I've come here several times now, and I love it more than ever. Family owned and operated, the people here make you feel like you are family, too. As you wait for your order, it's not uncommon to see regulars come by and greet the staff on a first name basis. The food is delicious, packed with flavor, generous in portion and competitive in price. The food is actually quite addictive. The Korean options are legit and sell out very quickly. There is street parking, but cars race past the store and can make it challenging to get back on. Recommend the private parking lot immediately behind their Foodles store sign, which is large and just a few steps from their side entrance. read more

For those who don't know, George Lucas' ILM was located right behind this restaurant. 'Til this day, this popular location for those who live in Marin County and work around here love coming here for breakfast & lunch Monday-Friday, no weekends. I'm sure the Korean boss lady wants to eventually retire. Foodles has been a local favorite for decades, so if you didn't know Marin had Korean food, now ya know! She only makes the special KBBQ plates on Fridays. I was in luck last time on a weekday, where she offered a taste of her Korean noodles, and they were delicious. Another day, I had to order a tray of appetizers for a potluck (potstickers), and she made it happen. Their food is reasonably priced compared to other places these days. Outstanding food and service and plenty of free parking! The following is a list of foods that we ordered today and all of it was SUPER Delicious! Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. Grilled Chicken Breast Burger on a Roll with bacon, sliced avocado with lettuce, mayonnaise and sliced tomatoes. Onion Rings and Curly Fries. Blueberry pancakes with butter and syrup. Good LORD, I had been wanting to come here for a loonnnggg time to try the Korean food and today was the day! Yay. Today is Thursday, so the Korean food special was spicy pork that came with steamed white rice and a side salad. Absolutely delicious, highly recommend coming here to get your Korean food fix! My to-go order came out of the kitchen super duper quick! A cute and hardworking family owned business. The nicest people in San Rafael that made me feel at home. Most of the food is American, but they have Korean specialties that get sold out fast (Bibimbap, Kalbi, teriyaki, etc). Definitely want to come back for the Korean food. I think it's the mom of the business, but she's so sweet. The food came out fast, was piping hot, very filling, and delicious. Hope the business keeps going up! read more

I was having work done on my car across the street, so I decided to give Foodles a try. I've passed the restaurant for years. I was disappointed they didn't have any Korean food at breakfast, so I got the breakfast burrito and my GF got the English muffin breakfast sandwich. The food tasted good, but an hour later I felt sick to my stomach and my belly was bloated. Three hours later when I got home I had to take Alka Seltzer. Six hours later I was still bloated and ..... The owners also use Dixie paper products, which are owned by the Koch brothers. By using Dixie products you are supporting a billionaire family that are extreme right winged republicans that only care about themselves. read more

Food quality & taste 5/5 Service & staff 5/5 Prices 5/5 The dining area was clean and organized, staff was friendly & greeting people by name. My husband and i love this place, the food is delicious. They are open for breakfast and for lunch. I had one of the best fish and chips there a few weeks ago. The owners (who often are also the servers) are very nice! We will certainly be back many times! read more

I was itching for some Korean food for lunch one day so I did a search on YELP and found negative korean restaurants in Marin. Seriously? I knew there had to be a place somewhere that serves Korean food and long in behold Foodles came across my radar. I read a few of their reviews and could not believe it, this place serves Korean food, on top of teriyaki chicken & salmon amongst other things like sandwiches and salads. This place is located in the business industrial park area of San Rafael and just by walking in this place, it's predominantly men that eat here based on the area. To continue, I was warmly greeted by the owners and they knew right away I was the crazy filipina girl that kept calling in asking about their Korean food. Just a quick note, they serve only bulgogi every other Fridays but did mention they will try to do bulgogi every Fridays. Another thing they mentioned they can make bulgogi korean tacos. What?! And...wait for it........ They make their own kimchi! Their bulgogi over rice was good, definitely helps curve by Korean cravings. Hope someday they do korean BBQ ribs. I'd driven by many times but never stopped in as it looks very ordinary from the outside. Looks can be deceiving. Had the Chef's omelet this morning - amazing! Generously stuffed with delicious filling and cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced and friendly owners. I highly recommend this breakfast spot gem. read more

On a whim, searched Korean in San Rafael. Foodles came up. Foodles sandwich shop? Found out it's owned by Koreans and they have a Korean daily lunch special. Soooo glad I took my brother and nephew on a Thursday. Had the tastiest beef bbq and spicy pork plates loaded with rice and salad for under $10! They even have some kimchi near the salad bar for those wanting to have some with their special. Just a heads up, they have breakfast, yummy burgers and sandwiches also. Try some kimchi on your burger. Spicy, salty, crunchy kick for the win! I tried their Tuesday bibimpap special also. It's a must...in a stone pot. Do you want a lot of food served quickly and for cheap? If so, you'll love this place--5 stars. Get in line behind all of the auto dealer service workers and you will be full when you're done eating. I appreciate that this seems to be a family business, but the food quality is cheap, diner-quality. The emphasis seems to be on big portions, slammed down on the counter, pay pay pay, fast fast fast. Emphasis is definitely not on taste or customer service. The staff will look right through you--it's like we're all just bipedal vehicles for the most important thing--money. Food is super greasy, the bibimbap was the worst I've ever had. But again, if you're super hungry and low on cash, this might just be the ticket. read more

