    Sashimi Platter

I had a great experience overall and would definitely come back. The restaurant is beautiful, with a modern Japanese-inspired design, comfortable seating, and a relaxing atmosphere. The koi pond at the entrance is a nice touch and creates a welcoming first impression. The sushi was the highlight of the meal. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and tasted just as good as it looked. The sashimi had excellent texture, and the creative spoon appetizers were colorful, balanced, and full of fresh flavors. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in both presentation and quality. The only area that needs improvement is the cocktail program. I ordered the French 75, and unfortunately it missed the mark. The drink lacked the bright citrus and sparkling character that makes this classic cocktail so enjoyable. It was served over ice, which diluted it quickly and left it tasting watery. Traditionally, a French 75 is served without ice, so I was disappointed by the execution. Service was friendly, and the food arrived beautifully plated. With sushi this fresh and an atmosphere this inviting, I would happily return. If the bar team refines its classic cocktails and pays closer attention to proper preparation, this restaurant could easily earn a full five-star review from me.

Fantastic dining experience! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and comfortable seating. You aren't sitting on top of eachother. The service was excellent and the food was tasty. We were celebrating our anniversary so we splurged a bit. We tried the "Foodgasm" 2 spoons with unagi, A5 waygu for $35. This was definitely something I would never order normally. The fish was fresh and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Next time we will give the hibachi table a try. Perfect date night meal.

    Beautiful interior.

We have visited here once before. Today was a holiday and was , as expected, very busy. We had a reservation for 6:45. We arrived at 6:30. We reserved the hibachi table. By 7:00, we were led to a table, but not the hibachi table. We corrected our hostess who apologized. We then waited another 20 minutes. We were finally led to the correct table. We sat there with 8 other people for at least 10 minutes before water was brought and we were greeted... ok. That's the negative stuff. Everything after that was pretty awesome. Great presentation, funny chef. Excellent food preparation. One of the guest's orders was not accounted for... the unfortunate gentleman had to wait another additional ten minutes after everyone else had already been served. He was gracious about it. To be honest, this is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food. I would avoid it on holidays.

The place looks great, clean, and very open. A radical change from Cracker Barrel. Our habachi chef was entertaining and good with the kids. And cooked everything to order. The miso soup was bland and tasteless, like a buffet version of miso. My primary criticism is the sushi. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls, didn't taste fresh. I've had better sushi from market of choice. My mom also asked for the sashimi plate and asked for a couple substitutions, and they restaurant said they don't do substitutions. For the price of everything I would expect better quality food. However if I return, I will focus on the hibachi meals.

A brand new restaurant w great service and food. There is a hibachi section and sushi section. Which we stayed on the sushi and love every moment. Andrew took great care of us! Thanks!!

The service here is good, Performers are nice! Been here two times and have yet to have a bad experience. I got to try the sushi and wagyu combo with steak fried rice. If there is leftover fried rice they will offer it up to guests.

GOODBYE BENIHANA, HELLO AJISAI! Went to Ajisai Sushi & Steak, located in Beaverton, last night. What a great experience! Even though I love hibachi style dining, I was a little apprehensive at first because this used to be a Cracker Barrel restaurant, so I wasn't expecting much in the way of ambience and decor. BOY WAS I WRONG! This place was stunning inside. Huge, beautiful artwork, all handmade, in a beautifully designed open space Japanese restaurant. Something I learned that evening is that the word "Ajisai" means hydrangea, which happens to be my favorite flower. We had been craving hibachi style dining for both the show and the food, and we were not disappointed. Both the performance and the meal were exceptional. At the door, we were greeted by Hazim, who welcomed us and told us what we could expect as first-timers. Our server, Aliyah, (who told us to call her Lea), was fairly new to waiting, but we could not tell. Her attitude and attention to detail was both professional, attentive, and extremely welcoming. We never lacked in service. Our MasterChef, Joseph, was both professional, entertaining, and a great educational guide for our dining experience at this place. We both ordered the New York strip and tiger prawns, with a strawberry sake that was a little too sweet for our taste, but as you can see from the pictures we would probably return just for the bar, which looks beautiful on its own. Our entire experience was great and we will definitely be back. But I did want to say that initially, when we were considering coming here, we noticed a number of complaints about long waits. What we discovered is that was due to soft-openings and not spreading out their reservations during Valentine's Day. But , not to worry, they have addressed this issue and we had no problem and were seated promptly. Lastly, I heard (but haven't confirmed), that Benihana uses frozen foods, whereas Ajisai says their is all fresh. Everything tasted great. I think you'll really enjoy this place. The ambiance, staff, service, and food are a winner for us.

I really wanted to enjoy this hibachi experience, but unfortunately it fell short in several areas. The restaurant was clearly understaffed. There was one poor server trying her absolute best to manage four full hibachi tables -- about 40 people total. She was running nonstop, and while I genuinely felt bad for her, the service suffered because of it. We didn't even get our order taken until 45 minutes after we sat down. Our water glasses sat empty most of the meal, and we had to flag her down twice just to get refills. By the time we finally got water again, it was basically at the very end of the meal and we were dying of thirst. We were there for over two hours, which would've been fine if the service had flowed properly -- but instead, everything felt slow and disorganized. In the end, we had to rush out to make my appointment, which added unnecessary stress to the experience. The one major highlight was our chef, TRE. He was absolutely amazing -- engaging, entertaining, and clearly talented. He was the bright spot of the evening and the only reason this review isn't one star. As for the food, it was decent but definitely overpriced for what you get. For the cost, I expected a much smoother experience overall. We both got the filet mignon and chicken combo which is $50 each. For a few bites of chicken and steak you're just paying for the show. I hope management addresses the staffing issues because the potential is there -- especially with chefs like TRE.

