What is it with all the road construction happening these days? Mom and I were trying to get somewhere else for lunch but due to all the road constructions and detours I ended up bringing us here to Kinton Ramen instead. No complaints about Kinton Ramen. We're always happy with the food and atmosphere at this place. Just that it wasn't our original plan... Anyways, Mom and I both decided to go for a value meal which comes with a choice of Ramen, a side of either meat or veggie gyoza, and a drink. Mom had Chicken Ramen, Veggie gyoza and a Ginger Ale while I had Veggie Ramen, Veggie Gyoza and a Fuze Iced Tea. Mom's Gyoza came with dipping sauce on the side. When I ordered mine though, the server asked if it was OK for the sauce to be drizzled on top of the Gyoza. I didn't realize that the alternative was to have the sauce on the side as a separate container. If he'd mentioned that option, I would have probably chosen to have it the same way that it was given to my mom. He apparently never asked my mom about having the sauce drizzled on top. Hers just came on the side by default. The Value meal was the same price as ordering a bowl of Ramen all by itself from the A la Carte menu. I think I figured out the difference though. You get the Gyoza appetizer and drink with the value meal, which you don't get if you order your Ramen noodles a la carte. However, you get less stuff in your Ramen bowl when you order it as a value meal. My Original Veggie Ramen had only Inari Tofu and scallions on top of my Ramen. The description of it on the a la carte menu though describes it as having bamboo shoots, nori, sweet corn and wood ear mushrooms in it. So...it's a matter of whether you want more variety in your bowl of ramen, or more variety of food dishes altogether. read more

It was a beautiful misty, rainy, Fall day in Vancouver. I was starving and I was wanting RAMEN. This place oddly enough is the first whereby I actually finished a whole bowl. I loved the taste. Everything about it was on point, and the noodles were not only fresh, but perfectly cooked. The space itself had great Feng Shui, spacing, decor and vibe, and the young lady that served us was friendly, attentive and helpful. As we sat by the window watching the rain drops hurry down the glass with our stomachs growling....our Ramen arrived. The Beef Original did lack a bit of salt. The Spicy Beef Garlic was very good, but there just was not enough soup, so we asked for more soup. This was actually the case with both the Ramen. Not enough soup. However, they generously gave us separate bowls of added soup. This is a testament to their level of stellar customer service, and my mentioning it is only meant for improvement..... Parking is not great in the area but side streets have some temporary street parking. Lots of great shops in the area. Golden Sesame Ramen: 9/10. Broth was 10/10. Seasoned ground pork wasn't the best I've ever had but still very very good. Spinach was excellent addition. Too many bean sprouts in my opinion. 100% will be back to try more flavors. Great taste. Hard to find parking, but deep in downtown area. Easy to walk to once you find parking. Good friendly staff. Clean venue. Dark decor good for large and small groups and dates. Tasty but snack sized ramen place on Lonsdale near 13th, right around the corner from City Hall. Parking is available on the side streets. Time is limited though. The place looks pretty modern. Lots of dark wood trim. Staff are friendly. No complaints. As with many Japanese ramen places, the bowls are a bit on the small side. So I ordered 2 bowls. The bowls they use vary based on the animal being eaten, which I found amusing. For example, there are different looking bowls for pork, chicken, and beef. Pork original - nice and tasty. Meat was nice and moist. Soup was delicious. Served with a sheet of seaweed, some bamboo, soft boiled egg (2 halves), wood ear, and green onions. For this bowl I had the thin noodles. To be honest they were a bit disappointing. Reminded me of pho. The noodles were white. I think they're made of rice. Something to keep in mind. Beef shoyu - beef slices were a bit dry, which was disappointing. Not sure if this was because it sat too long while I ate the pork bowl. The bowl is physically larger than the pork bowl, but I am not sure if the volume of food is the same. Fixings are identical to that of the pork ramen, minus the egg. I must say I enjoyed the thick noodles much more. I think these ones are made of wheat. My friends had the chicken ramen (they also tried 2 bowls each), and both mentioned the chicken was not very good at all. Having tried both, If I were to go back again, I would do the original pork bowl with thick noodles. Not a bad place to try, though there are also other ramen places in the area. read more

