The hot stone Bibimbap (Tues Special)

Foodles is a gem of a lunch option in San Rafael. They have Bibimbap specials on Tuesdays, Spicy Pork on Thursdays, and Korean BBQ (kalbi) on Fridays. Delicious food, and great service. I recommended giving them a try!

I've come here several times now, and I love it more than ever. Family owned and operated, the people here make you feel like you are family, too. As you wait for your order, it's not uncommon to see regulars come by and greet the staff on a first name basis. The food is delicious, packed with flavor, generous in portion and competitive in price. The food is actually quite addictive. The Korean options are legit and sell out very quickly. There is street parking, but cars race past the store and can make it challenging to get back on. Recommend the private parking lot immediately behind their Foodles store sign, which is large and just a few steps from their side entrance.

For those who don't know, George Lucas' ILM was located right behind this restaurant. 'Til this day, this popular location for those who live in Marin County and work around here love coming here for breakfast & lunch Monday-Friday, no weekends. I'm sure the Korean boss lady wants to eventually retire. Foodles has been a local favorite for decades, so if you didn't know Marin had Korean food, now ya know! She only makes the special KBBQ plates on Fridays. I was in luck last time on a weekday, where she offered a taste of her Korean noodles, and they were delicious. Another day, I had to order a tray of appetizers for a potluck (potstickers), and she made it happen. Their food is reasonably priced compared to other places these days. I hope Foodles will continue to thrive for many more decades to come! 'Til we meet again ~ cheers & see you on Yelp (SYOY)!

Korean spicy pork (Thursday). Comes with rice and side salad. Superb!

Good LORD, I had been wanting to come here for a loonnnggg time to try the Korean food and today was the day! Yay. Today is Thursday, so the Korean food special was spicy pork that came with steamed white rice and a side salad. Absolutely delicious, highly recommend coming here to get your Korean food fix! My to-go order came out of the kitchen super duper quick! Can't wait to try the other Korean specials they have throughout the week (might have to spread it out over the next few weeks because it is TOO darn outstanding)!

A cute and hardworking family owned business. The nicest people in San Rafael that made me feel at home. Most of the food is American, but they have Korean specialties that get sold out fast (Bibimbap, Kalbi, teriyaki, etc). Definitely want to come back for the Korean food. I think it's the mom of the business, but she's so sweet. The food came out fast, was piping hot, very filling, and delicious. Hope the business keeps going up!

Food never disappoints. Friendly and sweet owners, kamsamida! Love how all is from scratch and their fries are amazing just in their own.

Love the French roll - especially when heated up and the cheddar cheese melts into the bread. I order mine with lite dressing, vegetarian with cheddar cheese, small size. Something about the chopped lettuce, the melted cheese, cucumbers, avocado, and the chopped onion satisfies my discerning palate. In addition to the sandwich menu, there's also breakfast items and some ramen type dishes, even chow mein. A very unassuming space with virtually no aesthetic, but the food makes up for lack of design. There are a variety of can and bottle beverages, and a great potato chips selection from "Kettle" brand. Truly a very satisfying meal and all-around experience. Friendly owners that make the food for you normally on hand. On E. Francisco Blvd. in San Rafael, near the car dealerships and just around the corner from Home Depot and the beautiful Super Target store. Aside from that, the sandwiches here are soo good, they don't need the pomp and circumstance to get people's attention. They're the epitome of "if you know you know". I don't even live in the area! The owners are the sweetest people you could ever meet. They know their customers. If you're a regular, they know you. The flavors were authentic and flavorful without being overly Americanized. The pork curry was absolutely delicious and is definitely a must-order. I also got the tea leaf salad and immediately wished I had ordered the large because you can never have enough tea leaf salad. The palata was a great starter -- flaky, warm, and exactly what you'd want. The miso black cod was another standout. The broth it was simmered in was incredibly flavorful, and the fish was perfectly cooked. The garlic noodles were also done really well with the right noodles and great flavor -- honestly better than some places known specifically for garlic noodles. And of course, the coconut rice is always worth ordering. We skipped dessert since nothing really stood out, but I would love to see them add more traditional Burmese desserts like faluda in the future. Parking wasn't too difficult, especially if you circle around the back neighborhood area. The wait was reasonable, the outdoor patio seating was nice, and the service was attentive throughout the meal. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when craving Burmese food.

For take out I only order two things - A9 Fried Chicken Wings; crispy and done very well but they used to give you six and now only four for the same price. And fresh spring rolls. Neither have I ever been disappointed by. When I sit down I only order one thing - #1 House Special Combination Pho. Unfortunately prices have gone up considerably but that is the case with every restaurant in Marin and the Bay Area as a whole. Pho is perfect for when it is cold, you feel run down or are hung over. When it comes to Pho, broth is most important followed by how generous and fresh the meat portions and then the noodles. VN Noodle has satisfying broth and I have yet to be disappointed by the portions and freshness. Pho Viet is a very close second. Four stars because this is good Pho, not great Pho (no where in Marin has great Pho, or great Asian food in general. Sorely lacking for such an affluent area. Marin needs a Ranch 99 or HMart as well). $20 for a decent bowl of pho is quite a lot. The ambiance is so so and the service can vary depending on the visit. Still this is probably your best bet for Vietnamese food in Marin County. Parking is good and you don't have to wait long for your food.
