingston's Clam Bar is a hidden dockside gem with delicious seafood. My friend and I went during sunset and sat outside with views of the marina beneath the cotton candy sky. I had the flounder reuben with fries and it was filled with flavor. My friend was happy with her crab roll and clams. Our waitress was super friendly, and there was catchy live music as we ate and sipped on our lemonades. Decent, nothing crazy. It's a small spot on the water tucked into the quiet town of Sayville. Dined here last night. The fried calamari was crispy on the outside but wayyyy too squishy on the inside. The food here was awesome & service was spot on! I know the businesses in Suffolk County will be so happy if there's a dedicated pool of money for updating the water infrastructure here so they can cut out the single use plastic & I hope the voters support a clean water referendum on the ballet, too! Been here several times both by car as well as dock and dine. It's not fancy if that is what you are looking for but it is perfect for some fried seafood and fries, fish tacos with a nice cold beer or clam pizza. Service is ALWAYS with a smile - they have great, very sweet servers here! We will be back for sure if we are lucky enough to get a dock space. That said, I can not recommend the lobster roll which is a bummer because I'm always looking for a good one. They got SO much right in their roll - the mayo is just the right amount, they add fresh, crisp celery, which I love and the roll is perfection, toasted and buttery. However, the meat is predominately the claw-bearing legs, you know the bottom part of the nice claw meat, that is a little rubbery/caulky piece that has a weird consistency. It ruins the roll when every other piece is one of those (I had seven in my little roll and I don't eat them, so that was basically half my sandwich) fortunately we ran into friends there who had their dog with them, he loved those pieces lol). I know it's cheaper for the restaurant to sell the tails in a meal and not put them in the rolls but I would rather they charged me more for the roll and put some nice chunks of tail and the large claw meat in them - then I would come weekly for a roll. There is nothing like docking your boat after a day at sea and having an amazing roll and cold beer. IMHO, each roll should be at least half a lobster (the best ones I have eaten have a whole lobster) then you would only receive one or two little pieces of the gross bearing claw meat and the rest would be tail and good claw meat. I'm still on the hunt in Long Island for a good roll - nothing thus far has compared to Red's in Maine, once you have had theirs it's hard to go back to bearing claw meat :-( we just need one restaurant to offer a 'whole lobster roll' they would make a mint! read more

My first time here I met some coworkers and had a beer and some steamers that were pretty good. Now it's two years later and I came back. It was crowded so we sat at the bar until our table was ready. The bartender made me a powerful but good bloody Mary and wifey had a Mango margarita that she said was delicious. When we were seated I ordered a half a dozen oysters and a half dozen clams on the half shell, both were absolutely delicious. Wifey had fried calamari that was cooked perfectly and almost melted in your mouth. I also got the fish and chips that was fried cod with a perfect crust on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside delicious. Wifey had a seafood salad that she said was bland so she had to doctor it up a bit. I had the cold lobster roll today for an early lunch. I asked for a low-fat version, with just a touch of mayo. It was the best-tasting cold lobster roll that I have had so far on Long Island. The lemon that I squeezed on it made it taste even better. For a side, I had some salad instead of fries or cole slaw. I sat at the bar, drinking a cup of seltzer water on ice with a slice of lemon and lime. Beth, the bartender, served me and did an outstanding job. She did not charge me extra for the side salad or seltzer. Total cost of my meal including tax: $26.07 It was worth every $. I heard about Kingston's from fellow Yelper, Gail B. I was in the area and decided to stop in as I am rarely out this way. I got there slightly after opening. So parking and tables were readily available. I decided to sit at the bar instead of a table as I was by myself. The bartender was really good and efficient. I ordered a Blue Point Toasted Lager and a warm lobster roll with fries. Beer was nice and crisp, and of course refreshing. Lobster roll was great!!! Lots of lobster and the toasted roll was delish. I hardly ever eat the roll of my lobster roll, but this time I did. It had excellent flavor. Very generous amount of lobster for a very reasonable price. Ordered the cheeseburger that was so salty, I felt like I was actually licking the top of a salt shaker every time I took a bite. I had a salty and greasy AF burger and only one napkin from the roll up I was given when I sat down. I understand we're in tough economic times, but another napkin would have been a treat. Cocktail sauce could have been spicier with more horseradish. My threesome shared a fried clam dinner as an appetizer. They were very good. Wished they would offer them as a appetizer without fries. Cheapest Lobster Roll around and comes with either fries/coleslaw for $20!! Located in West Sayville near the Maritime Museum & West Sayville Dock. The parking lot is small. Luckily, I was able to ride my bike up. They have outdoor picnic tables far from where you pick up orders and they are spaced far apart for takeout orders. It was really nice sitting and eating with a view. Call ahead, took around 15 minutes for my order to be ready. The service was very friendly. The prices are wonderful for a waterfront seafood restaurant! The food exceed my expectations. Decided on a lobster roll lunch. For $20...yes you read that right...