Came here late night. Wait was about 15 mins. Everything seemed very fast in here. The bowls were not very big. I've had other ramen places where I could not finish my bowl. Here easily. The pork belly rice bowl is soooooo good!!! I def love it and prefer it. Can use one extra bowl of noodles for my husband. The broth is quite salty and plenty, but that's great if you want more noodles. Prob next time my hubby gets ramen and I'll get the rice bowl. read more

I'm the biggest fan of Danbo but don't usually go there because there is always a line up on times I'm free. However, this time I went on a weekday (Thursday) around dinner time. There was still a 20min wait but it was sooo worth it. Danbo has a new curry flavour ramen which was SOOO good! I also got their iced tea that was pretty refreshing and perfect way to end a hot meal. Their gyozas were pretty good as well. I usually get thick noodles and a very rich dense broth which I think was perfect for their new curry flavour. Can't wait to go again!! read more

Ramen danbo, you were so good to me and I will think of you often. (Actually. No joke, I came here over the summer and think of danbo each time) Now on my second visit, I want to mention how quick the line moves so don't be discouraged. The menu if you haven't ordered ramen before can maybe be intimidating but have no fear it's all good. Not only that the staff are happy to help! Seating is tight and they work a tight ship of getting people in and out so know this isn't really the place to sit and play catch up with friends. Came here during lunch on a weekday. Surprisingly not a huge line. The choices are limited and you should know what you want when you order. The service is quick and food is good. Good portion sizes. Didn't expect to be so impressed by a chain ramen restaurant!! The flavour and customization options were fairly priced. The food came really quickly and service was friendly. I tried the classic and the Negi goma and I was surprised that the classic was my favourite! This location didn't have too big a line up during lunch over the weekend which was a nice bonus. New Danbo location with a much shorter wait but ramen is just as delicious as in Kitsilano. I went with their classic ramen and took advantage of their lunch combo getting 3 pieces gyoza and 2 added toppings. The ramen itself was nice and firm (like I requested) and the soup was very flavourful. I went with the tofu instead of the pork belly and there was nothing too special about it. Overall a good place in the area for ramen giving other nearby restaurants some competition. read more

The space is usually quite busy and there is a lineup, but today was a little different. I went at a not so busy time. The staff was nice and helpful with letting me know what I can order that does not have my allergies (fish). The presentation looks great! The food always hits the spot. My girlfriend and I have known of Ramen Danbo for awhile; we know that the downtown location is always packed, not to mention how long the line was. Just when we thought we would just wait until the hype went away, this new location just opened up on Kerrisadale!  Although the line was significantly shorter as Kerrisadale is usually not busy, we waited for almost 15 minutes (we were half way through the line). The interior is very small; tables are pretty much right next to each other, with very little space to walk with. I liked how the chairs are hidden "closets" where you can put your belongings.  We both ordered the classic ramen with extra toppings. The first sip of the soup was rich and creamy. I then mixed it with the hot sauce, and man, I have to say that you need to add it even if you can't handle spice! The whole broth changed tremendously, as if I had ordered another soup base; everything blended in nicely, and the sauce somehow made the broth even richer.  I ordered the cha shus for toppings since the menu said it comes with 6 slices, but the slices were thinly cut, and I would say it was 3 slices compared to the normal ones you see elsewhere. My girlfriend loves marinated eggs in ramen; she said that Danbo's eggs weren't as marinated, and they were also a bit overcooked.  We love how we can scan their digital stamp card to collect enough stamps for freebies! 5 stamps for free gyozas and 10 stamps for a free bowl of ramen.  Overall, we can see why Danbo has been so hyped up with lines of people every day at the downtown location. Affordable ramen with your freedom to choose whichever toppings to add; if you just want a bowl of ramen as a quick snack, you can just order by itself as it's not too filling! read more

We ordered takeout and I actually enjoyed their ramen much better than I remembered it. My first 2 times was at the Kits location. Could have been, I didn't go for the flavour soup. This time, I went medium fat and flavour. Love their thinner noodles, which is what they are known for. Will dine in next! read more

A chain restaurant is not my typical restaurant choice but I have to give them kudos for their model. I had watched some YouTube vlogs of people in Vancouver traveling to Japan's original spot and saying it was exactly the same delicious food. I like the effort they go to make the experience comfortable and quick. The line moves quickly and the food comes out piping hot and fresh. They do this all by having a great system. One person seats you and shows you that the stool has a compartment to place your bag and coat in, then hands you either a vegan or regular order sheet and pencil. She returns in a few minutes to collect the sheets and scans them and asks for any clarification. The food comes out a few minutes later. Let the slurping begin! I've been twice and have tried the classic with spicy oil and the miso with spicy oil. I prefer the classic. The charsu is very good with a nice balance to the fat to meat ratio. I always add the egg for the extra $1.25 because they are so good and jammy. I have been tempted to order the extra half order of noodles for $1 but I finish the soup too quickly. read more

Incredible ramen experience that we found by accident as visitors to Vancouver. Small line and very customizable menu for a bowl of ramen. For my first time, I had the tonkatsu ramen with firm noodles and standard flavorings (standard spicy was the perfect amount for someone who can't handle much spiciness but wanted that flavor). The "Kaedama" for $2 extra noodles was incredible too. I will definitely come here again the next time I visit Vancouver. read more

I was excited to go. First time I went by when there was no line-up, so we had lunch. My friend and I went. She ate only one thing different from me, pork on fried rice. She got super bad food poisoning. I won't be back. I'm pretty mad. She had to fly home to Germany today, and she was throwing up all day, with diarrhea. Super sick. I will never eat here again.
