One star because I could not give negative 5 stars! On 06/12/2020, Kiwi Services picked up my rugs...last day (over 2 1/2 months ago) I ever saw them. My experience...numerous phone calls, two delivery dates scheduled with no delivery after waiting 7+ hours, and unkept promises to keep me informed daily until resolution...already left three messages to the specific customer service person in last four days and she is too busy to return my calls! For context, my husband and I bought a couch about a year ago but due to living with my father in law for that year, our brand new couch became a huge dog bed. I called Kiwi Services SPECIFICALLY seeking PET stains and odor cleaning services and scheduled an appointment with them. The technician showed up with not only a completely unprofessional attitude, but also claimed the main piece of equipment he uses to clean is broken (exact words being "the equipment I normally use is f*cked up"). We gave him the benefit of the doubt. The couch afterwards still smelled and had very visible stains on it like it had hardly been cleaned at all. We pay (he suggests that he needs to take our debit card to manually enter the information into his phone) for the service but fully intend on calling Kiwi to let them know the situation, expecting they will do what they can to make it right. They did no such thing. I called again to see if they would refund us (letting them know i was perfectly fine sending any kind of proof etc. they may have needed) or send someone else out and they did send someone else out. I was under the impression it was going to be complimentary due to how poor of a job the first person did, and of course being told by Kiwi themselves we have a free redo within 30 days of the first attempt. The two men they sent out the second time informed us that it would actually be $300 more today (for pet stains), and it would have been another $500 had they not taken off the $200 from the first employees job. Frustrated, we paid them for their services because my husband and I do realize they were contractors working via Kiwi scheduling services and they did do a better job (however still not good enough to recommend to anyone in my opinion). After they left I called Kiwi again and the lady (I believe here name is Irene) that answered was very rude. I explained the entire situation to her and she told me that if I had told them initially that it was pet stains they wouldn't have even booked us. This makes no sense as they came for the redo and told us it's an additional $300 for pet stains, this was a surprise as no one on the phone mentioned the extra cost and the first person that came to clean the couch also never mentioned anything about an extra charge. When I told her I definitely mentioned pet stains, she told me I didn't and asked if I would like to listen to the recording and of course I said yes. I was then put on hold and when she came back she told me she would have to have her manager call me back in order to hear the recording of my initial call. We waited the rest of the day and did not receive a call back (great streak on the professionalism). We all know I won't be getting a call back. I do plan to call again but whether or not my husband and I actually have this made right for us is up in the air, and they made it seem very clear to me that they had no intentions of refunding us or making it right in any way. This company is completely unprofessional and I so heavily regret choosing them over a company like Stanley Steamer. Never again, and please, take my advice and choose LITERALLY anyone else to clean your furniture. Do it yourself before you call Kiwi "Services". read more

My husband has been communicating with Shirley at kiwi for a week and responded to her emails regarding scheduling for today from 1-3 pm. When we responded in writing via email and left a voice mail regarding confirmation we received no response. Here it is, the scheduled day, my house is torn apart ready for cleaning, and I call to see what their eta is... they say we're not scheduled. Guy I spoke to says he'll call dispatch and see what happened, and he'll call me back in 5-10 minutes. 30 minutes, no call...i call them again. Spoke to Michelle, and she confirms we're NOT on the schedule. Horrible customer service and follow through. They failed via phone AND email with communication. I went ahead and gave them a try since they are close to home. The man came into the my apartment to clean the carpet and he didn't assist in moving any small items so I went ahead and did it myself. The entire process to clean two rooms took about 30-40 min. By the time he was done, I saw no difference in the carpet. I had no major stains so I was expecting that cleaning the carpet would give the floor the fresh look I was looking for. Well my husband came in after the work had been done and he agreed that there was no difference in the cleanliness of the carpet. The vacuum that they use isn't effective either. The $4 per room is enticing but when the job doesn't get done correctly.. I'd rather keep my $4 for the rug doctor. Btw, when we expressed that the carpet looked pretty much the exact same as before, the carpet tech suggested that we rent the rug doctor to do a better job OR he could give us better results for extra money. So he could have done a better job but wanted us to pay more money than what we were quoted for. read more

