$8,000+ repair quote and a false sense that everything critically important had been thoroughly addressed. It hadn't. Buried in their lengthy report was a bad battery listed at $129. Simple fix, right? Should have been flagged as a priority -- a bad battery affects nearly every system in the car. Instead, it got lost in the noise of their bloated report. I didn't catch it until a couple weeks later when the problem persisted. Went back to get just the battery replaced and was charged over $600. For a battery. That was quoted at $129 in their own report. When I questioned it, the owner was dismissive, condescending, and completely unapologetic. No explanation, no accountability -- just attitude. Here's my warning to anyone considering this place: Eric Eagleson has zero interest in being fair or transparent. He and Jeff see customers, particularly women who may not have a mechanical background as easy targets rather than people deserving of honest service. That's not just bad business, it's predatory. My 2013 Honda pilot had the transmission go out on a recent trip from Memphis to Knoxville. over the Labor day weekend. A friend of mine in Nashville had a neighbor who worked for this shop and so I had it towed there. During the weekend I researched what it may cost to have repaired. This shop quoted me over $9,000! It was almost exactly $4000 more that the local Honda dealership quoted. I asked questions to make sure I was comparing apples and I was. I feel that he was taken advantage of the fact it was already at his shop and I was from out of town. If I could add photos of the receipt I would. Also there is a sign by the register that states there is a $1000 charge for bad checks. I paid his $200+ check out fee and picked my vehicle up. read more

This is the first time that I have been to Grassland, and the staff was so kind and knowledgeable and they were extremely honest about pricing. In addition to fixing my passenger side window for a reasonable price, they offered me a loaner vehicle for the two days it would take for the part to come in, at no cost to me with the exception of gas. To speak more about their kindness, I am a person who has very little knowledge on cars. I meant to learn about it, and I forgot. But Jeff and Sara were very no nonsense and I did not feel like they were trying to take advantage of someone who clearly didn't know what she was talking about. Grassland Car Care WRECKED my car! Brought my VW Passat in on April 1. They told me it was fixed on April 3. Picked it up and drove it less than 5 miles and same problems. Brought it back on April 6 and it took them until April 8 to say they fixed it. But wait! One of their mechanics took it for a test drive and decided that he needed to play with the radio while driving and rear ended another car and totaled my car!! The garage's insurance company low balled me on their offer to replace my car with same exact car. I asked the owner to make up the difference and he declined but offered me free pre-purchase inspection on a new car! The NERVE!! Like I would bring another car there!! read more

Ask questions! I brought my car in for new brakes as per dealership advice. (I normally always go to the dealership, but thought I would try to support local.) I had requested pricing on the phone but was told it couldn't be provided without seeing the vehicle and getting a vin #. Ok, I ASSUMED it would be about the same price as the dealership quote maybe a little more. I will admit that was on me, NEVER assume. When I dropped the vehicle off, I told them this and there were no noticeable issues, just routine maintenance. The bill was over $200 more than the dealership quote! There was a $70 brake diagnosis fee that I didn't understand and it was explained to me that they did a total brake diagnostics so that's what that was. I didn't ask for that, so I was a bit upset. Again, I know I didn't ask enough questions so I paid the bill and will go back to the dealer next time. I'm disappointed because I would like to support local business and the people were friendly, but I can't afford to over pay that much! read more

Beware! We have gone to Grassland for years and up to about a year ago we felt we were being treated fairly. We had some maintenance done and the price for the work done was twice what i thought it should be. I just dismissed it based on the good will they had accumulated with me over the years. This time we went back for a catalytic converter replacement and got a quote of $4400. I finally decided to look elsewhere. Just got the same exact work done for $960. I don't know if ownership or management has changed, but they have completely lost my trust. Proceed cautiously. read more

Is your pet peeve being "nickel and dimed" by an automotive shop (or any service for that matter?). Well, besides excellent, courteous customer care AND top notch auto service, rest assured GCC will take care of you. Tim and the guys there have done me right so many times with so many vehicles it's silly. They have a fleet of loaner cars, making it incredibly convenient to drop your vehicle off and be on your way. And they often simply throw in the little things. Because they have integrity. They actually put their money where their mouth is. Give them a shot. Unless you're an unreasonable, unrealistic crank who no one can satisfy (I'm hopeful you're not) you'll become a GCC customer for life. Mark my words. read more

This is my daughters car and it had a noise from the front end. After a couple of days, they called and said they were still trying to figure it out and wanted to check the torque on suspension bolts and grease the ball joints( which are new, by the way). A day later I was called saying that all that did little good and they THOUGHT I now needed motor mounts. How much? $3,200! I declined and paid them $ 400.00, collected my keys and told them I and my daughter would come by after hours to get it. When we came later that night to get it, I noticed heavy condensation on the windshield and windows, we had torrential rain the past few days in the area and the next day we discovered a POOL of water in the back passenger footwell and the back seat was soaked and covered in leaves! I call Grassland to tell them they had left the window down at some point and soaked the back seat. The manager, Jeff, immediately asked if that car had a sunroof because they are bad about leaking. This car has never leaked a drop of water, EVER. Jeff finally agreed, actually he said I"I give you my word"to get a detail man to clean the interior. That was a week ago and NOTHING. I spent $400 to get the opportunity to use my Shop Vac to suck 2 gallons of water out of the car's interior because these incompetent crooks left the passenger rear window down during a rain storm , rolled it back up when they saw it before they went home and never said a word and still won't admit that they did it. Jeff said," My guys said the window wasn't ever down". I informed him that someone was LYING. This will now go to small claims court complete with recorded conversations with Jeff and video of the soaked interior and leaves in the back seat and floorboard. I suppose the leaves also came in through the same sunroof leak! These guys are irresponsible liars. STAY AWAY! read more

BEWARE of this place!! They installed an after-market ill-fitting front axle (for $750) on my 2014 Toyota Sienna van which led to a complete failure of my transmission (at only 64k miles!!) as I was driving on the interstate AT NIGHT by myself!!! Luckily I was able to pull over safely to the shoulder where I waited for a tow truck....I did not have my vehicle for 2 WEEKS (I am a busy Mom of 3)!! Grassland Car Care did refund me the $750 for the INCORRECT PART they installed HOWEVER... I had to get a proper Toyota axle (for another $750) installed as well as pay for a NEW TRANSMISSION ($2200 with warranty) which they would NOT cover because they said I couldn't prove it. What!? As Toyota was installing my new transmission, they called & said there is an "after-market non-Toyota front passenger axle that is on your van...it is too bulky, doesn't fit properly & is preventing the new transmission from being installed." Toyota said to me it was likely this incorrect axle that caused the transmission to fail. I wanted to love this place because I live in Grassland & it is so convenient. But they have completely disappointed me & cost me $2200 right before Christmas for a 2014 van that had NO ISSUES before I went to them. DO NOT GO TO GRASSLAND CAR CARE!!! read more

on 3/28/18 I spent $1277.01, on 3/13/18 I spent $754.24, on 3/8/18 I spent $1307.46. These amounts = $3338.73 and yes that was on 1 vehicle. The vehicle broke down on me 3 times during this frustrating time period. The vehicle was a 96 dodge ram van worth 2k. I know I was stupid for spending that much on an old vehicle but I loved the vehicle. I also trusted the counter guys when they told me that the problem was fixed. The plan was to get all of the fluids changed, aligned wheels, spark plugs on the pick up truck, and then realized there was a need for some hoses and shocks. They did a great job finding the best price for the parts and it was surprisingly more reasonable than expected thanks to the hard work of Trevor.
