Never underestimate the power of a good cookie. Kirsties Kookies are my life line when I run out of cookies from Hawaii. My fav is da Almond for its tender bite size goodness- lightly sweet, perfectly crumbly, hint of almond and da red dot. Peanut butter and choc chip are the thin and crisp type- dangerously snackable. Stop by Nikkei Traditions in Jtown and purchase by the bag or jar. read more

Wow. These are exceptional cookies. Takahashi market in San Mateo sells the tubs for $18 and smaller packages for $5.50. Da chocolate chip kookie is so good. Almond cookies, teeny and melt in the mouth. Dangerous - can devour so many in one sitting. read more

Every once in awhile, even as not a huge fan of cookies in general, you run across something delightful: extra crunchy, crispy chocolate chip cookies - that you can even buy without the chips if you want to make yourself feel better :) Found these at Takahashi Market in San Mateo and snapped them right up. $3.99 for a 5 oz package (about 12 cookies). I'd love to order more for a party sometime! read more

My husband and I recently discovered Kirsties Kookies At a local Hawaiin ukuele meet up at chabot college. We met debbie and her husband and made of purchase of the shortbead kookies they were perfect !! We tried to contact her and purchase more which can be either online or through stores mentioned on the web page or at Events. My husband Jon does a monthly Ukuele meet-up At the hiltop Richmond YMCA No memebership needed we meet second friday of the month. We wanted to take treats and Debbie is so kind and very generous she donated 8 dozen all varieties for the group to try out today. We've been buying Kirstie's Kookies since Aunty Debbie's daughter, (Kirstie) was about 8 years old. Now she's a young lady. Our favorite is the "Shortbread Kookies". My dad always already knows that we will bring him a container of the yummy Kookies! Every now and then, they will even sell Kookie Krums!! TRULY MADE WITH ALOHA!! I saw their booth at the Kumu Hula Festival at the Alameda County Fairgrounds and they were giving out samples unlike many of the other food vendors. Naturally once I tried these delicious, crunchy cookies, I was hooked. Shortbread Oatmeal and Kaki Mochi were the ones I bought - small bags are $5. Kaki Mochi is like a pecan sandie but with Japanese rice paper chunks instead of pecans. I just wish I had bought a large jar for $25! Small jars are $15. If you see Kirstie's Kookies, you gotta get some! read more

Bought a small bag of these at a gift store in Japantown, San Jose. They are light, crispy, the chocolate flavorful and enough per cookie; truly just an amazing cookie. When I tried to look up Kirstie's Kookies on yelp. I was surprised that they were not on here! I heart Kirstie's Kookies sooo much. This kookie (cookie) company has booths at local hawaiian events. I just recently saw them at the Aloha Festival in SF. I bought the biggest box of chocolate chip cookies. They are crispy and yummy! When you bite into the cookie it is crispy and light, but it kinda melts in your mouth at the same time. They also have a chocolate chip-less cookie. Thats yummy too. I've only tried these two kinds. They have more cookies too! read more

Usually love Kirstie's Kookies, and would have given 5 Stars, but after this last experience, was terribly disappointed. We made a special trip to the Bay Area Aloha Fest just to get the 2 big jars of the kookies, as we love them that much. After breaking into the first jar, my daughters' wouldn't eat them, and said they tasted burnt. I can definitely see that they are a little over-cooked. Now I am stuck eating them myself, instead of enjoying them together. We will continue to support Kirstie's, but just be aware of this problem for next time. Thanks. read more

These are some of the best cookies. They are not too sweet and are crisp. Be warned, they are addictive. My children prefer these cookies over any store bought cookies. When I bring these home, the smiles can not be beat. You just can not get better, chocolate chip, peanut butter (there is a wide variety) or other varieties. YOU WILL NOT REGRET ORDERING. read more

In the past, water was available in small jars, but now it's set up in a larger dispenser. After ordering ice cream, we went to grab some water, but it had run out. I let the staff member in front know, and she kindly explained that they were out, which I completely understood. However, another staff member suddenly commented that there was no water and that if I wanted some, I should buy and pay for it. It was a bit surprising--not because of the policy, but because of the tone, which came across as a bit harsh. Maybe she was just having a bad day, which I can understand, but the delivery didn't feel very welcoming. I want to emphasize that I have no issue paying for water at all; in fact, I planned to go back to the car after ice cream to get water since we parked nearby. It was just the way it was said that didn't sit well. I didn't say anything at the moment since I understand everyone can have off days, but I do think consistency in how customers are spoken to is important--others might not take that tone as lightly. When I sat down, another staff member came over and offered my family water. If you happen to read this--thank you. Your kindness really meant a lot to us. Overall, we still enjoy coming here for the great ice cream, generous portions, and the cozy atmosphere. I want to add the food and tea were more positively memorable for me compared to other tearooms that I went to in the city - the food tasted way better to me at the Hen and Drake Modern Tearoom. It's a small but gorgeous tearoom that seats about 26ish people total. We opted for their cream tea option which is a personal pot of tea and 2 scones per person. My spouse is a pretty picky so unfortunately they dislike most tea sandwiches but loves scones so it's the perfect option for us. We also grabbed a couple counter desserts to try. My spouse got the blueberry darjeeling and I got the rose chai. Both were delicious but we liked the blueberry better if we had to pick one. We got a strawberry eclaire and a duck egg creme brulee as our counter desserts. The creme brulee was to die for and we found out that duck eggs were from the owners personal ducks do they agree as fresh and healthy as you can get knowing exactly what the ducks are fed. They had actually run out of scones when we got there and were very apologetic and transparent on the bake time needed. They offered to remove the scones from our bill if we didn't want to wait but we gladly waited and enjoyed our desserts first. The scones came out maybe 5 minutes after we finished the desserts and they checked in with us again. They were fresh out of the oven and served with faux Devonshire cream and a housemade cherry compote from local cherries. They were well worth the wait. If I had any suggestions it would be to make a reservation option for cream tea on their website as I totally would have made a reservation but it only had the option for afternoon tea reservations.