I came for a quick meal. They had a meal for 1 combo. I got a bowl of their "burnt" tonkotsu ramen, an order of gyoza, and their yuzu lemonade. The ramen broth was average. The chashu slices were 80% fat and 20% meat and not much char on it. Excessive bean sprouts. Gyoza are deep fried with a mayo sauce on top. I do not like gyozas like this. I prefer the more common and traditional steamed+pan fried on one side served with the tangy sauce. Lemonade was too sweet. Service was friendly, restaurant was clean. Total bill with tip was around $30. definitely steep for what you get. The food overall seems to be geared for a western crowd and i'm not a fan. Food is 3/5. Service is fine. Found out about their anniversary special ...any bowl for $9.99. The ramen did not fails brother was packed full of flavour. The noodles al dente, and the meat was tender and moist. We went with the signature sho Yu and miso ramen. Bamboo shoots were fresh and scallions added a nice texture and aromatic profile. Service was quick and attentive. Place was clean and organized. Ordered takeout from Kinton Ramen and was seriously impressed. I got the beef ramen with tofu--a combo I wasn't sure about at first, but it turned out to be a perfect pairing. The broth was rich, flavorful, and had that slow-cooked depth you can only get from a place that knows ramen. The beef was tender and well-seasoned, and the tofu added a soft, silky texture that balanced it out beautifully. We were pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the ramen. I am not a fan of ramen but it went above my expectation. The Burnt Shoyu Pork was flavourful, the noodles were perfectly done and no alkaline taste. Their ramen are generously portioned for its price. Ok so I honestly am hesitant about writing a review but only because I don't want this place to get crowded! Great service, spacious inside. Came just before noon on Tuesday and there was plenty space but it filled up. The food comes QUICK! I love that the ramen bowls come with an egg. Wish they came with mushrooms or other veggie stuff though. The egg is decent. Almost melty. Thick noodles are nice and chewy. Very good texture. The broth - really really good. The meat - comes with two diff kinds. I like the fatty one better. All in all would def come back. It's a gem. But please don't crowd up my new fav ramen place. :) read more

Today was opening day and to celebrate, their ramen bowls were half off! The resto did their best to streamline the process and took patron's orders while they lined up outside. And after a relatively short wait (half an hour), and pleasant greetings from the staff, I was seated at the bar. And I noticed immediatelyhow un-chaotic it was inside, lending a nice ambiance to the experience. My dishes were whipped up and delivered quickly, with the ramen coming in closely after the gyoza. I honestly really enjoyed the gyoza, crispy with a lovely spiced mayo. The ramen was also delicious. The thick noodles definitely had some buoyancy to them, and held up during chewing. Dinner first time in Vancouver Canada and it was great! The ramen noodles were cooked perfectly! Not even Washington restaurants can cook the noodles to an original Japanese style. The wait staff was very attentive and polite. The restaurnat itself is very small, but when we were there it was not busy at all, don't know why. The best dish is their pork ramen. I would add bamboo shoots and a seasoned egg to it as this would be a great dish. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Visited the Capilano suspension, was looking for ramen nearby and found this place. Finding a parking spot might get tricky but there's a parking lot around the corner. We went on a Thursday evening and it wasn't busy at all. We ordered the gyoza, carage, and a few different ramen. Everything was good, the cold noodle was exceptional and could not stop taking bites from my wife's even though I was already full off of mine. Also loved the backdrop of the place. read more

It was exciting to see a ramen spot in North Vancouver! The ramen was tasty and the servers were very nice. The downfall is the parking. If you are bringing someone who is not mobile, its difficult. Worst ramen I've ever had and I've been to many ramen places By far this is the worse. No flavor in the broth. They obviously don't know how to make a decent Japanese ramen When you order a shio ramen and there is no taste, it means they don't know how to cook a proper broth. You shouldn't have to add tare, miso or spice to have flavor. As soon as I saw a bunch of non-Japanese workers and a bunch of young people working behind the counter, I knew it was going to be a mistake. They don't know what they are doing and should be ashamed of themselves. What an embarrassment. Will be telling everyone I know not to waste their money. read more
