My husband and I have passed this place numerous times and finally decided to stop in one Saturday as we were craving some Chinese food. We are originally from the Northeast and have noticed that the Chinese food in Texas typically does not stack up. We were pleasantly surprised how good the food was here- and reasonably priced! They offered lunch pricing even on Saturdays! We were given a soup with dumplings with each of our entrees and we also ordered some steam dumplings. All of it was excellent. I think my least favorite part was the brown rice- but that's very minor. My beef with broccoli came with a hefty portion for the price and I had plenty to bring home. My husband had the sweet and sour chicken and also really enjoyed it. Wasabi & Wok has a cute hole-in-the-wall vibe, typically pretty quick seating, and very polite & kind wait staff! The chicken & broccoli with fried rice is absolutely wonderful! However, after trying Wasabi & Wok for a second time, I was once again underwhelmed and let down by the sushi. Because I eat uncooked salmon, I have a pretty particular taste for it & I won't eat anything that tastes fishy and not fresh. This is the second time that I eat one small piece of my sushi & retire it. I'm not sure if it's where they source the salmon from, but it's not good at all & doesn't feel fresh. However, my wife absolutely loved her Colony Roll with crawfish! She ordered this on our first trip & once again on the second trip, and it didn't let her down! They have great food items, like vegetables, chicken, noodles, and rice. I assume that even their cooked sushi must be very good! This is a solid place. My wife loves the sweet potato roll with spicy mayo added. I enjoy their basic sushi rolls (price is super reasonable). Lunch specials are really fair. I recommend black pepper chicken. It's better than panda express's version. The spring rolls are also really good and really cheap. read more

The service was nice and the ambiance seems to have a good vibe, but the food was very disappointing. So this place is very close to our place. We absolutely love trying out new places and were in the mood for some ramen and sushi. Obv, we had a some wonton and egg drop soup. Taste was good and the wonton didn't fall apart in the soup. Huge fan of that. Flavor was there. The fried gyoza was fantastic, and I have learned not to eat the last two with my lovely girlfriend. Those are hers. lol. Great taste and flavor, and the soy sauce was solid. I had a shrimp ramen, which was good. The portion size is huge. I split it over the next three meals since it was so much. Flavor was there and yes it smells like shellfish indeed. Finally, we had a dragonroll and roll with eel/eel sauce. The sushi was fantastic, the ginger was nice and fresh. I'm a huge fan of it. This was my first time coming here even though I've wanted to try this restaurant for a few years. What looks small from the outside is nicely decorated inside. There are many seating areas but there isn't really a waiting area. We were just picking up lunch to go and the nice man up front handed my two kids a lollipop which made their day. The food is good, I got basic orange chicken and chicken lo mein to play it safe. It tasted like any other good Chinese food place. The ONLY thing I would want changed about this business, other than the exterior (tacky to put stock/plastic-looking pics of their food and a banner of some of their menu), would be lower price points. If so we would be back all the time if we were remotely in the area. I havr a sister in law with 2 of my nieces that live right in the area and I take my family to Hawaiin Falls in the summer frequently. The interior is totally not what you'd expect. Contrary to the exterior decor, which makes it sound like you're about to walk into a fast food and gas station type chinese diner, the interior is a straight up decently set up restaurant with a sushi bar. Thr food we ordered was beyond delicious - chicken amd broccoli, a sushi roll I can't recall the name of now, and a garlic brown sauce dish with 3 meats. One thing that irritated us about the service was that they said they would have to charge 50 cents for adding eel sauce to our sushi roll. No sushi place we have ever been to charges extra for sauce. It is typically a no charge. I found this to be nickel and diming customers. read more

The server immediately greeted and seated us and was very attentive throughout our visit. We ordered beef & broccoli, ribs, egg rolls, shrimp fried rice and two big sushi rolls. All of the food was perfect! My shrimp was perfectly cooked and done without being chewy. The ribs were better than most BBQ spots with a sweet but savory glaze. The restaurant has several big TVs if you want to catch a game but the volume is turned down low enough where you can have a comfortable conversation while using your "indoor voice." This place it's a hidden gem! The place from the outside may not look as appealing, but the food it's just amazing. We have been here a couple of times and every time love the food even more. They have only indoors seating but in has both and tables, for both small and large parties. The food is tasty and fresh, I am partial with the sushi though (one of my top spots in Dallas). They have specials on the sushi buy two get one free Sunday through Thursdays, and prices are pretty good too. My bro and I eat 3 sushi, 2 appetizer, and a pot of green tea, and pay $44. The chicken teriyaki was juicy and perfectly cooked, there were onions, carrots, and broccoli. The teriyaki sauce was perfect not too sweet - not too tangy. Staff here was SO friendly and attentive! Willing to discuss menu items and give options. The booth was clean and very comfortable. Even the napkin with the rose was adorable! The pricing was extremely reasonable. We've been going here for the past two years especially for their buy 2 get 1 free special. This has been our go to sushi spot & we order here pretty frequently. Ever since about 5-6 months ago the food has been awful. The colony roll with crawfish was super watery and spelled horrible. It had spilled liquid all in my bag and even then there was enough that I could pour it out in the sink. It was so gross I couldn't even eat it. We've still gone back and retried to order because we love the southlake roll. Tonight , even that has gone bad. :( they doubled down on avocado and didn't have any lobster. It just didn't taste fresh at all.
