My upstairs shower started leaking. I noticed that every time someone took a shower the wall under it would get wet. I called a few plumbing companies in the area. Some of the plumbing companies weren't willing to open up the wall, I had to hire a different company to open the wall before they would send a plumber out. What the heck!? Some companies wanted to charge a diagnosis fee just to open up the wall. Then another company came to my house didn't even do a thorough inspection and then said it was a complicated fix. Then they quoted me an outrageous amount of money to fix it, I could remodel my entire restroom for that amount. And, this didn't include the drywall patching. Most companies are just looking to see how much money they can take you for! To top it off that company couldn't even do it until the next day. I called the Superior Rooter Plumbing and talked to the technician Jose at ~10AM and told him my situation. He told me he could be at my place between 12PM and 1PM. He mentioned he'd call me 30 mins in advance. At 12PM I get a call to update me that he'll be here at 12:30PM. Great communication skills!! He arrived promptly and asked me a few questions and began a thorough diagnosis. After a few checks of the common issues, he asked if he could open up the wall to see what was going on. The wall already had signs of a leak and some slight mold. I said, "Sure, do whatever you have to do to fix it." The issue ended up being the threaded stem where the tub spout attaches. I guess when my home was built 15 yrs ago the builders either didn't tighten it enough or didn't use enough Teflon tape on the threads. After he was done, Jose told me not to have anyone patch up the hole for 2-3 weeks. This way I could confirm that it was no longer leaking before having someone fix the dry wall. In total he must of spent about 30-45 mins to diagnose and fix the issue. If you want an honest and fair plumber who isn't looking to price gouge you, call Superior Rooter Plumbing. I asked why he didn't have many reviews on yelp and he mentioned it was because most of his business was commercial business. Well you know what? I've found my go to plumber. When I explained that we were not installing it today they wanted payment of $2750 for installation even if they were not doing the work because they had a work order on their phone and they showed up to install. They were upset because they weren't getting paid for coming out and completing the work order. I offered to pay them a service charge just to get them to leave. But was told I need to pay the full work order amount of $2750 even if they weren't doing the work. This business needs to screen their contractors.

We finally decided we were tired of having a plumbing emergency every couple of months, and hired GSP once more, to replace every pipe in the house: new copper on the service side, new ABS on the drain side. The Good: GSP's crew showed up on time every day of the job, and always communicated what rooms they'd be working in, when the water would need to be shut off, when inspections would happen, and everything else pertinent to the job. After all the pipes were replaced and the water was back on, we've had zero leaks or issues. Everything just worked, the first time. This is really a testament to the care and quality that GSP puts into their work! Carlos was particularly generous with his time during the project, and helped us with some minor plumbing jobs that were clearly not part of the scoped work. He patiently answered a thousand of my questions and never seemed annoyed or rushed. There were little touches I was very impressed by: without asking, the GSP crew re-routed one of my hose bibs to make it easier to access & use, for example. The Bad: We had a misunderstanding around the water heater, which was also replaced as part of the job. I expected a 50 gallon unit but a 40 gallon unit was installed. Not a big deal for us since it's a small house, but I'm a little disappointed to not get what was written in the job spec, nonetheless. We understand it doesn't make sense to clean everything at the job site for the end of each work day, only to come back in a few hours and mess it all up again. However, because the job site in question was the home we were living in, this was a bit of a hardship. We spent many evening hours sweeping, scrubbing, and vacuuming up drywall and assorted dust that was left behind, so we could sit on our couch, or cook a meal. The Verdict: We are very happy with our new pipes, clean water, and improved pressure! We would absolutely hire GSP again for a job of any size. The most important thing for us was the job being done with quality, and both the materials and workmanship provided by GSP have that, in spades!
