This was our third time dining at kitchen sunnyside and it keeps getting better! We've eaten outside twice which is lovely and today we inside. This is one of our favorite places to go as it feels like home and the staff is great: We love the optionality in the menu - everything tastes homemade but with an amazing twist. Kitchen Sunnyside reminded me of Blackwood, in that the brunch and lunch menu was a mix of Asian American fusion. Not to say that as a bad thing, because the food and service here blew my expectations. While my friends and I were venturing around Mill Valley, we stumbled across this restaurant. Seeing how delicious some of the customers' food was, it seemed like stopping by Kitchen Sunnyside for a relaxing brunch was an easy decision. I stuck with the avocado salad; one of my friends picked the loco moco; and my other friend ordered the Athenian scramble. To say that the food was cooked to perfection is an understatement on my part. Additionally, despite paying about $21 for each of our orders, we got very generous portions. I've been coming here quite often. I would definitely suggest my favorite, Hot Stone Pot ($18) with $3 for the shrimp. It's a rice dish that is quite spicy but SO good! Big portion for myself (and quite pricey for lunch) but I always take the leftover to go so it's worth it. Their millionaire's bacon (they trademarked it) is also really delish! Sweet and spicy! Give it a try and thank me later ;) The staff is very attentive, but because this place gets crowded during lunch hours so you may have to try a little harder to get their attention. I wouldn't recommend getting any coffee there if you are a coffee snob like myself. Just limited options and they didn't have oat milk. No big deal for me anyway because I was there for food. Our bill came out around $47.xx plus tax but we were quite satisfied with our meals. The hours are 8am - 3pm on the weekends. There are not a lot of good breakfast spots in Marin but when you find one, you hold on to it. The portion sizes here are very generous, as most breakfast places. My boyfriend and I split the smoked salmon Benedict. The eggs were poached perfect, the hollandaise was the classic texture and the smoked salmon with capers was delicious. They came with a side of hashbrowns which I was disappointed in. They were not crispy instead of lifeless soft mush.. it was a real shame, because if they would have gotten that right the place would have been bumped up to .5 a star. I ordered the hot stone pot and my husband orders a scramble - 20 mins later they came back to say they ran out of rice and can't make the stone pot. Ok - annoying but fair enough. It happens. They asked me to order a sandwich so it would come out around the same time my husbands scramble came out so I ordered a blt and the side of eggs. The blt came out about 10 mins later, but they forgot the eggs. We say something. The eggs show up but my husband's food still isn't there. They left the ticket on the counter and it didn't get made. I came here solely because the business owner owns numerous restaurants in the bay area and this one was another one to check off my list. As a huge fan of all the other restaurants, I already expected to enjoy the food here. This time, we both went for the eggs benedicts: Blackstone Benny with Millionaire's Bacon ($17) for me and Oscar's Benny ($21) for him. Trust me, the millionaire's bacon is an absolute must! It's worth the extra $2 and you will not be disappointed with the thick, sweet and savory taste of the bacon --yum! I do wish the hashbrowns were more crisp as the insides were too soft for my liking. We paired our brunch with bottomless mimosas for $15 each. The bubbly gave me a good buzz throughout the meal and they eventually came around to refilling our glasses after having to ask them the first time. They also forgot the tomatoes and asparagus on my Blackstone Benny, which they offered to trade my plate. I was a bit buzzed and could careless, so kept my eggs benny, which only consisted of the millionaire's bacon and poached egg. I should probably be more aware or should've checked what they actually charged me, except I was a bit too inebriated to remember --oh wells. YUM!! My friends and I stopped here before going for a hike in Mt Tam State Park and so so happy we did! We waited for about 20 mins for a table; we had 3 people so we were basically waiting for a large enough table to open up. I noticed that if you were a group of 2, you'd be seated quicker. I ordered the breakfast tacos... so good! It's a hefty dish, 3 egg/sausage tacos with avocado, potatoes, and piece of toast. The tacos were very delicious! The tortillas were warm (pet peeve is tacos with cold tortillas!), the eggs were real (not fake eggs, or feggs), sausage/bacon/chiptole aoli mix was tasty (more salsa provided if you want spicier), and a very generous serving of avocado in each (fo free!) The toast was on the crisper side but I'm not complaining. The potatoes were soft and multicolored (fun!) Great place if you are in the area! I hope to come back soon! read more

The dishes we ordered both times included the "Million Dollar Bacon," Frisco Scramble, Morning Tacos, Loco-Moco, and Boosted BEC. Let me start by saying, this bacon was genuinely the best bacon we have ever had. I am thinking it's marinated, definitely a bit sweet, but not too sweet. Thick, perfectly cooked, and delicious. The Frisco Scramble was also good, but could have used a bit more flavor besides the vegetables that were in it. At home, I use a lot of seasoning and that is what I am used to so I expect flavor from restaurants! The Morning Tacos were definitely good, as I love a good breakfast taco! I did try some of the Loco-Moco and this was a fun and different breakfast dish, definitely yummy. A fried wagyu beef cutlet, egg, bell pepper, red onion, mushroom, gravy sauce, rice. My boyfriend ordered this so I tried a bite, I think this was my favorite dish! Steak and eggs are always a win. The Boosted BEC looked good, but that I did not try. The restaurant is very clean, I noticed that after they wiped the table with a regular towel, they used the Clorox wipe to wipe again the entire table- good protocol- very impressive. Got the Morning Omurice: a delicious mixture of rice, spinach, ribeye, egg, scallion, onion and a big heaping pile of salad and a massive piece of buttered toast. I was glad to find a brunch place in Marin open till 3pm to have a nice brunch after a morning hike around rodeo beach before heading to Mt Tamalpais. All 3 of us ordered different dishes, all were eggcelent. The hash browns was crispy and plentiful. My scrambled eggs with veggies were delicious. There was marmalade, butter and jams available on the table. Their coffee/latte was refreshing. Service was timely. It was cool to see kids get a sheet of paper with colors to keep them busy. Bland and could be prepared at home with more flavor. I had the Frisco Scramble, it felt too "wet" and I had to season it liberally with salt and pepper. I am so glad we found this place! We came at 10:30 on Saturday and were seated right away. It was crowded and a few people in line for tables but we sat at the bar and were greeted with a smile. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and delicious! The first thing I noticed was the "millionaires bavon" shirts on the staff and they are the same shirts as Fred's (in sausalito) which is one of our other go to brunch spots. We have been going there for years. When we went last week, the menus were changed and they were calling it ",sweet bacon" still same recipe but I asked the server there and said that Fred's was under new management. I just asked our server here and they said they were both owned by the same at 1 point and now the Fred's staff is here. Happy day! I could write a whole post on the millionaires bacon alone vit I'll keep it short. It's the best bacon you'll ever have! Sweet. A little spicy. And tangy! Extra thick and marinated for a very long time. My husband and I tried the sunnyside hash and it was 10/10 delicious. Fresh and hot and melty.
