The ambiance and decor is to die for. So whimsical. So nature. So cute. Their staff is great as well. Super friendly and quick service. I came to try their vegan lemon pancake and was IN LOVE. The texture is perfect and the portion size is great. This is the perfect place to come for brunch. This is the place you come to when you want to feel romantic.

Kitchen Mouse is the best I've found yet for a big vegan and gluten-free menu in L.A. I order the the side of potatoes for the table (it's massive and you can pick your sauce) every time I go, and I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about the mac and cheese. The chilaquiles are fire too. You truly cannot go wrong no matter what you order. I always bring friends and fam here when they visit L.A., and I wish they had more locations! Prepare to wait in line for a while. It's a super popular spot. It's order-at-the-counter, but it can take a bit. There are lots of pastry items in the case, assorted canned and bottled drinks, fresh juices, mimosas. Make sure to also check out the bakery location around the corner from the restaurant for loaves of bread, pastries, etc. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Met friends here on a Friday morning and easily secured a table. The we ordered at the counter and got our number. Water is self serve, so I grabbed some for us. Utensils and napkins are provided in a plastic beverage cup on the table. Had to raid an empty table for a couple napkins. I had the Avocado toast with tempeh for $16. It was good an a full meal. We enjoyed a leisurely conversation and only got a slightly annoyed side eye from the person feigning work on a lap top. Take that stink eye to the library. I always imagine these folks are wannabe screenwriters desperate for material scrapped together from bits of conversation. The arc of topics must have been fruitful for said wannabe as there were plenty of place to move to. A solid HLP place for a casual dining experience. Public parking is nearby for a small fee.

The most delicious vegan carrot cake I've ever consumed was found at Kitchen Mouse Cafe. Moist, tender, perfectly spiced, and not too sweet. Adorable, convenient, great service, and overall lovely.

A few weeks back my wife and I were walking around after checking out a book store when we ended up grabbing some lunch at the Kitchen Mouse Cafe. This place looks super charming, has a bunch of seating, and a pretty decent sized menu. I made the mistake of ordering the Buffalo Mac N' Cheese without reading any sort of the description and that's something I ended up regretting. I've had a whole lot of vegan Mac N' Cheese in my life, but this one consisted of brown rice macaroni, cashew cheese sauce, yams, collard greens, buffalo sauce, and dill cashew cream. Now, I take full responsibility for not reading the description but I still don't know why it wasn't just Buffalo Mac N' Cheese without a bunch of other crap thrown in. The Macaroni itself was solid enough, but the dish wasn't very enjoyable thanks to the other things that were thrown in there. Overall, I was left disappointed and probably won't be seeking this place out in the future. If you are looking for a vegan spot, the staff here was super friendly and the environment was great, so hopefully you have a better experience than me.

Place is super cute, with a really nice lime green interior. Plenty of space to sit during a weekday morning. I had the huevos rancheros with tofu scramble instead of egg. It was delicious, the amount of sauce was perfect, and the corn tortillas were really amazing.

Do love the cute little kids kitchen!

We used to come here a lot- like once a week. Then it was every two weeks and now it's far and few. The food used to be SO GOOD and the vibes were great. Not sure what happened but the portions got smaller, prices went up, service became mediocre. The food just tasted okay the last time we went. And paying like $89 for a family of three before tip would be understandable if the portions and service were on par but that's not the case. Sucks because this used to be my favorite breakfast spot.

I accidentally spent 2 hours here lol because it was so peaceful and inviting. I've been here a couple times and both times had a great experience! I brought my puppy the first time and an employee hung out with me for a bit giving her lots of love which I thought was so sweet. It's like one of those darling little cafes that feel like home

Loved everything about this cafe! My sister and her dog Brax a regulars here, and she's been telling me I had to try it! The shop is adorable, there's plenty of seating, and they're dog-friendly! They have fresh flowers on each table and lots of plants! My kind of vibe. I got the huevos rancheros, which were DELICIOUS! 10/10! Each bite was perfect, and I cleaned the whole plate! My sister got the Burger Bowl Salad, which she says is her go-to! Both dishes were beautifully plated! I didn't get anything to drink, but there was a complimentary water station in the back (clutch!) I'd definitely come back here! Great vibes, delicious food, and socially buzzing! I regret that I didn't try their coffee, but that just means I have to come back! Totally Recommend!

