I received a quote and wanted to proceed and they never replied. I called and left a VM. I sent many messages after. Customer service is awful and maybe my kitchen remodel isn't worth their time even the quote was over $10k. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Days and weeks without replies to emails. After they gave me a quote I emailed twice and practically had to beg for next steps, still no response. I called and finally got a hold of someone. They told us to come to showroom. We come in and the receptionist blankly stares at us. I had to tell her how to pull up our information. Then she tells us the design lead isn't even there. She calls her and asks if she's coming in. She says yes but doesn't tell us how long she'll be. We sat around for 15 minutes and left. The receptionist didn't even attempt to keep our business. I'm sure the end result would have been solid but this entire process took 4 weeks. Horrible business operations. read more

Just finished a project for new counters in our kitchen, hallway and bathrooms as well as nome new cabinets. Worked with Hlai and I could not speak more highly. She has been easy to communicate with and very responsive, even during weekend and holidays (I tried not to, but had questions that she quickly answered.). Her design advice has been great, and everything came back as quoted and on time. I was also impressed with the folks the came in to do the work. They were always on time and polite, also finished everything they were planning to every day. This is written during Covid, and I appreciated the constant use of masks by them too. Is there a 10 STAR option!? I have been dreaming of a new kitchen since I bought my home 3 years ago....and now the reality has exceeded my dreams! Kitchen Boutique is A+ game in home renovation! I worked with Hlai who was able to draw up me some designs that exceeded what I needed but stayed in a budget I needed to work with. The experience was great from Day 1 where she just simply got to know me, my likes, dislikes, and reactions to different decor. Through that we talked budget and then started designing. Just when I thought the designs could not be any more perfect- She and her business partner Patti called with an upgrade that was small but made all the difference to switch the spots on my sink and dishwasher. Once designs were finalized the whole crew was out to my home within 2 weeks to start the project. My kitchen was demolished in a day and a plumber was on the way. We hit a snag of a leaking pipe (thank god we found it!) on demo day- a friday- and when the plumber said he didn't work weekends, Hlai was on the phone negotiation and fixing the issue and he was there for me bright and early Saturday morning to finish the job! I was so impressed! Over the next 2 days new cabinets and counter tops were installed and just 3 days later my appliances found their new homes. By Day 5 I was putting my kitchen back together and Day 6 of renovation I was making homemade Risotto!!! PHENOMENAL! Hlai was available to me at all hours of the day by text, phone, or email. It felt like talking to someone from my family and I looked forward to our conversations. I seriously cannot emphasize how easy, fast, and efficient such a big task was executed. I even had the team put some cabinets Hlai recommended into my very awkward downstairs bathroom/laundry. I now love that space I dreaded as well. I highly highly recommend swinging by and chatting with Hlai and team for your ideas on anything cabinet, kitchen, or organization related because there is a solution they will have!!!! Because I chose Kitchen Boutique based on the Yelp ratings, I am leaving an honest review about my experience to help others who might do the same. I went to check out the showroom and get an estimate on installing new Caesarstone kitchen counters and a tile backsplash in my townhouse kitchen. The designer suggested starting with the counters and then moving on to the backsplash...excellent advice since it's much easier to choose the best tile after the counters are already in. I was told I had to get a new sink to enable the counter template to be properly cut and chose one from their display. They were the lowest of three bids, including one from Dixieline, and they were the most responsive so I chose them to do the work. When I went in for my contract signing appointment, the paperwork was not yet prepared. Kinda irritating as I had my boyfriend with me and we had just come from the beach. But, we waited. Just as we were leaving, a couple came in and started yelling "We just want to know when our kitchen going to be done!!! If you don't know, who does???" AWKWARD. I think it was the next day that my designer called me with good intentions, but pretty much just explained, in great detail, how they were difficult customers that couldn't be pleased (even after being given free under cabinet lighting). More awkward. The counter template and install appointments happened on time and quickly. After the template appointment, my designer told me that because of the dimensions of my counter, I'd have a significant amount of Caesarstone left over that I could use for other projects. I was excited to have some for my bathroom counters. I'd give the installer a 4 star on the actual installation based on how good the counters came out and what seemed like a bit too much damage to my cabinets and a 3/4" dent in my hardwood floors. The next day I noticed that they put in the wrong sink! Although this was kinda a big deal, life is too short to get worked up about stuff like this, so I told my designer that I'd be cool with them comping me under cabinet lighting at no charge (since this seems to be their conciliatory policy lol). In a follow up email, she offered, and I accepted, a $250 check that I could put toward lighting that I would get installed on my own. (I should have found out how much under cabinet lighting cost. This was only enough to cover the cost of the lights and a very small portion of the electrician, so I ended up paying out of pocket making me regret accepting this offer, especially considering that it would have cost them FAR more than $250 to fix their major mistake.) Considering my experience to this point, I opted to go with an independent tile installer. I picked a winner and my kitchen looks amazing. A few weeks later, while cleaning my beautiful new kitchen, I remembered the extra Caesarstone I was told I would get...and didn't. When I emailed the designer, I was told there wasn't any. Hmmm...that just seems really fishy and was the final straw for me. While I'm super happy with my counters, I was ultimately glad that's all I got from Kitchen Boutique. I can only imagine the experience of the yelling couple dealing with a full blown kitchen remodel. read more