We came in on the 2nd day and it wasn't busy yet! Itis a huge space with options for private dining too. We sat at the bar and received great service! My sister stepped away to use the restroom and they made sure to wait for her to return before doing the dry ice on our sashimi appetizer. We just tried a few things since we weren't hungry. We only came in because we were driving by and saw they finally opened! In addition to all the delicious sushi, the presentation was gorgeous. We didn't get any hibachi today but did get a preview of the fire show and that made us excited to come back!

Even the baby enjoyed the show!

The food is always super fresh and delicious. The chef was very engaging and funny. This is one of our go-to places when we are in the Beaverton area. The service was outstanding and the ambiance, very inviting and beautifully decorated.

Very nice atmosphere here and our server Amanda was very attentive to our needs. Kept checking in on us and had excellent recommendations. The food and sushi were delicious and it was reflected in the price. No value meals here. I'd definitely go back. I'd like to go to the hibachi bar section next time. It sounded like there was a show going on back there.

Spicy crispy rice - part of $40 bento

We came in at 3:05. Guess the weekday lunch special ends at 3pm, although the menu doesn't specify the time periods for lunch?? So being that we paid dinner prices, which were quite expensive, I'm going to be brutally honest in this review. Appearance: The interior is 100% nicer than the exterior. Lots of Asian artwork and touches. Parking: lots of parking as this is the former Beaverton Cracker Barrel. Menu: lots of pricey options. Definitely not a family restaurant. Service: our server was Hannah T and she was friendly Food: Miso soup was a little watery. We both ordered the $40 bento (cheapest meal choice available). I had the spicy crispy rice and teriyaki steak option. Hubby had the teriyaki chicken and assorted tempura. Crispy rice came out first and about five minutes later, the rest of the meal came. Overall, the salad dressing was very tasty, the California rolls were horrible as the sushi rice didn't taste right at all! Even Grocery store sushi rice tastes better than this did. I couldn't explain it, it was just really weird. The tempura was good but the sauce did not have grated radish in it. The chicken was soft but very plain with hibachi sauce poured over it. The steak, which I ordered medium rare and came well done, tasted like hamburger or liver with hibachi sauce pour over it. Not good. And the gyoza was tasteless. I'm not kidding when I say the best part was the salad dressing and the tempura (minus the missing grated radish in the sauce). Even the plain rice was plain... meaning it's not Japanese rice but tasted more like Hinode brand - cheap. Will we come back? Most likely not. Too pricey for these flavor flaws. Such a disappointment.

Basically Benihana but cleaner. Very expensive. Staff is nice, but be careful they don't wedge you at a table with too many people so you can't even eat without touching the person next to you.

Celebrated my son's birthday at this newly opened place.

They do have a large menu besides sushi so I've been branching out into their other items. This time I tried the miso ramen, and the broth was flavorful, not too salty, and it felt complete without needing to order extra add-ins. Better than some dedicated ramen shops I've been to. They might still get busy on weekends, but we went on a weeknight, it was pretty quiet and the food came out quickly.

My partner and I have been craving sushi and wanted to try a new spot, Noa Sushi was heavily…read morerecommended online- and I'm so glad we gave it a try! Their menu is pretty large, with so many options to choose from if you're not really wanting sushi or just wanting to change it up a bit. We were sat down pretty promptly for a walk in at 6 pm! The space was nice to sit down with friends and loved ones for a bite to eat. We came starved, so we practically ordered the whole menu hahah. Nigiri: the salmon was superb. Very sweet, melt in your mouth, perfect mouthfeel! That was our first bite of the day and it really set the tone for the rest of what we ordered. We then had the kanpachi, madai, escolar, and ikura. I really enjoyed the madai and the escolar. Those were both buttery but had a great texture/chew. The kanpachi was fine, I wasn't expecting it to be slightly charred, but that's a personal preference! Next was the ika and the Hokkaido scallop. The Ika was delicious! Everywhere I go I always order the ika, and the Ika here was just as tasty and chewy. They added a shiso leaf with it, giving it more of a different flavor profile, slightly spiced/bitter. But I quite enjoyed that. The Hokkaido scallop was soo incredibly tasty. It was soft, bouncy, and sweet! No fishiness that can sometimes be found with scallops imo. Lastly for nigiri we got the spot shrimp. I thought this was just okay, similar to how I felt about the ikura. Not bad but there were better hits with the nigiri we ordered. Rolls: hamachico was my favorite roll we got out of the two. The yellowtail was so light tasting it almost felt like a palate cleanser with all the food we ordered, it was really good I'd order this again! The lobster roll was okay, I think the chunks of fried lobster on it was great, the base was like a slightly more elevated California roll as my partner described it. It was overall good. Negimaki: this was so so juicy with each bite and full of flavor! Would definitely order this one again. Lobster karaage: the breading to lobster was spot on. These were large fluffy chunks of lobster with just the perfect amount of crunchy breading. Paired with the spicy mayo and the tartar sauce- so delish! Miso soup: it was packed with clams, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, scallops, tofu, etc. the pot was PACKED. I didn't even get a photo, but I absolutely loved this. I'm not really a miso soup girl, but seeing how much others raved about it, we had to order it and I'm so glad we did. Best miso soup I've ever had! The star of the dinner was their ankimo, hands down. I've tried so many others, but this was so soft, creamy, perfect umami. I would've ordered seconds if we didn't have so much other food already. Overall dinner was delicious, and I definitely have my eye on so many other menu items to try next time!
