After the whole controversy with Via313's labor practices, I didn't really know where to go to get some Detroit style pizza. I'm very pleased to have found Kizza! It's nestled in a little strip mall in Cedar Park. Friendly service and a small business that I'm happy to support. We couldn't decide what to try, so we got several different slices and liked all of them. Their flavors are very creative. Our personal favorites are the mushroom spinach, sweet heat pepperoni, and the hot honey harvest. We love the drizzle of hot honey on some of their slices. The dough is made fresh daily; it's the right thickness and crunchy on the bottom. Everything you want in a Detroit style pizza. There has been some recent hype on social media, so some days they run out early, but give them some grace. They are run by a small hard working team that doesn't compromise quality. The same girl has always been at the counter and she is so nice! Sweet heat - 11/10. It is one of the best pizzas I've ever had. It's really THAT good. But it's unique too...I've never had a pizza flavor quite like it. Sausage and peppers - 9/10. Another one of our favs, but everything we have tried here is good! I found my new favorite spot! Located on the end of a shopping center with plenty of parking. Kizza sell Detroit style pizzas by the square (an equivalent to large slice). Everything was made in house from the dough to the sauces. The pizza is obviously made ahead of time, but heated up upon ordering. They also have 14 inch round pizzas and you also can buy a Detroit style pizza with eight squares. It was a hard time choosing my favorite but if you like spice, I highly recommend getting the Sweet heat pepperoni. Water will still be needed, but it was the perfect combination of jalapeños, red peppers , and hot honey. The owner was super friendly. He was able to explain all the pizza options, answer any questions I had, along with future plans for the business. Just WOW! My husband found this place on Yelp while we were moving in and unable to cook. He showed me the menu and it's easy to see that a foodie runs this place! Went in the first night and got three pies (Hawaiian, Mama's Favorite and Burrata) and while I was standing there looking at the case, also bought a square of Sweet Heat Pepperoni ($5). I want to say the round pies averaged around $21 for a 14". They were HEAVENLY! I asked Ki why he put arugula on a Hawaiian and he explained it was to cut through the fattiness from the bacon and prosciutto. Genius! I usually don't care for meat centric pies but the Mama's was delicious with a great kick. The burrata was like an elevated Margherita. All were delicious with a perfect thin, charred crust and great ingredients. But the star - for me - was the Sweet Heat Detroit Style. This is NOT my vibe at all. But it was calling to me. OMG - first bite made me a believer! The crust was light and not too bready, with a beautiful burnt cheese crisp. The pepperoni paired perfectly with the house pickled jalapeños, Peruvian pear drop peppers and hot honey. This pizza was PERFECTION. I literally dreamt about it. So the next day we were all hoping for leftovers but they disappeared during the night...& we went back again. This time we got the Hawaiian and Burrata, but also an entire Sweet Heat Pepperoni, which was enormous and well worth the $34. I ate it for breakfast and lunch the next two days and even though they sent reheating instructions, I ate it cold and loved every bite. I worked for years as a "Pizza Specialist" and have tried thousands of pies. This place is TOP TIER. It's dangerous to have so close to me and I fear for my wallet and waistline when they start doing delivery! I met Ki the first night and he was super nice. TLDR: Very few places impress my family. This one hit it out of the park and very reasonably priced for the level of quality and flavors. Also, reheats very well. We tried all three vegetarian flavors. Spinach Mushroom, vodka & hot honey harvest. The first two were our favorites and hot honey really surprised us. It was a slow night and so we had the chance to chat with the owner for sometime. He's truly very kind, accommodating and a master of flavors. This place doesn't do anything basic. It's not just plain ranch it's scallion ranch, not just honey but house fermented rosemary (& other flavors just don't remember off the top of my head) and Calabrian hot oil. Really amazing balance of flavors and in a way we haven't experienced before. Don't sleep on the rosemary garlic fries! Delectable! I just HAD to come back and update this. Second time around I ordered online- seamless process and was ready in like 30 minutes. I got the sweet heat pepperoni pizza and added on a to go vodka pizza (while I went to pick up what I ordered lol) and Omgosh it's just sooo good I had to review again! The flavors just blend so well together. I can't decide which one is my favorite! An added bonus is they heat up so well the next day in my air fryer. Love this place. Dropped by for a couple of slices of Detroit-style pizza and a salad. The sweet heat pepperoni with hot honey was delicious. Regular pepperoni was also very good. Both slices were delivered to my table promptly and at a good temp. The Apple Gorgonzola salad is big enough to share and has pecans, Gorgonzola, apples, and a freshly made honey mustard vinaigrette. We are traveling from Utah and decided to take a short break from bbq and we are glad we did! We ordered the pepperoni round and added burrata to it. We got the hot honey on the side and their ranch. Saw this place on a FB reel was impressed, but sadly disheartened. Tried 3 different slices and enjoyed 1. I let my bf eat the rest. Sweet heat was delicious, sometimes going back to the basics of just pepperoni and peppers goes a long way. Also had sausage and peppers and a slice of pizza with some type of cheese similar to Ricotta oh and another with broccolini which was REALLY different. I thought I was going to like that but something was off and peculiar . Wasn't feeling neither one. The seasonings somewhat different and crust slightly burnt on the sausage and peppers. I should note--you order at the counter, and the guy at the counter seemed to take pleasure in correcting me when I mistakenly referred to one piece as a square, because evidently a square meant several things. And he had no interest in telling me if there were any other flavors/types of pizzas about to come up, and just stood there waiting for me to initiate the conversation. My first time there. Then of course he spins the thing around for me to put in a tip... The available squares were warmed up from the counter, which I understood, but it still just didn't seem that fresh or flavorful. Overall, customer service was not very friendly, the pizza was not awesome, and there is zero ambiance, just a very stale room with a lot of tables. Ki (the "Ki" in "Kizza") is an experienced chef with several previous restaurant ventures under his belt and it shows in the ingredients and care he takes in his craft. The payment has options for tips but makes no sense given no one "waits" on you. We have always asked for it heated. Several times they didn't bother.