$20, I got a hot lobster roll filled to the brim with gorgeous claw, knuckle, and leg meat, placed in a buttery fresh brioche roll. It came with fries or coleslaw. The fries were served hot and very crisp. I also had an order of steamers. They were perfectly cooked in a well seasoned broth and served with 2 pieces of garlic bread. I've been back to Kingston's a handful of times, what I like about it is that it's equivalent to your local dive bar, but on a marina; they serve up seafood and beers to the locals mostly. I hadn't been in a while until someone told me they make a good lobster roll (if you know me, I'm always on the hunt for new n tasty lobstah rolls) My past experience has been hit or miss here but I'm always willing to give 'em a shot. From sandy clam linguini to chewy clam strips, I've had a slew of disappointments and never really got behind Kingston's the way I wished I could. I stumbled in yesterday however, walked up to the bar, asked for a lobster roll and was convinced to get a drink while I waited. The woman wasn't very friendly, but she wasn't very unfriendly either. We didn't talk much I just chugged my vodka drink and by the time I was done I had my lunch and strolled to my car. I planned this out and parked so my trunk would be water-side; it was nice out and I had a beer in there (so why not enjoy myself?) First I noticed the yummy fries, then I noticed the excellent toast to the bun; next I saw that it was full chunk lobster meat with claws and all. The first con for me however was that it was mayo and not just drawn butter, but I think that's my fault and could have easily asked; plus, the mayo was super light and didn't really even taste too mayo-y so Kingston's had no strikes yet... Upon chowing down there was nothing to hate, the size was a bit smaller than my go-to local lobster spot, but the price was lower as well; still no strikes. About two bites in, strike one; the lobster was just a bit more dry than you get elsewhere, not desert dry just like... aired out. Strike two: I got a tiny piece of shell amidst chewing. Isn't that like... a huge no-no? All in all I walked out of there happy with the roll and I'd go back for one a bit more naked; there were a couple strikes and no home runs but they still scored enough points to win the game. Still not my favorite in the area but right up there with some of the best rolls. I have had steamers, mussels and lobster. The seafood is fresh and juicy. Not frozen or chewy. They make it nice and garlicky! Even the sides have stepped it up! Descent coleslaw and great fries. I took off one star because it is, in general, unrefined. Plastic flatware and silverware. Dive bar feel inside and facilities. But nothing deterring. Went here the other day with my girlfriend we took a ride on our bikes from Sayville so worth the ride nice place to get so sea food and hang out by the water. Me and my girlfriend got lobster rolls with fries I have to say it's 100% amazing one of the best lobster rolls I ever had fries came out fresh and crispy cook to perfection. We also got a thing of steamers so good and they give you a good amount of them also they give you a side is broth with the steamers and a nice side piece of garlic bread. Hands down one of the best sea food places around I'll definitely be coming back here to get some more lobster rolls. Our new favorite spot! My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time about a month ago after hearing great things from a coworker and have been 3 times since. We were blown away! We've ordered the hot and cold lobster rolls, mussels (massive in size), baked clams, seafood bisque, fried seafood platter and the shrimp tacos. Just WOW! We both agreed, we preferred the hot lobster roll with butter. The shrimp tacos were the absolute best! I randomly find myself craving the sauce that was on them. Drinks were tasty and service was fast and friendly! Prices are super reasonable. I've only been here during this pandemic so I can only speak of the atmosphere now. Everything is served to go but they really dont expect you to go anywhere. I love eating on the water, so this was great and the first few times there was no seating but we still enjoyed eating out of the jeep, overlooking the water. Boats were docked up and enjoying this place also. Now there are tables scattered around and i'ts amazing! I've recommended this place to a few people and everyone has raved about it since and made their second visits also- mind you its only been a month since I first went. We got the cold lobster rolls which were delicious. The roll that the lobster came in was perfectly toasted on the outsides and buttery flavored.