I've been to this place sooo many times and they know me by name now. Breakfast is served all day (until closing) and that's a plus. Breakfast prices are pretty fair! The food here is pretty good. Some things can be pricey such as grilled cheese sandwich (close to $6). They do have Mandarin Jarritos and I LOVE Jarritos! but they only have one flavor. This place gets busy from 11:30-1:00. The wait time on your food can take a while. You can call your order in to make the process faster. I usually go around 1:30 and it's pretty dead. Some of the daily things that I get from their menu are Burgers, hot dog, breakfast, English muffin with eggs, cheese and bacon, grilled cheese sandwich and the small salad bar is pretty decent. They do offer the meal of the day which is a combo that has fried or soup. Oh and they do have curly fried! Can't go wrong with Curly fries! The food here is pretty good and it's a nice little spot here in the loop off of Kerner. A plus is that they have the SF Chronicle for you newspaper readers! Take to the male owner about the Giants or the 49ers and he will open up. The lady here is so nice and welcoming! The cooks speak Spanish and they are friendly as well. They do have a TV available and I have caught some of the Giants postseason games and some of the 2010 world cup soccer games. Combos include a bag of chips and a canned drink. I've had no issues with the staff, all great encounters. Stang's has a gated outdoor dining area. Since the stand is minimally staffed, they may not have the time to clean the dining area. Understandably so. Right next to Stang's patio, there are shopping center community tables. Those tables are maintained by the shopping center cleaning crew. Plus there are trash and recycling bins close by making it easier for folks to pick up after themselves.

I liked the rye as a change as well, so either that or sourdough moving forward. All the food was great, as the photos will show, and the serving size is still decent for the price. The egg salad sandwich, on lightly toasted bread, was indeed more of an "egg WITH salad" sandwich, having lots of lettuce and tomato, and not enough egg salad (for me), but the guy with that sandwich did not complain and said it was very tasty. Because there was also a birthday among us a few days before, we HAD to celebrate with dessert and chose the apple and mixed-berry pies. They also had blueberry, but I have had these two before and really like them. They did not have ice cream, though (), but a decent whipped cream helped. Since I had to get my watch fixed across the street from the restaurant at Gold Rush Jewelry today, I had decided to do my foodie thing and see if I have been missing out. My review here is strictly related to the pho that I had today. As long as the restaurant location was clean (and it certainly was), the food makes no difference to me whether I was served at the restaurant or the WH with the whole place painted in gold. Also I do make my own pho broth (aka liquid gold) at home, so I am all about searching for a different impressive interpretation. Back to the food, I took a picture of my bowl of pho as soon as it was served at my table, and I immediately tasted the soup before anything else was added to it. The soup was perfectly balanced both spices and seasoning wise and the temperature was just right. Then I added basil, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lemon juice to my pho, as nothing else was needed to alter or masking the original taste of the slowly simmered broth. There was no need to insult the broth (or the broth chef) by adding hoisin sauce and fake stuff to it. I truly enjoy the style of the beef served. The beef pieces are very tender, not like the rare beef slices that most Vietnamese restaurants offer. Also I cannot say enough good things about the ribs that came with my pho order. Overall it was a very satisfying bowl of pho to me. There are many Vietnamese restaurants out there with their own interpretations of pho broth in terms if the use if spices, seasonings, and bone to water ratios in make the all day all night long slow simmering broth. Also, northern style and southern style pho are quite different from each other by taste and composition. There is nothing wrong with most of these other Vietnamese restaurants and their own interpretations , however I found the pho that I had today at Golden Era very agreeable with what I am looking for in terms of "balance". Some spices might smell great if a lot of it is used, but could create a noticeable unpleasant taste and even an irritation reaction to the throat. This is why I believe Golden Era is a winner with the pho game. I have a photo of a fully finished bowl to proof it. I will definitely return to Golden Era again. Will see if their quality control is consistent enough to build a regular customer base. Other factors to consider: they do have a clean and tidy looking kitchen, but from the front end of the restaurant to the kitchen is about 30 plus steps; the restaurant was operated by a grandma and grandpa only when I was there at 11:30 am, they were very nice and doing the best that they could... please be kind to these folks.

I just wish there was more Chicken for the amount you're charged to add it ($4.25). There wasn't a huge amount of avocado or onion either. I know next time to order extra. But the quality of the food is amazing. & some people may not enjoy the notes, but this made me really happy to see the note on the bag. It was a great touch. The staff were so friendly too. They double checked my order and ensured I didn't leave without the hot sauce or extra chipotle sauce. It a cute little shop on 4th street and I will definitely be back. They're always busy and I can't wait to return to try their coffee!
