Spicy Tuna Roll and Salmon Roll

Came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with their food and service. I had the spicy tuna and salmon rolls on their lunch menu. Pretty good and our waiter also checked on us frequently which was nice since I think he was the only one covering tables. The staff here are very friendly! I would come back.

This sushi spot hit the spot! We started off with egg rolls (too hungry to take a pre-photo) and oh my, it was deliciously crunchy & fresh. Thought our sushi rolls were going to arrive separately but they came out aesthetically in one plate. We were attentive with good service, as we were the only ones there on a Friday noon. Great place to stop by before or after running errands as it's in a town center.

My husband and I have passed this place numerous times and finally decided to stop in one Saturday as we were craving some Chinese food. We are originally from the Northeast and have noticed that the Chinese food in Texas typically does not stack up. We were pleasantly surprised how good the food was here- and reasonably priced! They offered lunch pricing even on Saturdays! We were given a soup with dumplings with each of our entrees and we also ordered some steam dumplings. All of it was excellent. I think my least favorite part was the brown rice- but that's very minor. My beef with broccoli came with a hefty portion for the price and I had plenty to bring home. My husband had the sweet and sour chicken and also really enjoyed it. Our two entrees, the dumpling appetizer and a couple sodas came to about $40 which to me is a great price and we plan to come back!

Overall a great experience, I've been a few times and the food never disappoints. I didn't add the appetizers that we got but the fried dumplings and rangoons were delicious. It feels very authentic here and the vibe pairs well with the food. We had great servers this time as well and they were accommodating and answered all of our food questions! Highly recommend

*Review Disclaimer: I'm allergic to shellfish & I typically only eat uncooked salmon/tuna sushi. Wasabi & Wok has a cute hole-in-the-wall vibe, typically pretty quick seating, and very polite & kind wait staff! The chicken & broccoli with fried rice is absolutely wonderful! However, after trying Wasabi & Wok for a second time, I was once again underwhelmed and let down by the sushi. Because I eat uncooked salmon, I have a pretty particular taste for it & I won't eat anything that tastes fishy and not fresh. This is the second time that I eat one small piece of my sushi & retire it. I'm not sure if it's where they source the salmon from, but it's not good at all & doesn't feel fresh. However, my wife absolutely loved her Colony Roll with crawfish! She ordered this on our first trip & once again on the second trip, and it didn't let her down! They have great food items, like vegetables, chicken, noodles, and rice. I assume that even their cooked sushi must be very good! If you're a raw-sushi eater like me, steer clear or prepared to be underwhelmed.

The sashimi is very good The service is very good and the atmosphere is delightful. The price is excellent as well.

I can almost smell the cherry blossoms hanging around the room.

The hostess quickly seated us in the bar area, which seemed strange for 2 reasons. The main dining room didn't appear to be nearly full and that cruel afternoon sun was reflecting off a windshield into our eyes. We asked her if we could move but she said she would lower the window blinds. That helped! Our server, Erick, arrived quickly and took very good care of us. I ordered the Mongolian Trio, from the Chef's Favorites part of the menu. It comes with beef, chicken & shrimp and their signature Mongolian sauce. Also, broccoli, carrots and green onions. Erick asked if I wanted white rice, brown rice, fried rice or lo mein. I picked lo mein. Erick asked it I was okay with the upcharge for lo mein. I shrugged it off but should have asked how much. Turns out that it was an additional $4 for a small bowl of plain lo mein noodles. Yep, the menu even had a little +4 on the option. Should have gone with the rice. Anyway, we watched one of the FIFA fútbol games while we waited for our dinner. Erick brought my Mongolian Trio but it didn't look quite right. I expected to see a rich, brown hoisin based sauce on these wok-fried proteins and veggies. But, the beef, chicken and shrimp were covered with a thin batter. The batter was not expected and it had a starchy flavor. The pieces of beef, chicken and shrimp tasted the same. Starchy. There was very little sauce on the entre, too. Erick was nice enough to bring me a small bowl of their thin, signature Mongolian sauce, which helped a lot and it also improved the flavor of the +4 lo mein. In honor of our anniversary, Erick comped us an Individual Dessert that we could share. We picked the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream Pie. It must have come right from the deep freeze because the peanut butter mousse was frozen solid. It was really small but it tasted good and the thought is what counts. I wouldn't order this $27.49 entree, the ÷4 lo mein or the dessert again. But I do appreciate the great job that Erick did. He took very good care of us and made our dining experience remarkable.

So we decided to skip the heat and go to this place. It was such a lovely surprise. I opened the door and it was a lot bigger than it looks from the outside and so clean! Even the bathrooms were super clean and they have toilet seat covers! Food was also solid. We ordered a bunch of different things to share - calamari, riblets, crab rangoon, edamame, chicken XLB, truffle pork XLB, crispy udon, green beans. Everything had really excellent flavor, not too salty either. Our server was so sweet! She always said, "you're so welcome!" And she was quick to refill our drinks without us even asking. Overall, really great experience.

First, many of the dishes lacked the authenticity. The hot and sour soup wasn't sour at all and was overwhelmed by the flavor of sesame oil. The black bean noodles tasted like instant noodles you could make at home, and we ended up adding black vinegar ourselves just to bring some acidity and balance to the dish. The sweet chili shrimp also didn't taste fresh. At the end of our meal, we literally said "this tasted like Chinese buffet food." The service and dining environment made the experience even worse. Throughout our meal, we constantly heard dishes being slammed around from servers cleaning tables. At one point, something was dropped so hard that dishes shattered across the floor. A trash cart was parked right next to our booth while we were eating, and the staff even started mopping the floor directly in front of us during the lunch rush. I understand that restaurants often hire seasonal staff during the summer, but proper training is still important. The way the dishes were handled throughout our meal was loud, chaotic, and disruptive, making it difficult to enjoy our dining experience. It's unfortunate because our first experience of this restaurant was great, but this visit fell well short of our expectations.
