Sunnyside Cafe can be a bit of a wait for a table on a weekend, but the wait was worth it for our group. The brunch dish I had today was comprised of a veggie omelet with Yukon potatoes, with a side of "millionaire" bacon (a very yummy treat that helped balance the healthy vegetarian omelet I had). As for noise, the restaurant was full and a bit nosier than we like since tables are fairly close to each other. I suppose it'd be a little bit quieter on a weekday, but it's something to be aware of if you are looking for a quiet place. The food is so good, you might just overlook the weekend noise like we did today. read more

Probably the best brunch I've ever had. I got the sunny side hash with scrambled eggs and English muffin. So good.

Best benny I've had in years, hash browns were near perfect as well and im kind of a HB snob.

Have to say we were pleasantly surprised at the inventive menu and tasty execution. Definitely not IHOP or Denny's. Don't expect a blue plate special as it is expensive but well worth the money. The food was great, but the service was really poor. We nearly got our food before ever getting the drinks we ordered (water). The restroom at this location requires a key to access. Asked several servers for the key, and all of them said they didn't have it. I had to search around on my own before finding it hanging on the wall. read more

Went before hiking around mt tam. Made for a perfect day. I got a scrambler Thing...Mehh delicious but not amazing. However, the chorizo sandwich was SO good. SO good. Usually my partner and I split French toast or pancakes for breakfast dessert () but here we opted for the millionaires bacon. Our new favorite spot! The athenia? Omelet is just so good; as are the potatoes and wonderful coffee. Service is always friendly too. We haven't tried lunch yet but they have some very interesting choices so I'm sure we will. The variety of menu items make this cafe a place I think I'd have a hard time tiring of:) best omelets I've had in Marin. I am really sad to change our review but what happened? Nothing was the same but employees said we were 100% wrong; nothing at all had changed -we've eaten here probably 25 times so feel like we do know? Menu now is small- no more whipped eggs for those fluffy large omelettes. That was a major difference. Not much for lunch either. We were expecting our past experience. Service though nice was so very slow . They weren't crowded either. Overall price too high for experience and food now - we are sad to say. read more

Delicious food with great presentation. Location is dark and kind of depressing with no outdoor seating . Only other complaint was about the Avocado toast that is one of main featured menu items .Instead of using real avocado they took the cheap and untasty route using prepared Costco like guacamole :( . This place is great. You get super large portions and delicious food all in one. The presentation is nice and the taste is wonderful. The seating is a little tight but everyone was very friendly. I wish I could take this place back to VA so I could go there more often. read more

The prices here are ridiculously high, my wife ordered one pancake and it costs 6 dollars and it was very small!! Food quality is good but 40 dollar breakfast is extremely unreasonable, I guess they expect folks to pay because of the mill valley zip code!! While visiting a friend for the weekend we ventured out for breakfast here. It's a pretty tiny place and there was a short wait, but it wasn't too bad for a Sunday. We were all hungry and ambitious so we each ordered our own breakfast plus an order of lemon ricotta pancakes to share. That was smart because the pancakes were amazing! They were fluffy and moist and had a wonderful lemon flavor. I would definitely recommend them. For meals, we ordered the boosted BEC grilled cheese , the Sunnyside hash and the breakfast tacos. I tried all three and the tacos were definitely the best. There was so much flavor packed into them and the potatoes on the side were nice a crisp. The grilled cheese was tasty but there wasn't anything particularly special about it...it was just a nice cheesy breakfast sammy. The hash was decent. It had way too many peppers in it but they cooked the eggs perfectly and the toast was thick and fresh. I would certainly go back. read more

Great atmosphere and staff was friendly. We went for breakfast and sat at the bar. We enjoyed watching food being cooked and prepped. It was exciting to watch dishes come together and wonder what it was going to be. My partner's order came out wrong and it was fixed but his plate wasn't as pretty as mine was when they finished fixing it. No big deal though, food was delicious. They did not even let us finish our Coffee as they said the needed our table for a large group. I thought the meal was pricy in comparison to our usual breakfast place, the Dipsea Cafe. I am really surprised by this. This is a small town and you can't do this to people. read more

I used to come here a lot when I lived in MV and it was nice to return recently and try it again. I love the menu - they offer a variety of breakfast selections. I tried the Million dollar bacon Benedict and it was delicious. I love places that serve crispy hash browns so +1 there. My friend had the breakfast tacos which were also good. She raved about the potatoes as well. The portions are huge so you are getting good value out of it. Service was great. If you want a big breakfast then it's a good spot. read more

The food here is amazing! And I love having a local breakfast place in Mill Valley. However, we came on a Tuesday and the service was terrible. It seems like there were two servers. The woman took our order from the machine, which I thought was kind of rude. They seemed generally kind of annoyed anytime we'd ask for something. The only reason we had to ask was because no one checked on us the entire meal. Oh by the way, it wasn't even busy in the restaurant. I'm actually literally sitting here, 30 minutes after I've finished my meal and my plate still isn't cleared. I got a bottomless mimosas and they complained that I ordered two since my wife took a sip. As a former server myself I never want to trash servers because I know it's a hard job, but I also know there are just a few basic things you have to do, you have to be friendly, you have to take the order in a timely manner, you have to check on your guests at least once, and the plates should be cleared when the guest is done eating. None of these happened. This is actually the first time I've felt that the service is bad enough at a restaurant to write a review. I'm still giving it three starts because the chefs do a good job and ambience is on point, but the weekday service needs to be seriously worked on. read more