I've been using Kiwi carpet cleaning services for over 5 years. They are AMAZING, from the initial phone call to customer service to when they leave your house this company can't be beat. Within a short time frame of them finishing your carpets they are dry and you don't have to walk on soggy floors. Also, your don't have that horrible chemical smell it's a very pleasant almost fruity scent but not overbearing. If you get the warranty (get it, will not regret) it's a simple process, call in schedule the appointment and they come out and do the process all over again for a great price. A friend I work with was so pleased, she showed me before and after pics and gave me their number. Fairy was persistent on following up with an online quote I did and she was very nice and helpful. Got it scheduled right away before the summer in May. I was pleased with the service and even though I paid about $100 more than what was my original quote, it's worth the 1-yr warranty they offer and they got the pet stains and odor removed. Not worth the money. At no point to they do any kind of suction/vacuum on your carpets to get any dirt up/out of it whatsoever. The tech even goes as far to tell you that you must wait until carpet dries and vacuum yourself to get any of the dirt out of the carpet. What did I pay for? I thought I was hiring someone to clean my carpets. Tech was transparent and explained it all to me. Basically they spray simple green on your carpet and then use a small floor waxer with a brush pad on it to rub and grind that into your carpet. Thats it. You want the dirt out?? Better wait 2 hours for the carpet to dry and vacuum yourself because none of the dirt comes out until you do. Tech was in and out of my 2500 sq ft hosue in about 45 mintues. Was wearing some super dirty work shoes with no protectors. But they dont need to since they are doing nothing but spraying your carpet with simple green and then rubbing it and whatever dirt is already in your carpet even further into it. I did as instructed and vacuumed my carpets when they dried. They do look better so the spray did something. They do not look nearly as good as other services who actually shampoo/steam/etc your carpets. So Kiwi gets 2 stars and will never get my business again for any of their services. I feel like based off the work that was done I should have paid about $75 which was ~1/3 of what I actually paid. read more

I made an appointment to have the carpets at my mom's house cleaned today; Kiwi promised to show up between 10:00 and 1:00 pm. At 10:30 the doorbell rang, and a representative showed up - not with cleaning equipment, but with a note pad... a salesman. As he looked around, he informed me that the carpets needed "extra deep cleaning" in places (note that the service is supposed to include "spot cleaning" where necessary) and the price... would more than double. I didn't take the bait; I told him I would call someone else. I had relied on previous good reviews that seemed to set this company apart from the other but alas, it seems to be a problem in the industry. Kiwi is no better - and maybe worse - that the others. I would give KIWI NO STARS - but must give them one in order to post. They NEVER showed. 10-1 window, I stayed until 2 - got the runaround every time I called to inquire about technician arrival. "They're not answering... probably busy cleaning or driving" was their response- When I called to say I needed to drive home- one hour drive to meet a tech that never showed, one hour back - and they asked if they could Have a second chance- long story short, I scheduled again. Carpet cleaning tech when arrived quoted me $ 290 .00 to treat and clean for pet urine. He assured and promised he could get rid of the smell. I was very suspicious when I realized he was just using a buffer and scrub pad. No truck mounted unit. How do you get urine out of the carpet by scrubbing it in? Fast forward 2 days later smell was back. So I schedule them back for another appointment to retreat and they do not show up. I have to call them and they tell me they are short handed that day and they would have to come the next day. After they show up they clean again then give me an estimate to remove pad in two rooms and want another $ 290.00. I wound up hiring another company to replace the pad and clean the carpet with a truck mounted steam unit which is recommend by most carpet manufacturers. This took care of the problem. I would have been a lot better off calling the steam truck company first. If I had it to do over again I would not call KiWi and they are not company that I would recommend to someone else. read more

