Do love the cute little kids kitchen!

We used to come here a lot- like once a week. Then it was every two weeks and now it's far and few. The food used to be SO GOOD and the vibes were great. Not sure what happened but the portions got smaller, prices went up, service became mediocre. The food just tasted okay the last time we went. And paying like $89 for a family of three before tip would be understandable if the portions and service were on par but that's not the case. Sucks because this used to be my favorite breakfast spot.

Met friends here on a Friday morning and easily secured a table. The we ordered at the counter and got our number. Water is self serve, so I grabbed some for us. Utensils and napkins are provided in a plastic beverage cup on the table. Had to raid an empty table for a couple napkins. I had the Avocado toast with tempeh for $16. It was good an a full meal. We enjoyed a leisurely conversation and only got a slightly annoyed side eye from the person feigning work on a lap top. Take that stink eye to the library. I always imagine these folks are wannabe screenwriters desperate for material scrapped together from bits of conversation. The arc of topics must have been fruitful for said wannabe as there were plenty of place to move to. A solid HLP place for a casual dining experience. Public parking is nearby for a small fee.

Kitchen Mouse is the best I've found yet for a big vegan and gluten-free menu in L.A. I order the the side of potatoes for the table (it's massive and you can pick your sauce) every time I go, and I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about the mac and cheese. The chilaquiles are fire too. You truly cannot go wrong no matter what you order. I always bring friends and fam here when they visit L.A., and I wish they had more locations! Prepare to wait in line for a while. It's a super popular spot. It's order-at-the-counter, but it can take a bit. There are lots of pastry items in the case, assorted canned and bottled drinks, fresh juices, mimosas. Make sure to also check out the bakery location around the corner from the restaurant for loaves of bread, pastries, etc. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The most delicious vegan carrot cake I've ever consumed was found at Kitchen Mouse Cafe. Moist, tender, perfectly spiced, and not too sweet. Adorable, convenient, great service, and overall lovely.

A few weeks back my wife and I were walking around after checking out a book store when we ended up grabbing some lunch at the Kitchen Mouse Cafe. This place looks super charming, has a bunch of seating, and a pretty decent sized menu. I made the mistake of ordering the Buffalo Mac N' Cheese without reading any sort of the description and that's something I ended up regretting. I've had a whole lot of vegan Mac N' Cheese in my life, but this one consisted of brown rice macaroni, cashew cheese sauce, yams, collard greens, buffalo sauce, and dill cashew cream. Now, I take full responsibility for not reading the description but I still don't know why it wasn't just Buffalo Mac N' Cheese without a bunch of other crap thrown in. The Macaroni itself was solid enough, but the dish wasn't very enjoyable thanks to the other things that were thrown in there. Overall, I was left disappointed and probably won't be seeking this place out in the future. If you are looking for a vegan spot, the staff here was super friendly and the environment was great, so hopefully you have a better experience than me.

Place is super cute, with a really nice lime green interior. Plenty of space to sit during a weekday morning. I had the huevos rancheros with tofu scramble instead of egg. It was delicious, the amount of sauce was perfect, and the corn tortillas were really amazing.

I accidentally spent 2 hours here lol because it was so peaceful and inviting. I've been here a couple times and both times had a great experience! I brought my puppy the first time and an employee hung out with me for a bit giving her lots of love which I thought was so sweet. It's like one of those darling little cafes that feel like home

Thinking of eating a hearty and filling breakfast ? Say less and go to this place early ! Seats get filled up quickly. We ordered House Pancakes, Mikeys Chilaquiles, Huevos Rancheros, Jo's Breakfast Sandwich. They are all delicious ! Every dish is so fresh ! We love the ambiance and it's a great place to catch up with friends.

Very cute atmosphere in the interior!

Really cute place and an all time classic for the Highland Park neighborhood. The vegan options are abundant despite it only being a vegetarian place. My one hang up after coming here for the last 9 years is that the food can be a bit on the high sodium side and the prices are a bit steep for what you're getting. The value used to be there and allowed me to frequent the restaurant, but now it is more of a special occasion meal. I highly recommend checking out the moros cakes!

I've been coming for years and it's never been a bad experience. It's always a good time and good energy, environment. I don't know her name unfortunately but she's been taking my order for the last 6 weeks or so. Tall, cutie, always lovely and great energy and gets my long and specific order correct. Lastly the food is always a hit. Shout out to all staff for the service, experience, food.

This cafe was so cute and all vegetarian with many vegan and gluten free options. Some members of my group who were not vegetarian did not love it, but I thought it was great to have so many options! Very cute, service was as expected.

Loved everything about this cafe! My sister and her dog Brax a regulars here, and she's been telling me I had to try it! The shop is adorable, there's plenty of seating, and they're dog-friendly! They have fresh flowers on each table and lots of plants! My kind of vibe. I got the huevos rancheros, which were DELICIOUS! 10/10! Each bite was perfect, and I cleaned the whole plate! My sister got the Burger Bowl Salad, which she says is her go-to! Both dishes were beautifully plated! I didn't get anything to drink, but there was a complimentary water station in the back (clutch!) I'd definitely come back here! Great vibes, delicious food, and socially buzzing! I regret that I didn't try their coffee, but that just means I have to come back! Totally Recommend!

