The third call, they finally told me that the technician who was supposed to come to my house was "MIA." Each day we had scheduled, I vacuumed, put away furniture, and even boarded the dogs... Never never never use this company. A complete waste of $128 for two rooms and a hallway. We spent the night before getting all the furniture and items off the floor to make sure the tech wouldn't miss a spot. The tech showed up promptly at 8 am, was here 40 mins and left. He vacuumed first w a vacuum that desperately needed the bag changed....there was dust flying out everywhere. Then came in and sprayed down a chemical and buffed it into the carpet, went out got a rake and raked up the carpet and that was it. If I could give negative stars I would. I had a small 4 inch tear in my berber carpet (one single strand). The corner of a piece of furniture I moved caught the carpet and tore it up. Kiwi said that they could seamlessly fix the carpet. The first "technician" came out and BUTCHERED our carpet. He cut a 12x12 in square out of the carpet and tried to patch in a new piece of spare carpet I had saved. When the Kiwi cleaning guy came in the next day, he advised me to call the office and have a guy come out and redo it. And added that the patchwork was awful. (He also asked me to pay him cash under the table...) They sent the same "technician". The "technician" gave me a number of excuses why he did the patchwork the way he did and quote said "9 out of 10 times it is seamless, but your carpet is that 1 time." Not a vote of confidence. The carpet still looked terrible, so I scheduled another appointment and told them to send a new "technician". The new guy was rude but he did take his time to do the job. He agreed that the first "technician" did a hack job and couldn't comprehend why he cut a 12x12 inch section out. The carpet still looks awful and in no way is seamless. Kiwi did issue me a refund, with the explicit terms that if I cashed the check, I could not sue... I should have demanded that they replaced the whole section of carpet. Although, my gut tells me that I would have been wasting my breath. DO NOT call this company for damage restoration! read more

I had 3 rooms of carpet cleaned + all the tile in my house (about 500sq ft) cleaned with their service. I booked weeks in advance for a Monday and the Saturday and Sunday before they called to ask if I'd be willing to have the service moved from 2-4 to 12-2. Not a problem, we rescheduled. After a call at 2:15 to the office, they - without apology - told me the technician was in my area and would be there in 10-15 minutes, tops. He finally arrived full of excuses at 3pm. As he started prepping the rooms, it was clear that he wasn't going to move any accent furniture. (We had removed chairs and the like already, but assumed as with other services in the past the technician could work around an accent table or two). It was only once we asked to move them and we moved them out of the room ourselves that he cleaned beneath them. They're certainly not the cheapest service and while I have the 2 year guarantee and will likely use it, I'm not looking forward to their scheduling inconveniences when doing so. I give them a 3 star because the job itself was done to expectation. I don't feel they deserve any more than that because any carpet cleaning service should be able to clean a carpet - it's the service capability that would repeat customers. I scheduled an appointment to have my carpets cleaned for two bedrooms, one hall, stairs, and one landing. Prior to my appointment, I was told that I would be charged $149 for everything (taxes included). Imagine my surprise when the technician gives me a bill for $297 at the end of the appointment. That's TWICE the amount that I was told I would be charged!!! I was completely blindsided. He claimed that he was charging me for extra protection that he put on the carpet. I sent a year-old rug to Kiwi with some matting and pretty dirty. I asked them if they could handle it and they said yes. A week later, I get the rug back and it looks EXACTLY the same. I called them, and they arranged to have it picked up and cleaned a second time. While it did come back BETTER, I still threw the rug away. They were not able to clean and restore it and I wish they would have been honest with me and said that from the beginning. Instead, they did what they could and took my money. So I paid $95 to be stressed out and throw the rug away myself. I will NEVER use them again, and I do not recommend to anyone. I picked Kiwi because all the ads stated they use green products. They cleaned the carpet and that night our eyes were burning/watering, throats were burning, nose was burning, and I have asthma so I couldn't breath. The smell in the house was a chemical smell. I called to talk with them about it and they sent someone out. Ends up the chemical used permeated the walls, my daughters furniture, bed, etc. We had to move out of our house for 2 weeks. We had chemical testing done at their urging. The chemical test shows industrial strength cleaning chemicals that are above the EPA standards for long term exposure. Kiwi has reimbursed us for some of this but there is still chemicals in our house they are not willing to take care of stating they don't believe it's their fault. read more