Very cute atmosphere in the interior!

Really cute place and an all time classic for the Highland Park neighborhood. The vegan options are abundant despite it only being a vegetarian place. My one hang up after coming here for the last 9 years is that the food can be a bit on the high sodium side and the prices are a bit steep for what you're getting. The value used to be there and allowed me to frequent the restaurant, but now it is more of a special occasion meal. I highly recommend checking out the moros cakes!

I've been coming for years and it's never been a bad experience. It's always a good time and good energy, environment. I don't know her name unfortunately but she's been taking my order for the last 6 weeks or so. Tall, cutie, always lovely and great energy and gets my long and specific order correct. Lastly the food is always a hit. Shout out to all staff for the service, experience, food.

The Milk Cream Bun was light and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness. The Miso Cinnamon Roll completely surprised me. I was curious how miso would work in a cinnamon roll, but it didn't taste noticeably like miso. Instead, it added a subtle savory umami that elevated the sweetness of the cinnamon roll beautifully. Here are some of the key highlights: * In addition to the 2nd location in Downtown LA and a sister coffee shop Loquat Coffee in Cypress Park, the same owners also opened Fondry Bakery in 2024, a coffee roastery called Quat in Glassell Park in October 2025, and a 2nd Loquat location in Silver Lake in December 2025. * Still no private parking lot and the two public parking lots are still your best bet (5033 Lincoln Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90042 & 1311N N Ave 51, Los Angeles, CA 90042). Otherwise street parking is available. * Still no indoor seating with only few small outdoor chairs and a tiny table. * Our party had the Hojicha Latte (half-sweet $6.50) and Matcha Latte ($6.75). Personally, I strongly discourage anyone from getting the half-sweet option as it made the drink taste a bit watery. The Matcha Latte had full sweetness and it tasted about right, but it was still not as good as some other matcha lattes out there. * No public restroom [Conclusion]: A nice coffee shop to stop by while visiting the boutique shops on York Blvd. Decent matcha drinks, but I still prefer matcha drinks from various cafes in Koreatown if I want something on the next level.

For a coffee shop, the lack of WiFi should really be posted at the entrance or register so people know before ordering. I had the barbacoa burrito and an iced Figueroa. Both were decent, not bad by any means, but definitely overpriced for what you get. Service was fine, and the ambiance is nice. I actually would have stayed for a while and probably ordered something else later had WiFi been available. Also worth noting that I had to pay for parking. Obviously that isn't the coffee shop's fault, but between parking and the higher prices, it ended up being a pretty expensive stop for somewhere I couldn't actually do the work I came there to do. I don't have an issue with a café choosing not to offer WiFi, but I do think that should be communicated upfront. Had I known before ordering, I would have chosen another coffee shop. Delicious drinks and creative pastries!…read more Tried Fondry LA and the matcha vanilla pistachio drink was definitely the highlight--so delicious and perfectly sweet without needing any sweetness adjustment. Easily my favorite thing I tried! The tofu cream croissant toast was airy and light, with a creamy topping that wasn't overly sweet. The mushroom béchamel was savory and good. I only got it because my brother suggested it. Normally I would not seek mushroom pastries even though I like mushrooms. The yuzu meringue croiffin was good, but I am not used to tart flavors in croissant/pastry combination. The cafe is very tiny, with only one table for seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot. There are seats outside. I also wanted to try the black sesame pastry, but didn't see it available when I visited. I'd definitely go back to try it. The drink was the standout for me!

Delicious and unique pastries! I've been a couple times and am always impressed by both Fondry's…read morespecial pastries and seasonal ones. The key is to go on a weekday to avoid the line, as the weekend can definitely get busy. This last time I finally got to try the tofu cream topped croissant, which was ~to die for~. It was a little bit savory with the miso but still (not too) sweet. This felt super original and I would definitely recommend. I also tried the pistachio croissant and asparagus danish this time round and both were extremely good as well. I would have no qualms with re-ordering either. The only note is the pistachio cream is pretty runny, so it's hard to cut and share, as the cream just oozes out. The workers there are super friendly and kind. The drinks are also very good if you're looking to get a little extra treat as well.
