Have used CMS on many occasions. Always on time and the work is always professionally done.

We hired CMS plumber to our house to fix the toilet flushing issue. We were charged $425 for one hour work. Their hourly rate is $225 and they charge the repair kit for $200. We were NEVER shown the receipt for the part. It turns out the repair kit costs about $24.98 in Home Depot and the plumber got it from Home Depot, 1 mile from our house. This is a downright rip-off and dishonest practice. During the repair, the plumber turned off the water and turned it on. Within 24 hours, we came home and the house was boomed with loud water pipe rambling sound, as if the pipes are going to blow off, which has never happened before for the past 30 years we've lived here. We called CMS back and another plumber came. Since this is the problem they might have caused, obviously related to whatever they did to the pipe, we assumed there will be no charge just to see why it happened. Instead, Cory insisted we need to pay an "inspection" fee for $125, because the plumber came here for a few minutes. Note that we have been hiring them for over years and the pipe problem happened right after they left. The attitude of getting every penny you could is not what we expected. We then got a quote from CMS for nearly $1,600 for fixing the pipe issue and was "given a couple of days to consider", as if they are so cheap that the quoted price will go away if we didn't hire them. We decided to hire someone from Taskrabbit. Within 2 1/2 hours, the parts were bought, we were shown the receipt - the total - parts and labor - was $650, almost 1/3 of what CMS quoted us. Judge yourself if they are an honest, reasonable, transparent, courteous business that you should hire. Please ALWASY, ALWAYS ask them to show you the receipts of parts they claim they bought for you. We over- paid them twice as much because we trusted them and didn't ask to see the receipt and they didn't bother showing us. Good luck! read more

I hired this company in Sept 2024 to repair a toilet leak in the wall (stains exfiltrated on the wall). About 1.5 years later In April 2026 the exactly same problem happened again. I called them again to conduct the same repair and the technician confirmed there is no other problems with the pipe. So this has to do with either parts quality or workmanship. Other toilets in the same building could have the same the problem but the repair usually last 10 years or more. So 1.5 years is definitely unusual according to the property manager. When I called the owner Scott. He rejected any requests to waive the labor or any discount, instead, he threatened to charge more if I keep talking to him. This time, the leak went into the downstair unit and their bathroom paint is wrinkled - I will have to spend another $2000 for the drywall and repaint for the neighbor downstairs. Yesterday afternoon, I discovered that my garage sink was backing up whenever I used the disposal in the kitchen. I called CMS this morning at 9:30 and Angel was at my door at 3:30, as promised. He found the cleanout for the sink (unlike a previous plumber I'd used when the same sink backed up a couple of months ago and just went through the P-trap under the sink), snaked out the clog, tested everything, and cleaned up and re-doped the P-trap that the previous plumber had used (it was leaking and I hadn't known!). He also showed me how to flush my water heater when I mentioned I hadn't done it since it was installed last year! And he did it all in one hour, explaining what he was doing along the way. And it was about one-third of the cost of that other plumber...the one who did a half-assed job. I'll be calling CMS for future plumbing needs - and asking for Angel. Thanks! read more

I had significant water knock in my home plumbing. Walter and Gary from CMS had to do quite a bit of investigation to determine that the source came from my irrigation system. It was not easy to diagnose, but I was able to make upgrades to my home plumbing that were needed, and then go forward to repair my older irrigation system via my landscaping company. Not an easy project but I was super happy with the service from CMS. No upselling, clear communication and recommendations. Noticed a water leak at 7pm on a Sunday night, and it was bad enough I needed to shut off the water to the house. I called CMS, and the offered to send someone out that night. Since I had the water off already, I was ok with the next day. They sent someone first thing on Monday morning, and had it all fixed by noon. They also identified pieces that were adjacent and about to fail, and fixed those while they were at it. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the work done, and the professional approach. The cost ended up being half of what I had expected, making me very happy. Next time I need plumbing service, I'll be calling CMS. read more

