I have had this crap kitchen for years. Drawers would fall apart if you pulled too hard on them, I could never find anything in the back of the cabinet and that "hot plate" made of 4 small ugly tiles. I finally jumped in and found Khoi via Yelp. I pretty much had a vision of the kitchen as you see it (the floors will be done in a bit, I acid stained the rest of my house and will do the same here). When I went into the store I definitely got distracted and, thankfully Khoi kept me focused. This is an 8x9 kitchen but there was just under 200 sqft of tile to remove. Done in 2w and the budget intact! Just one little glitch that we took care of quickly. They cleaned up after themselves and Khoi always communicated delays and expectations in the schedule. His cabinet and countertop guy was sort of on his own schedule but if Khoi felt he needed it, he would give him a deadline for tasks. These cabinets are top notch. The KBB team was absolutely amazing. They helped us every step of the way and covered things that we didn't even think of like calling our HOA to check about plumbing, working outside etc. We are total newbies to remodeling, but once we told Sai and the KBB team what we were looking for and our budget they gave us recommendations and best realistic options without pushing us to spend more. Excellent professionalism and attention to detail! We decided to use them after seeking two other quotes. We checked Yelp and, after speaking with them and having them come to our house, decided that they offered us what we were looking for at a very reasonable price. They remodeled our two bathrooms, and did so as professionally as we could have hoped for. They have a small show room in Kearny Mesa we visited a few times. All employees, from our main point person, Sai, to the worker who promptly came to our house each day, Xing, we felt we received excellent work, excellent advice, and excellent follow up. They showed up without fail, took care of any unexpected issues without a problem, and cleaned up carefully each and every day. Xing was such a tireless worker and, thankfully, such a perfectionist! Sometimes he wasn't cleaning up until 6 p.m., and it wasn't because he was slacking. He never slacked off. I had my master bathroom and downstairs bathroom remodeled 2 years ago. We've gotten a few quotes from other places, and KBB was the most reasonable, taken into the account of both labor and materials. They really did a great job, as we've had many compliments from family and friends. What's more, they are always responsive to our questions and requests. He came out, measured and prepared a 3D rendering of what the new kitchen would look like, and helped me pick the finishes. Hands down, well deserving of a 5 star review! On time, on budget, fair price, and fantastic customer service which really says it all. We found KBB through prior Yelp and Google reviews and could not be happier that we chose to contract with them. We had a somewhat large renovation project (a complete re-do down to the studs for a big kitchen with high end appliances, master bath with a complex shower system, powder room, laundry room, and new flooring in the entry and gym) and are very happy with the end result. Khoi was our project manager and did an outstanding job at managing our project, staying on top of things on a daily basis, and communicating with us regarding status/issues every step of the way from the initial design phase through the final walkthrough. We had heard so many renovation horror stories from friends and coworkers but we did not experience this at all with KBB. Khoi and his team were on site every day, worked long hours, and ensured that we finished our project on time and to our complete satisfaction. We decided to make a design change during the latter part of our project and Khoi and his team handled it effortless, hustled to get the new cabinetry, and still finished our project two days ahead of schedule. Extremely happy with the results of my two bathrooms. This was our first bathroom remodel, so I had a lot of questions. Jing and her team were super patient and walked me through every step. And if I had some minor changes during the project, they were very cooperative and accommodating. More importantly, when they do projects, their team came in and work through the timeline diligently. These guys did an amazing job on our kitchen! They finished the kitchen flip in a week and have impressed all of our neighbors, family, and friends with their quality work. They designed all of the cabinets with our input and even surprised me with a pull-out spice cabinet! Then they created a wet bar out of a "dead space" in our living room that we had no idea what to do with! They used extra marble from the kitchen to fix up BOTH our bathrooms and make use of all of the material we paid for. They cleaned up EVERYTHING before leaving and even rewired the kitchen and wet bar to add lighting and additional outlets. We couldn't be happier and more grateful for their creativity, professionalism, and timeliness. This company is family run and they are the friendliest crew, it was sad to see them go! Khoi, Elaine and their team at Kitchen Bath and Beyond just finished a beautiful update to our condo bathroom. I can't say enough positive things about my experience. They were on time, on budget and their workmanship was stellar. Unlike other contractors, they provided an easy-to understand itemized estimate for the project in advance, and also a 3-D image that really helped us in designing the cabinetry. Khoi answered my questions and also gave several options with different price points that allowed us to make informed decisions about key items. Elaine was super helpful and responsive, and she never pressured me to use the products in their showroom. Most important, Khoi oversaw the whole thing and everyone he worked with was courteous, professional and did great work. Great paint job, dry wall and awesome tile in the shower. The cabinets were exactly what we had hoped for and look like they are custom. Khoi is super-communicative and answers texts almost instantaneously. And he is also super flexible--when we decided mid-project to add a step to the shower, he was able to make the change