Just bought a condo in down town San Diego - I wanted this property to have a European super modern looking kitchen. I looked around and shopped to find some white cabinets and finally found kitchen boutique. Best thing ever happened that I found them. I got the best quality and service. My husband and I wanted to do a mini kitchen remodel to address our pain points. For me, the problem was our countertop and for my husband the problem was our aged appliances. We visited Kitchen Boutique based on the Yelp reviews. The beautiful showroom included all of the things we were looking for ... countertops, sinks and faucets. We met with Hlai over several weeks talking through numerous options for our kitchen and taking home countertop samples to see how they work with my existing cabinets and flooring. What I appreciated the most about working with Hlai was the constant collaboration. Hlai is so knowledgeable about all things kitchen and we worked out a beautiful solution that was within our budget. Jason took over as the project manager for the installation and he did an excellent job keeping us informed and working with the fabricators and plumber. Jason was always available when I had a question which I really appreciated. We now have a beautiful new quartz countertop with a coordinating composite sink, faucet and soap dispensers! From start to finish, working with Hlai was wonderful! While our "mini kitchen remodel" was definitely not a huge job, Hlai made us feel like we were her best and only clients from the get go. I can't say enough about what a great experience it was working with Hlai and her team at Kitchen Boutique. I originally put out a yelp request for quotes on installing quartz counter tops in my kitchen . I received varying levels of professional well developed quotes. Hlai was the only one that truly looked at my drawings and called to ask about the electrical that runs through the existing pony wall. Additionally, the fact that there is a nice showroom and you can get face-to-face communication anytime is a great plus. Her price was below other large companies in San Diego. Horrible management and communication. No responses to my texts and emails unless I sent a second follow-up email or physically walked into the showroom. The project manager that was working with me at the beginning was fired about a month into my design process, and Hlai promised she would take care of me. She gave me her direct number, which I texted to schedule an appointment to come talk about my project with no response - come to find it was the showroom number NOT her direct number. I also emailed her to schedule the appoint, with again, no response. I had to physically walk into the showroom to get her attention, at which point she told me since my project was not in construction yet my project was lower priority. She then passed me off onto her brother's company, Prefab Granite Depot, who had equally as bad of management and communication. When I voiced my concerns to Hlai of Prefab Granite's poor management, she told me "Don't think negatively, because then negative results will happen. Think positively!"..........not sure how that was supposed to help with the issue at hand. Also, to all customers who want to use Kitchen Boutique or Prefab Granite - know that they DO NOT PAINT, so if you are expecting them to paint over any patches they need to make over holes in the wall, they will not do it. I was unaware of this fact at the beginning, and had to hire a second contractor to finish their work. I came to Kitchen Boutique because of the high praises in the Yelp reviews, but I was sorely disappointed. I do not recommend Kitchen Boutique at all, but if you do go with them, keep in mind you will have to manage them yourself. read more

