We are a family of 6 (plus 2 dogs lol) traveling across country for a very special wedding. 10/5 was our anniversary and we didn't want to drive for it so we opted to stay a extra night in Nashville and enjoy the city with our family. As we were heading out to lunch our van started shaking. We have never had a mechanical issue with it and in a city we have never been to, it was pretty scary. I googled and for some reason Kirby's stood out. I called and was greeted by the kindest woman! She told me how to get there from where we were and to call back if anything else happens. We get there and immediately the owner came out and ran a diagnostic. We knew what was wrong without 2 min of pulling in. We were given a VERY fair price and a 1-2 hour window to have it complete! We opted to wait with the kids at the coffee shop up the road (also wonderful people). After the speedy repair I was so happy to see the price was the same, the work was completed and everything was great again! I wish I could put into words how amazing these people are! Everyone we spoke to only had impeccable reviews of their work! These are not people you find everyday, but they are some of the best this world has to offer! Aside from their excellent work, I will never in my life forget the kindness the entire staff showed to my family! First time I ever hugged a mechanic! I wanted to research before I left this review. I took my shop here because it was still under warranty and they were on the list. I had it towed there as to not cause anymore damage, I had ran the codes already left it in the car for them. After he inspects it. (187.00 lol) He calls and says warranty doesn't cover physical damage and that the connector wires were chewed by an animal. I mean how do you even know that. You could have just told them they weren't working, my thoughts but I don't know that process. He tells me it's going to be $600.00 was the first quote , which that's half my paycheck ( I'm like a lot of single women scraping by) He then says he got the part a little cheaper and I believe he quoted me $500.00. Total bill ended up being $399.00 of that LABOR! Which I found out the part can be bought for $24.00 my landlord sent me a screenshot and a video of the repair that he could have done in roughly 8 mins. He calls me after repair is made and says it needs another wire and that was $200 more. I said no thank you I will figure it out. He said it was drivable. The car is returned to me not completely fixed with check engine light on because I wasn't paying him another dime. So I set up a tow home because it's covered and he says well it jumps off. I started thinking if the battery wasn't connected it probably needed just started and driven which was the case. He automatically goes to well it's dead you can bring one and I will put it in for $87.00. WHATEVER! He didn't even know if it was truly bad and when I said doesn't it just need driven. He said well I don't know about that. You're an expensive mechanic and can't figure that out and naive gullible me did. I researched the warranty and it's in the shops best interest to not get paid by them as they don't pay their ridiculous prices, they are set. So it's basically in their best interest for the shop and the warranty company for customer to pay out of pocket. I have had this car for almost two years and have put maybe 7000 miles on it. I pay monthly for the warranty that I was told covers bumper to bumper. LIES I feel very taken advantage of and I'm definitely learning my lesson from this. I hope this just encourages someone to do your due diligence before handing your car over to people that are going to take advantage of you. Oh when I told him my battery was fine he said oh well we started it and ran it for an hour. What? That sounds like bullshit to me. read more

I highly recommend Kirby's GARAGE. I found them in a jam when my AC went out in our extended 95 degree heat wave. They were the only ones to offer and suggest I come on late that Friday afternoon for a diagnosis. It was a bigger problem as a rock had pierced tbe compressor. I went to Kirby's to fix my overheating engine due to a coolant leak. They ran a diagnostic on my Jeep and said that they were going to find the leak and fix it. I got a call back the next day when they said they had a chance to look at it and they said "bad news, there is a leak in the driver side head gasket. Between parts and labor the fix will be around $11,000." I was in disbelief, my Jeep does not even have 80k miles on it. They told me it would be around the same price to get a whole new engine rather than fixing the existing one. Me being inexperienced with cars, I thought that this was the end for my Jeep. Realizing my frustration over the phone, the owners son mentioned that his dad might be willing to buy the Jeep off of me. THIS was the red flag that pushed me to ask around and see if anyone knew of a good mechanic. After talking to friends and family I found a mechanic who said that based on what the diagnostic said, things were not adding up. Long story short, I get the Jeep towed to the new mechanic and he runs his own analysis, located the leak, and repaired it for me for $1,800. A FRACTION of the cost. In short, if you don't know much about cars and want to find a trustworthy mechanic. DO NOT start your search here at Kirby's. They are not good or honest mechanics. I just moved to the area and needed my brakes replaced on one of my vehicles. I looked on yelp and found Kirby's about 5 min from our home. Lamont answered the phone and said I could bring the car by that day for an inspection. I was very impressed with his customer service. They got the parts next day and finished the job less expensively than my previous two quotes from another state. They probably would have finished everything the same day had I dropped off my car earlier. My favorite thing about this shop is the sign I saw hanging by the register. I'll be back. read more

Wanted to share my recent experience with Kirby's Garage at the Marathon gas station on Hillsboro in Grassland. I've been having brake problems and took it by yesterday. Susan was extremely kind and helpful. Customer service was excellent. I left my car but they quickly called to let me know the problem. They informed me that my car was still under warranty and I should be able to have the problem fixed at a dealership at no charge. They said they did not feel comfortable doing the work and charging me for it when I could have it done under warranty. Who does that?! Hard to find honest service these days, and Kirby's exceeded by expectations. We've had a good experience with them before, and this cements it. Take your car to them. At the very least, you can expect affordable pricing and honest work. read more

I was looking for an auto repair shop with integrity so I checked out Yelp to see what some of the reviews of various shops were like. That is what led me to Kirby's Garage. It is a bit of a drive from Nolensville but if it is a good shop, it's worth the trip. I took my car in for an overall check of my car's braking system. Kirby's said my vehicle's front brakes looked pretty good but the rear brake pads were getting a bit low. I gave the go ahead for a rear brake job and it was completed relatively quickly while I waited. Before too long my car was ready and I paid my bill and headed for home. Two days later a braking issue arose and I brought the vehicle back so the problem could be rectified. They got right on it and made the necessary adjustments. Hey, nobody is perfect and people make mistakes, even mechanics. Mitch Kirby was more than fair and went above and beyond to compensate me for my time and inconvenience. This is the last place you would want to take your car. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. My daughter took her car there. They magically find issues that aren't actually problems. I thought maybe it was a fluke until I saw the other reviews reporting the EXACT same thing. They overcharge and under perform. They will run out of people to con eventually. If you take your car there, expect to get a call about all the things they found wrong that will cost thousands to fix. There are plenty of honest shops in town. This is absolutely not one of them. I don't expect it to improve, as this way of doing business comes straight from the owner. read more

I took my truck in to get the air serviced and they charge my 220.00. Two days later air stoped working. The air compressor was going out. Then they gave me a estimate for 1400.00. That would had been a 1620.00 mistake if I took their bate. So I bought a compressor for 125.00 on eBay and Super Exspress Lube in Franklin charge my 220.00 to install it and charged it. Wow! Talk about Hwy Robbery. What a smooth talker he is I will say. I highly do not recommend anyone to go there for anything. read more

Recently moved to the area and needed to get an oil change. They were able to do it while I waited for about the same price as one of those oil change franchises. The people were friendly and didn't try to upsell me on unnecessary services - like the franchise places try to do. They said my break pads would need to be replaced in the near future and I will go back to Kirby's for that. read more