and it really enhanced the finished product. My favorite quote in response to my suggestions was: "we'll make it work." He is completely service-oriented and was a pleasure to work with. He also did all sorts of "little extras" that were above and beyond the project, from installing a light fixture in the hallway to taking out an old intercom that was no longer in use. All of this was within the exact time frame he promised. And when the towel bars I ordered were delayed, he followed up with me numerous times to make sure I knew he was available to complete the install. The finished product absolutely exceeded our expectations. I would work with Khoi and Kitchen Bath and Beyond again in a heartbeat and I will (and have) recommend them to anyone who has a kitchen or bath project. This company did a great job, on budget and on time (start date: June 19, completion date: July 1, 2017). Did a full kitchen remodel on a small condo kitchen - new flooring, countertops, cabinets, lighting, and backsplash. I picked out and arranged for the appliance delivery myself (with input from the team on the timing of the delivery), but that's relatively easy, which Khoi and his team installed without a hitch. And you don't have to worry about managing or dealing with sub-contractors and/or arranging for a plumber, etc.. and all that, these guys handle everything themselves and do excellent work. I really don't see the point of using Home Depot or Ikea, when KBB not only does excellent, timely work, but price-wise they're pretty much the same as Ikea but without all of the hassle (my brother had a bad experience with Ikea, they were not on time, did shoddy work on his flooring, and he had to without final payment until they fixed several issues). Don't use any of those big-box stores, just use this local company, you won't regret it. One note about the photo: My new refrigerator is scheduled for delivery in a few days, so that's the old fridge. Otherwise everything else is new: garbage disposal, sink, dishwasher, microwave, really nice new Samsung oven/stove (a slide-in) which KBB fully installed and tested themselves. read more

We recently purchased our first home in La Mesa. The kitchen was in pretty bad shape and we received several quotes from Home Depot and other contractors that were way out of our budget. Well it's been almost a year and wanted to give an update. In the last year we have stayed the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, the Radisson Blu in Chicago, a condo in Hawaii and Playa del Carmen, and a few other hotels. Background: My Silgranit sink cracked a few months ago, and I couldn't get the company who did the original installation (less than 4 yrs ago) to replace it (I was willing to pay for it, but they refused to return my calls). My husband used caulk and bondo to work as a patch to get us through the holidays. Details: I did some research and after seeing the great work they did on my sister's kitchen, I called Khoi at Kitchen & Bath Beyond (AKA Kitchen and Bath Woodworks, Inc.). He came out right away and gave me two bids, one for replacing just the sink which is cheaper, but is risky due to potential for counter top breakage plus one bid to replace the entire counter along with the sink. After some careful deliberation, my husband and I decided to go ahead and take the chance with having the sink only removed and replaced, even knowing about the risk. Boy are we glad that we did! Khoi sent out Sam and Jose who are innovative craftsmen (and total rock stars in my book); they arrived on time and removed the old sink and replaced it with an identical one that I had bought separately. Everything looks as good as new and we didn't have to deal with the mess, inconvenience and cost of having to replace the entire counter top along with back-splash to accomplish the replacement. The price quoted was very reasonable and they took extra time and effort to ensure that they avoided any potential damage to my Cambria counter. I definitely think that the company could have made more money off of a full counter & sink replacement, but they went the extra mile and successfully replaced the sink only. First, thanks toi the other Yelpers who reviewed Kitchen Bath and Beyond for steering us in the right direction. We had four companies give us estimates, but each one left us feeling uneasy for one reason or another, and months went by as we searched in frustration for the right contractor.When we saw all the good reviews on Yelp for KBB, we decided to make an appointment for an estimate. We went into their showroom and began making some choices of cabinets and countertops. Right away we knew that these were people we could trust. Throughout the process Sai and Jing each volunteered ways we could save money, and added ideas we hadn't considered before. Both of them were extremely nice, patient with us, thoughtful, and concerned with our happiness with this project. Several times they apologized for not doing something sooner, when we were stunned that these things had been handled so quickly! The workers were on time each day, working from 9 am till 5 or 6 pm, and were courteous and considerate. They cleaned up each day and made sure we were aware of what was going on with each step as it happened.Every day we were just surprised at how much they'd accomplished, and the project was completed in half the time we'd expected it to take. A corner of our original kitchen had been sacrificed to make a small coat closet in the living room. KBB removed the closet, and it gave us SOOO much more counter space, and it makes the kitchen seem twice the size it was! They also added recessed lighting in the kitchen and dining room, and placed switches in more accessible spots than they had been before. The pictures we're sharing were done with a camera phone and i'm not good at it. They don't begin to do justice. But believe me, all ofl our family and friends who have seen the results gasp the same way you do when a bride enters the room looking incredible. Everyone, including neighbors, has asked for their card. We've had other contractors work on previous homes and this is the first time that we didn't have a single moment of panic, or even concern, during the process.