We happened to just stubble upon this place during our drive down the Morena Blvd design shops and begin disappointed with the lack of attention we were receiving in other places. She definitely guided us through the process and was instrumental in helping us define what we wanted in a kitchen appropriate for our space... and that's exactly what we ended up with. I came into the showroom to enquire about refacing after receiving a ridiculous quote from a refacer on cabinets that didn't look anything like real wood. I met Hlai who listened to what I wanted. The showroom has so much to choose from, from cabinets to counters to hardware, I immediately found the cabinets I had envisioned in realtime. The schedule was well laid out from start to finish. All installers were expert at what they did, and when a question came up (such as where to put an inseam on the quartz tile) they efficiently worked with me to get the right outcome. Hlai has a great eye, and was a creative designer, creating a custom broom closet for us in a tight space. I love my new kitchen! read more

We wanted to change out our kitchen countertops and backsplash and came here because other places we'd visited seemed to be merely showrooms with indifferent salespersons. My husband and I were really looking for some competent, professional design advice. Yelp reviews seemed to indicate that we could have our needs met here. The very gracious owner, Hlai, greeted us and offered assistance and in no time we knew we'd come to the right place! We looked at various samples (a big selection) and when we chose, we were able to do the rest over the phone and through email and/or texting. Hlai is a skilled communicator. She listens well, is intuitive, keeps track of every exchange, and she answers questions promptly. Our project is done now ( it took just over one week from the time we set foot in the showroom) and some other sellers we visited still haven't "gotten back to us". I've driven by this store a few times while visiting Coles Carpet across the street, and I finally decided to stop in and see their selection of handles and knobs for my kitchen cabinets. I'm in the middle of remodeling my house - and my kitchen cabinets are turning out to be the hardest thing of all - I can't make up my mind, it's making me crazy! :) Hlai, the Owner, was kind of enough to look at pictures of my cabinets with me, and help me go thru some catalogs, and think "outside the box" and not just go for "oil rubbed bronze," (although nothing wrong with that, right?) and get creative. She ordered samples for me, and she was truly helpful. I left feeling excited about my kitchen, and less frazzled. She is very creative and and helpful. She helped "educate" me, which is what I needed. People are doing a lot of longer, bigger "handles" right now, and not just "knobs", but she assured me that knobs are just fine too. I went in for some serious "help"... and that's what I got. I might go ahead and sign up for a full kitchen re-model with her. I liked her style, and her showroom. We hired Kitchen Boutique to provide and install new cabinets and counters in our new home in La Jolla. Hlai provided a very good kitchen designer who met with us and designed a kitchen that meets all our needs. We were in a hurry to get the kitchen installed before we move in the home and Hlai came through with installation completed 10 days after we ordered the cabinets. Everything was delivered and installed in a 3 day period. We chose modern shiny white flat front cabinets and we did not find these at many retailers, so we were very happy to find them at Kitchen Boutique. The cabinets have many of the features we wanted like self-closing drawers and doors and the wall cabinets go all the way to the ceiling. Don't buy kitchen cabinets without talking to Hlai and Donna at Kitchen Boutique. They provide great products and installation at reasonable prices. read more

Where to begin.....I was on a tight budget for my kitchen remodel and had already received pricing from the Big Box stores, but wasn't thrilled with what I would get. Upon walking in Kitchen Boutique, I immediately thought it was out of my price range. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted my 2 women: one was Hlai, the owner and the other was Donna, her assistant. Immediately I felt comfortable and had an instant rapport with both women. I had brought my preliminary drawings and explained my budget and told them what I was looking for. I was immediately provided with an estimate, which I was surprised to find that the pricing was quite comparable to the Big Box stores. I wanted to have my kitchen redone by someone that would do the whole project from start to finish, without me having to hire different contractors for each part of the job. I had gone over and over all of the possible ways to maximize my space and get enough cabinets and counter space without feeling that I shrunk my kitchen and thought there were no other options. Well, I was wrong! I have more space, more cabinets and more counter tops then I ever would have imagined possible. Throughout the entire process, Hlai was patient, understanding and available (no matter what time I messaged or called her.) I was so unsure about so many things and it took me quite a long time to make final decisions. Not once did I feel pressure from her, not once did she express frustration or annoyance with me. My kitchen has exceeded my expectations, came in budget and looks FANTASTIC! I absolutely made the right decisions putting my trust in Hlai's hands. My kitchen was a disaster prior to the renovation and now I feel as though I am in a new house with a beautiful, functional kitchen! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