If you are looking for bad workmanship and office attitude then book an appointment with CMS Plumbing. CMS installed 4 new shower cartridges in my home, they didn't seal back up the trim nor did they install one back correctly. We immediately notified them upon finding out it was installed incorrectly. They came out and stripped the screw. Told us we needed to get the new parts for them to correct. Fine. I purchased the new parts to have this error on their part corrected which cost us $415 plus sales taxes. I advised them that we just received the parts and to schedule. Cory called and said sorry it's your hard water that created this we are not covering this. Shower fine for 8 years, CMS replaced the cartridge no issues removing the handles. Clearly installed wrong, you can see the screw hole in the picture facing up. Of course water will sit there if you install something upside down. When it rains do buckets collect water? Several neighbors have tried CMS and have gone elsewhere due to service and office staff. There is a reason why not to use them. read more

I want to say kudos to Walter. A very young plumber who told me how much he enjoys his profession and loves doing it when I asked him if he likes being a plumber.. He was very professional very knowledgeable on what needed to be done. He let me watch as he proceeded to work on disconnecting the p-trap in order to thread the auger through the drain pipe. He didn't hesitate to explained to me what the problems were when I asked him questions. He also explained why the p-trap should be replaced. When job was done he ran water down the drain and had me run a wash cycle so as to be sure that when the spin cycle drained there would be no back up and drain is not clogged anymore. Get this. After drain pipe was cleared he cleaned the work area and even mopped up the floor. Now, that was something I would have never expected. P. Finally, wrapping up he battened down the hose leading into the drain pipe to keep it from popping out of the drain due to water pressure during the spin cycle. Yeah. I can do a load of laundry. The work they performed and how they laid out the new copper is just stunning. Their craftsmanship is top notch bar none. We had a laundry list of things that needed attention, which we kept putting off. When our toilet started to leak, it was time to address everything. New sinks, toilet handles not working, toilet leak, clogged drain, etc. We rec'd a large quote from one company. Friends told us to call CMS. We did and we got a much better, reasonable quote. I discovered a large fracture in the 4" main drain line. I called CMS and requested that they repair / replace this section of the line AND asked that they snake the line, because of constant backups in the sinks and tubs. CMS made the repair, and left w/o clearing the drain line. They told my wife it was clear. When I returned, I decided to test the drains. The kitchen sink and bathroom tub backed up almost immediately. Obviously, CMS had not bother to test their work. Now, we had to coordinate a 2nd visit - you know, waiting thru a 3 hour arrival window. CMS came out and snaked the drain. They found leaks in a couple of places in our 2" drain lines. I asked them to make the repair. They said that would require another visit. On the 3rd visit they made the repair using 2 lengths of 10' 2" ABS pipe. They presented me with a bill that included $160 for the ABS pipe. Home Depot sells ABS pipe for $15 each. Now I really regretted not taking a hard look at the billing for parts from their first visit. That bill was over $1,300, and I should have asked for an itemized parts list. I told CMS that I was not going to pay the bill for their 3rd visit. I'd had it with their wasting MY time, their wildly excessive billing for parts, and their casual attitude about their work - not even testing it. I ended up sitting in the office of CMS's head guy. He was not happy with his employee's actions, and we settled this matter in my favor. read more

Wow, seriously torqued at this company. Spent over $3500 with them over the past few years on various pluming things, and over $800 in the last few weeks trying to resolve a clogged main line. They guy that came out first did NOT fix it, as it immediately backed up again (see pictures below). They came out again and fixed the problem right this time, but now have charged me AGAIN!!! They insist that drain backups are not a warranty item. Ridiculous, I would think that they could do better than that, especially with a loyal customer and one incompetent employee. I scheduled an estimate appointment at my house a week in advance during my lunch break from 12-1pm and nobody ever came by. They didn't even give me a courtesy call to let me know they were running late or had to reschedule. Very disappointed, seems no respect for customer's time; or poor time management.
