My husband and I order from Kislings a decent amount since it is so close to our house and a fast and easy walk for carry-out. As far as food goes, I think the wings are the only thing that's good and consistent. I'm not that big into wings (I know-what's wrong with me?) but my husband orders them every time and is always satisfied and even recently purchased one of their bottled wing sauces. I have ordered a variety of food and the taste and quality seem to deteriorate each year. We recently did another carry-out order and, remembering it being pretty good the last time I had it (maybe last year?), I chose the chicken cheese steak. Well, the sub was a huge disappointment. The chicken lacked any flavor and was sliced up in big chunks-not the normal shaved/thin slices of meat. I had about 4 bites before I gave up trying to like it. I think the best part of the meal was the chips that came with it. After being disappointed several times with a variety of food, I think we will only get wings at Kislings from here on out. I could see how the wings could have been good. Maybe it was the time of day. They came out pretty fast but were very hard and dry like they had been cooked hours before. By far the best wings in town. They are juicy and flavorful. The meat just falls off the bones. The bar screams dive and only further adds to the charm. Only one reason to go here - WINGS. They have some of the best wings in the city - by a long shot. On Sundays they have a wing special, I think they are up to a quarter per wing now - so 3 bucks for a dozen (which makes them about 1/2 price on Sundays). Skip all the fancy wings and just get the good old fashioned hot wings - just the right level of heat, meaty, and deliciously bad for you. Have also had the steamed shrimp and steamed clams, both of which were good. I think Tuesdays they have 1/2 priced burgers...might be Wednesdays, either way, they are good as well. Spent time here last Sunday to watch football (thank you for showing more than just the home team!!), and to grab some wings. We weren't disappointed in the wings, which are the closest to those I can get 'back home' in Buffalo. The original has a good kick without overpowering the taste, but be warned.. they are very saucy! My husband had the french dip and was a bit disappointed as the flank steak they used was tough and chewy, lacking flavor. He was far happier with the wings. If you work or live in Fells Point then do yourself a favor and never order from Kisling's. I ordered a Plain Jane chicken breast sandwich and it was dry. I also ordered a cup of Maryland crab soup and it was the worst I've ever tasted. In addition they did not provide a spoon or napkins. I called and explained the situation and that I was at work excepted to have a spoon to eat my soup. The employee said oh well things happen and hung up the phone. Best wings in Baltimore! A great neighborhood bar, you definitely have to check Kisling's out during Happy hour, which on Fridays lasts until 7pm for food and drinks. You cannot beat the $5 wings and the 1/2 priced drafts. I highly recommend the original flavored wings, which are hot . My wife loves the blackened fish special, usually it is Mahi Mahi or Salmon served over a Greek salad which is also inexpensive at $9. The wings were beefy and no lacking. It came with ranch and celery. The business itself is definitely not a NICE place, but more for locals. I had a surprise 45th birthday for my husband upstairs at Kisling's Tavern. I dealt with Justin to reserve the date and order the food. I ordered 140 crab balls, 100 buffalo wings, 8 pounds of steamed shrimp, 2 3' American cold cut subs, and a vegetable tray. I brought in a fruit tray and sheet cake from Sam's Club. The food was set up nicely and tasted great. They supplied tables, chairs, real plates, plastic forks, paper napkins, and condiments. Darryl was our bartender and Dan was the bar back. The tv's and radio worked well. I say the party space is great for 25 to 30 people, even though their website says up to 75 people. There is a fully stocked bar upstairs, but no bathroom, so guests will have to walk down the steps and use the bar bathroom. They don't have pool tables anymore, they do have two dart boards, but make sure they have darts or bring your own because they didn't have any for my party. Remember, this place is in Canton, so they don't have a parking lot, so guests may have to park a couple blocks away and walk or take a cab. Overall everyone was nice to deal with and the party went well. I received many compliments on the party and most importantly, my husband was surprised and happy. read more

The wings are the best in town. A must for the Super Bowl, The burgers are good, but today I waited an extended time for a medium rare burger that was well done. I didn't say anything because it took so long. I was seated at the bar for lunch next to an obnoxious guy who talked about a murder not far away. "The area's all Hispanic, now." Well, that was enough for me. He disgustingly flirted with Ann Marie the barkeeper. After he told her to stop singing because I would soon be getting my food, she told him "F--- off." I want to first start off by saying that I've been here a few times since moving into the neighborhood, and have really enjoyed the food each time. My most recent trip, however, was a pretty bad experience, most likely will be the reason I don't return and stop recommending this place to my friends. We went there for the first half (so we thought) of the NFL games on a Sunday. The server was new, and messed up/forgot our drink orders a couple times but it happens and we weren't too concerned about that. When we asked for our check, she initially brought it back a few minutes after, without the Happy Hour deals entered but asked if we wanted to split it based on what we got. Since it was being offered to us, we agreed as it would have been easier for us but would have been fine splitting just one big check. It wasn't until a full 30 minutes later when she returned with the checks, but they were for the wrong tables. At this point, we were already getting a bit frustrated but hey, it happens. The waitress, and a few other staff members, along with the manager were seen around the computer working on the bill and we were told they were having system issues. Again, despite the increase in impatience, it happens but an apology at the time would have been nice. 50 minutes after asking for our check, the full check gets brought out (decided to give up on trying to split it into individual checks which i wish they did 40 minutes ago). As we are getting our cards out and getting ready to pay, the manager comes up to us and starts using excuses to address the problem. He stated that the waitress was new and struggling with the system, and then the computer was having trouble trying to "keep up with what she entered." Okay, we weren't looking for an excuse but an apology from the manager would have been nice. We explained that we had asked for our check 50 minutes ago, and had wished that they told us they were having issues with it because we would have gladly payed on an individual check had we known. IT was then when the manager starts raising his voice and complains about us giving an attitude. The whole time, we just wanted to pay and get out of there as we already wasted close to an hour sitting around. He continues to be nasty, asking what we want and from him and we simply just want to pay. It gets to the point where he tells us in a rude tone to just get out of here and not pay if we are going to be such "trouble." We disagreed despite the bad service and still wanted to just pay our check and get out of there, but the manager continued to cause a lot of grief. He remained in our faces to the point where once he told us to forget about paying, we put our cards away and left. Throughout this whole process, we did not receive one apology. If this comment were to be read by management of Kislings, I would hope that going forward, if a situation like this comes up, please don't handle it this way. A discount on our check or drinks would have seemed like a more proper way to fix the situation, but for the manager to come up and be nasty about it and make excuses, after us patiently waiting close to an hour, and not even receive an apology for the situation? I'm sorry but that just isn't right. read more

A lot of people I work with have mixed feelings about Kislings and for some reason it seems to be a very polarizing restaurant. The chief complaints I heard were mostly about its atmosphere and I have to agree it has a bit of a funky odor from all the spilled beer every weekend (they play a lot of drinking games upstairs). That said the wings are seriously some of the best I've ever had and the kislings cheesesteak will not disappoint. The staff has been good everytime I've been there, the prices are fair and the portions are generous. If you're on the fence as to try it or not, go on a nice spring day when they have the doors open and get the wings. read more