This company should receive a negative 5 star rating, but 1 is the lowest star available. NEVER BELIEVE A WORD THEY PUBLISHED ON THEIR WEBSITE. This is the worst cleaning company my wife and I have ever dealt with in past 50 years. We hired them to clean our newly purchased home at Houston to perform 5 works. The contract was for $2090.76. They were supposed to send a crew to perform the following 5 works. 1. Air-condition Duct cleaning of the entire 6980 SQ feet of the 3 floor house. 2. Clean all the intake and outflow vents 3. Clean and sanitize the carpets of all the 3 floors. 4. Clean the wooden floor of Dining hall 5. Clean the laundry room, fireplace, tiled surfaces, I have warned them about high ceilings and need for extended ladders. The company sent a single undernourished VIATNAMESE subcontractor in a minivan and a foldable 6 foot ladder. He came around 10AM and left at 5PM. At the end he said he has done the job. However, the rugs did not appear to have been cleaned. In fact, the carpets were worse. The guy said that they do not use steam cleaning. None of the vents were cleaned. When we complained he promised to come next day with a 12 foot ladder and clean the ducts. Next day he came with a 8 foot ladder and could not reach any of the vents. The company took full payment from the credit card. Imagine paying $200 an hour for one man to clean the entire 6980 SQ ft house. When I complained, the subcontractor told me that, I should have called him directly instead of calling KIWI. He says that the company takes 75% of payment for nothing. Kiwi services picked up TWO rugs from me. Managed to ruin one by only what we can assume is getting it wet and leaving it folded up for weeks. Tried to say it was from our animals until I sent the pictures. They also had already had the rug for weeks before they got back to me. Then I was told that they would replace the rug. I agreed to a smaller rug as the one they ruined was $500 and settled for around $250 ish area which is what I paid to have it "cleaned." I was told they would process a refund within 4-6 weeks. Now my contact is just ignoring my emails and it has been around 12 weeks. Please do not waste your time with them. They could potentially ruin your rug with careless technicians. Called them at 230pm and Josh very nicely tells me.that whomever booked it scheduled it for 12/27....now you might ask why would we want to have the cleaning done AFTER.the holiday rather than before all.the guests show up? I allowed Kiwi Services to remove 4 rugs for cleaning. I was told it would take 2 weeks. After 7 weeks the rugs were returned but I had to send 2 of them back as they were muddy and smelled terribly. I do not believe they did anything more to them than hose them down. I paid $611 (keep in mind that's HALF the total bill) they were to disinfect and use a germicidal wash. My experience with Kiwi has been horrible from the start. On my first visit the technician showed up much later than the quoted time I was given by Irene and Tunji. I specifically asked when the technician would be out here because I would need to take off work and they assured me I was the first appointment and therefore was provided an 8-9AM arrival time. If I am quoted a time by someone, there is an expectation that a follow up will be provided if the time is not going to be met. None of that occurred. The back and forth between dispatch and the technician was awful - why isn't the technician calling me if he needs help locating my place or is running behind? Why does dispatch not have a better way of communicating with the technician? Why is the technician not answering their phone? I have so many questions. After the technician finally showed up and finished the service, I was very unimpressed by how the upholstery cleaning was done - simply spraying the couch and moving the cushions around isn't my definition of clean and sure isn't what I was sold on the phone with the Sales Department. The only real difference was the removal of a small stain, but other than that the couch looked exactly the same. However, I didn't fuss, I just asked if they would come out again and they said no problem. We scheduled a time and I took off work, again. The technician comes out 2 days later and immediately has an attitude. He refused to redo the upholstery cleaning and said he was only here to give a quote to deodorize the couch otherwise I can "Febreze as I wish". I pulled up the confirmation email that said a redo of the service and he said that it didn't matter and that he would only do it if I bought the additional service. I was completely shocked by the lack of professionalism and the abrasiveness of the technician. Not only that, but this tirade continued which ultimately led to me having to escort the technician out as he was becoming argumentative. I will not be disrespected in my own home and best believe I will let everyone know about the misleading information that is provided by Kiwi. Does Kiwi not have a 100% satisfaction guarantee? I spent HUNDREDS of dollars and I am not satisfied with the service that I received each time they came out. How dare you say you won't redo the work and then make me pay even more money. I am paying for a service, I shouldn't have to constantly follow up and look like the bad guy every time the service is not what I was told it would be. If I could give 0 stars I would. The company tricks you into paying a fortune for your first cleaning by telling you that you get follow up cleanings under warranty for a year for a reduced fee. Then when you schedule the follow up cleanings they do not show up. There have been three times now that they have scheduled my appointment from 4-7, I left work early to be there, they didn't show up during the scheduled visit times, I called several times after that time to get a status, they promised a technician would be there and then they called me after the window to cancel my appointment. Out of four visits they have only showed up for one as scheduled. I am not even continuing to schedule any follow up visits with this company even though I have 4 months left on my warranty. They did an excellent job repairing my rugs. I thought the price was reasonable. Nothing is done for $50 these days. I shopped around to five different places before settling on kiwi for carpet cleaning and couch cleaning. The receptionist was very informative and she quoted me a price that was competitive with the other options. They sent two guys out the next day. Carpet cleaning looked excellent. One room had very heavy pet stains which came at an extra cost for extra treatment, but they were clear about that from the beginning. All told we thought the work was great and at a fair price. They also took some ugly stains out of the couch. We will be using them again for sure. read more

After they had it for 1 month (a few weeks longer than originally promised), it came back and still had residue on the rug and the problem area had clearly not been cleaned. Further, the delivery person arrived 30 minutes after a 2 hour window. To make matters worse, they said that we owed an additional $180...come to find out it was because of an error made by their accounting department, as we had paid 100% upfront. If I could put negative stars I would. A scheduled arrival time of 10-12 was pushed by Kiwi to 12-2. This was not convenient at all but I had no choice. At 2pm they called and said he was on his way and would arrive in 25 minutes - at 2:45 I called and cancelled. While their warranty is wonderful and the cleaning services are generally pretty good this was my last time . They have never arrived within the arrival window when I've used them but its generally only 10-15 minutes. If using Kiwi, consider it like the cable company - you need to allow a minimum of an 8-hour window to show up. read more

I first used Kiwi Services in January after researching multiple companies. I thought the pricing was very fair and their customer service was exceptional. I then was very pleased with the cleaning to further impress me. 2 weeks ago I received a follow up mailer reminding me of their warranty service where they can come back out for a nominal cost. What a great service! So for under $50 I get two rooms cleaned again, and that sure beats renting a carpet cleaning machine and doing it on my own. I scheduled an appointment to have my carpets cleaned for two bedrooms, one hall, stairs, and one landing. Prior to my appointment, I was told that I would be charged $149 for everything (taxes included). Imagine my surprise when the technician gives me a bill for $297 at the end of the appointment. That's TWICE the amount that I was told I would be charged!!! I was completely blindsided. He claimed that he was charging me for extra protection that he put on the carpet. Wow, Kiwi is the Neimans of carpet cleaning when it comes to customer service. It amazes me every time. Any time I call to schedule an appointment for pick up/delivery they are always incredibly friendly. They are always very accommodating when working out a good time for me. Drivers are always super polite and prompt. Prices are also very competitive. Sometimes it can take a little bit (week or so) to get your rug back to you depending on what all you have done to it, but its done RIGHT!