The time was scheduled between 12:00-3:00 today and I also was called with all details the day prior. The service rep was extremely punctual arriving at 12:00 and worked until 3:00 doing a very good job. Used Kiwi to have living room carpet cleaned (500sqft). We've used them in the past in other markets and here in Dallas to clean the ducts - this time they were less than great. Used half off deal to get the room for 50.00. They arrived on time, came in and after trying to up sell on every other rug in sight, got to work. They said over the phone that they move furniture - we moved the bulk of it the night before anyway but left a sectional, chair and ottoman. They moved the sectional a few inches, but did not vacuum, treat, buff, or rake under it. Wife did agree to have them do one rug - 5'x8' rug cost 50.00! She talked them down to 45.00. Anyway we'll likely call them back under the free return (small fee) policy to try and get some $back but would not recommend them for carpet cleaning. Bad experience overall with this company, and will never use them again. We were moving and called Kiwi to clean our grout and carpets. We were very happy the first day. When they left there was what looked like dirt on our tile. We assumed it was from where they cleaned the grout, but when we went to mop the floors the "dirt" would not come up. Long story short (and a month later) we were promised they would buff out the scratches on our tile but the scratches are still there; we were promised a refund but have yet to see a check. I tried calling the local office, but after trying three numbers, several times, I gave up. Every phone rang, then went straight to a busy signal. It is more effort than should be required to tell them that their service worked well, so here I am on the Yelp soapbox. The Kiwi serviceman, Eric, showed up on time, took care of the paperwork first, and settled in to work. My sofa and arm chairs have seen better days, and after Eric left, they will see a few more. He performed admirably and efficiently. If Eric is any indication of how they hire and train their people, both the management and the service personnel deserve to be acknowledged. I would recommend this company's service to anyone, any day. As someone who's not reticent about complaining when the occasion warrants it, I know it is equally important to toss a few kudos when people do what they say they will. So, in reading all these reviews I can tell you first hand a lot of those negative reviews are from people wanting a free carpet cleaning. I used Kiwi services on 3/5/16 and things didn't go as expected at all because my first tech Rich A did half the job, in half the time and sold me on all the bells and whistles I've heard about in these reviews. I called upset, angry, and wanted a full refund. Here's where kiwi got the 4 stars from me... They handled every issue, complaint, and tirade I threw out with nothing but patience and a promise to make it right. I allowed them to send out a second tech named John on 3/9/16 and that's when I saw that, when done right, this process works despite my confusion with no extraction. My carpets are old and have pet stains from 2 yrs of an untrained dog roaming free and when John left they looked almost new but I was still unhappy with the stains I saw under a black Light and wanted a partial refund because I was sure a steam cleaning would fix it. My steam cleaning I just got on Friday is STILL wet and my carpets look worse. KIWI works if you get the right tech but even if you don't, trust them that they'll send out the right one and if your smart ask for John. read more

When I called to schedule an appointment, they said they would be there between 12 and 2 pm the next day. I called customer service at 2:15 to ask if there was a problem finding the place and they said they were en route and would be there by 2:30. At 3:15, the technician showed up and asked what he was supposed to be cleaning. (THE COUCH!) I've used some other services, but I come back to Kiwi. Their 1 yr. warranty is pretty sweet, as long as you take advantage of it. I have my carpets (very light beige) cleaned 2-3 times per year, and they look if not "great", then at least "very good". Some techs are better than others. If you find a guy you like (more thorough, or personable, or whatever) you can get that same guy to come back. I've tried a couple steam cleaners, but the clean didn't seem to last as long. read more

I have been using Kiwi Services for many years. They offer a small window of arrival (I'm not stuck at home waiting for a time between 8 am and 5 pm), and they are there within that time. I'm not expected to have the carpets freshly vacuumed or small furniture out of the way--they do all of that themselves. I have a small dog who forgets that her bathroom is outside. Kiwi offers multiple options to get rid of stains and odors. Their policy of coming back throughout the year for a small service charge is great in that regard. They also take the large rugs to be cleaned and returned smelling fresh and odor-free. The guys have always been polite and helpful. read more

They instead gave me the run around for two days in a row before I decided to call it off. Here I am a second time down here in Texas trying to close out my girlfriend's apartment and I even called a week in advance for the appointment. Guess what? They somehow had a brand new dispatcher paired up with a brand new technician. So nothing was done about my appointment at all. For two fucking days no less. I do not recommend their services. In August 2015 I contracted to have my carpets and A/C ducts cleaned.The carpet cleaning included two stairwells. While the technician was cleaning the carpets, he got a call from his office telling him that he needed to be at another location within less than an hour. He rushed the remainder of the job. When I checked his work, he had left a bad spot in front of the commode in one of my bathrooms. I asked him to clean the spot. After he left, I checked the spot in the bathroom and he must have left the machine on the spot too long and had burned the carpet. I checked the stairwells and he had not cleaned them.