My friend is a vegetarian, so we went to a restaurant in Highland Park for dinner during Restaurant Week, which was $45 per person. The menu looked great, so we decided to give it a try. They specifically mentioned that we didn't have to order from the Restaurant Week menu, which allowed us to try a variety of other dishes. The food was excellent, and their unique sauces made the vegetarian dishes even more flavorful. It felt healthy without being overly vegan. Overall, it was a great experience. We loved the reasonable prices, the cozy atmosphere, and the fact that the restaurant is only open on Fridays and Saturdays until 9 p.m., and closes at 4 p.m. the rest of the week. They also offer a happy hour, though parking nearby can be a bit tricky. Overall, it's a great spot for vegetarians.

We enjoyed the naan & dips (tahini tofu, carrot 'hummus'), and they offered corn chips for my friend to enjoy because she is gluten-free. For my entree, I had the sticky glazed fried maitake mushroom, and OMG, was it worth every penny! The dish was so flavorful and nothing like I've ever had! It was my friend's birthday, so we also ordered dessert. I had the mango sorbet, it was soooo smooth and refreshing! Our servers, food runners, and bartenders were so kind and raved about the Chef. It is clear they are all a well-oiled machine and enjoy working together as a team. The restaurant was clean, and the entire vibe of the restaurant was charming. I loved all the live plants and decor! I can not wait to go back!

Even though my partner and I had a reservation that we showed up on time for, we waited 30 minutes to be seated. That wait time is pretty outrageous considering we reserved a table for 30 minutes earlier. Once seated, we noticed that the staff were extremely slow and inattentive. It took a while for us to get some water and even longer to get our food. The pacing between dishes was ludicrous. The food here is the saving grace for the disappointing service. We started off with the naan & dips. The dips were tahini tofu and carrot hummus. I liked the tahini tofu dip much more than the carrot hummus. It was creamy, nutty, and savory. The naan was fresh and nicely charred. Next we had the goat liver mousse. This included crumpets, biscuit crackers, craisin relish, seasonal jam, and of course, goat liver mousse. The crackers were too dry for me, but I really enjoyed the warm crumpets. All of the spreads were equally good. The goat live mousse itself was smooth and light. For the main courses, we shared the grilled kalbi-style short ribs and pork belly noodles. The short ribs were covered in a sweet-savory sauce and had a deep caramelization, while the meat was tender and juicy. As for the pork belly noodles, the overall flavor was too salty, but the glass noodles had a nice texture. Throughout our entire meal, there was a fly that kept trying to fly onto our food. It was very annoying to deal with. I was surprised that it was even an issue, considering we had indoor seating. I would have understood if only we were seated outside. Ultimately, I did not leave with a great impression of this restaurant. On top of that, there isn't any designated parking lot, so you'll be lucky if you can even find street parking. If not, you'll need to use one of the paid lots nearby. Also, beware that this restaurant adds a surcharge to all checks regardless of party size.

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

We could understand that it was busy but the waitress never apologized or said anything like they were understaffed or anything. Also, we had a few questions about the menu and our drinks and the waitress would just say, "I think so?" or give a vague answer. She didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu at all. Distrito Catorce combines exceptional food, a great atmosphere, and top-notch service. It's the kind of place that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. Definitely plan on coming back to watch more World Cup games.

I knew heading into Distrito Catorce that I wanted to see three things . The closing art exhibit,…read morehear the live band, and finally try Chef Jonathan's menu. It was basically a grand slam. To be honest, I was already biased because his Smorgasburg pop-ups were consistently good. But Distrito Catorce is different , it's like art. My favorite dish was the tacos de papa with salsa macha. The crunch of the potato taco riding into the salsa macha and crema felt like home, but with some extra pop. His salsa game is on point. The scallion salsa on the ribeye taco was also gas. Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. Tacos de beef trompo are starting to hit LA, and dude was ahead of the curve making picanha-brisket tacos de trompo. Service is smooth too. The servers are helpful, and solid at the bar. Overall, it's a cool spot with a menu that feels unique to LA.

A few weeks ago, I tried a sample of a Venison burger at Sprouts and it was pretty amazing. I felt…read morethat I needed to try this here as well. My friend just flew in for a day because his relative had forgot her passport and needed to travel to Korea, so we stopped here. He missed a few meetings, a vet appointment and other things, but also saved the day, otherwise his relative wouldn't have been able to make it to Korea. While here, they ordered a salad with cherries and pecans that was pretty amazing. I think that may have been one of the better salads I've eaten. In addition to that, a cucumber burrata salad was ordered, and that was made well too. When my venison burger arrived, I took a few bites and it had the exact flavor I was hoping for and I thought the burger was done extremely well. My friend also ordered a pork chop, and it was an amazing cut, cooked perfectly, tender, juicy and everything you could ever want in a bone in pork chop. They also cut the entire piece for you and scraped every last bit off of the bone too. The service is really attentive. They come by your table a lot to ensure you have everything you need. The ambiance is a bit dim in lighting which sets a nice mood. And the place just happens to be dog friendly too. Sorry for the lack of photos, but I didn't wanna intrude on everyone else's meals. However, if you come here, definitely try the salad with cherries and the venison burger or the pork chop!

I liked the melon one 9/10 Overnight oats is good too but on the higher end, 7/10 nothing crazy but still good If I go back the butter, burger and pop Benedict would be the move or bacon
