But if you like New York style pizza, Saccone's is definitely for you! -GREAT thin crust pizza. Not one ounce of sogginess! Sauce is delicious. Saccone's is the best for a quick lunch slice. I love that they allow me to choose my toppings instead of offering the standard pepperoni or cheese slice only. Everyone that works there has good energy about them and if you can snag a spot to sit you can hear some good conversations. My first Saccone's pizza was in '98 and I'm sure it's not just nostalgia but I think The Dan's Special is the best pizza in the area. In those days, no one was doing meatball pizza here and topping it with fresh basil was even more unique. The guy at the counter was super helpful since I was half and half on the items. Made exactly what I wanted and it was a great experience. The pizza is New York style and had a nice crunch on the bottom of each slice and the crust was nice too. This location is small and had two or three tables. Come here if you want to get yourself a true New York style slice, or you know, a whole pie. Thin in the crust, greasy on top, cheesy goodness, and flavorful toppings. It is everything you could possibly want. The service is great, the guy behind the counter was super nice. He's from up North and you can tell he knows pizza. He was handling us in person and taking orders over the phone at the same time. There isn't much seating here, but they clearly stay busy. We sat inside since it was bright and clean. The windows are huge and the sunlight is pretty nice. The food is so good. We shared one large pizza and had half with meat and half without. They kept the toppings separated really well. If you grew up in New Jersey, you're likely to love the pizza. It's pretty close to the pizza we used to get on the boardwalk at Point Pleasant (this was many, many years ago). It's a floppy and greasy pie (especially the pepperoni) but I happen to love that. I'm not Dave Portnoy. :D This is real pizza, folks, not the crap you get from the chains. We got a plain cheese and one with pepperoni and mushrooms. I liked both, but the pepperoni pie was my favorite. Bring your appetite. Saccone's is very generous with the cheese and toppings. We ate two slices each and felt stuffed. Fortunately, this kind of pie is good the next day. The people there are friendly and helpful. Dont order online. They use a third party delivery service and if that service screws up (which on my order they didnt deliver an item I ordered). Saccone's will just blame it on the delivery service. I talked to the manager (Jake), and he said that he called them and they would reach out and help me. I got no call, no follow up, and completely out of the product I paid for. Not happy and being a life long saccone's fan, I am so disappointed in how this came out, I will never be going back. The NYC pizza here slaps! It tastes just like the ones I've had in NYC, and the staff exudes the same kindness and energy as a true New Yorker! The sauce is flavorful and the crust is nice and crispy, and the guy even gave me a delicious sauce to dip the crust in! So good! We've been on the hunt for good New York-style pizza around the Cedar Park area for a while, and I'm so glad we discovered Saccone's! While it's not right in Cedar Park, it's close enough--and absolutely worth the trip. We ordered a large pepperoni and a large white pizza with bacon, and both were fantastic. The pepperoni was definitely my favorite. It was true NY-style pizza, complete with the perfect crust--thin, crisp, and just the right amount of chew. The white pizza with bacon was delicious, too, with the bacon adding just the right amount of savory flavor. Saccone's has officially become our new go-to pizza spot! 5/5 We came in for lunch today, and we were blown away! We normally just do dominos or something quick, but we saw this place and had to try! When we entered we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff, who explained the menu to us and showed us the sizes of the different pizzas we could order! We went with a large cheese pizza and added sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms.We also got ranch which they make in house & was delicious! They make good pizza, unfortunately the customer service is subpar. I ordered online (I was directed to Seamless-the first choice Google gave me), Seamless charged me, I got there and they said they never received it. I had to reorder when I was there, and they made me pay again. So I paid twice for 1 order. They told me they would 'take care of me' next time. The next time I went, they said 'sorry, we can't help-call Seamless they should help out'. Seamless of course did nothing. It's not about the money, it's about customer retention-I have ordered almost every week for a couple years. I will take my business elsewhere. My husband and I have spent the last year since moving from NYC to Austin in search of a taste that reminds us of home. Despite being a New Jersey-style pizzeria, Saccone's does a great job recreating all the things we love and miss: (1) dough cooked thin and soft, with that nice crust on the bottom; (2) folds nicely without drooping; and (3) the ideal cheese to sauce to topping ratio. Certainly tastes and feels more authentic than Home Slice, who checks most of the boxes but tries a little too hard. As another Yelp reviewer mentioned, Saccone's ALSO reminds me of Joe's Pizza in Williamsburg, Brooklyn - which I believe is the highest praise you can give a spot like this. read more

Texas Forever. That being said, there are some things I do miss from the garden state. State income taxes ain't one of them. But jersey pizza certainly is. So I was really excited when I heard of a jersey pizza spot that was authentic and had great reviews so I quickly jumped my car and for a few minutes, the Mopac felt like the garden state parkway, and research boulevard was i dunno, maybe route 3 or 17. I didn't know what to expect, and was trying to prepare myself for disappointment. I def want to try the Leander full service spot and not just the take out one, but I don't want to leave too much suspense...I gotta say I am impressed...Turned out to be a real commendable showing with a big dose of nostalgia. I have to admit, when I got the box I was a little worried when I saw the slogan "pizza with a jersey attitude" that this was going to be just a gimmick. Like "i asked for spagetti with marinara and got egg noodles with ketchup"...or worse, if a Texan was in NYC and remember a couple years ago these magazines showed these pictures like "watch out texas, here is brooklyn BBQ" and it was the most sad pathetic little plate of BBQ...like that was my concern... Anyway, I get rung up for my pie (15.50 is a jersey kinda price compared to most ATX pizza) and take the box and throw in my car. Pop it open (see below) to take a look. The first thing i noticed if you see the cheese towards the crust of the pie was really white. Now that is great for a coal fired type pie, but not for straight jersey pie. So I was a bit worried. But looking toward the middle looked like the right color combination and I gotta say the look of the crust texture, shape, color combination and doneness was very promising. Close the lid and get back on 183/NJ Route 3 and was very happy about the scent in my car for the rest of the ride home. Had the proper Jersey aroma to it. Got home and ate it, and I have to say the first couple bites I noticed four things right off the bat. First, the cheese was really well done (not like over cooked but it was the right cheese, cooked correctly etc). Second, good curst thickness, doughy/crispy balance. Third, very nice light touch on the tomato sauce. Finally, I wasn't getting the amount of taste I was hoping for. But, when I went to fold the slice to continue, the taste got incrementally better. It's like there is a cheat code embedded in the pizza to prove you're a real jersey guy. Once I folded it, it allowed the oil and grease to properly disperse and fill the pizza with flavor. Think of Mega Maid putting the air back into the Earth and King Roland is like "Aiiirrrrrrrr!!!!". So following the fold it was really awesome pizza with a nice crust finish. Further, something I didn't know is that jersey pizza needs to breathe like an uncorked fine wine. After the pie was out for about 30 minutes the coloration of the pizza toward the crust got better; more of that orange hue from the grease. The pizza changed...so mystical...like stem changer verbs in Spanish. As I was ready to throw the box in the fridge I was thinking how this is going to be a great cold pizza for the morning. So why not 5 stars? I don't know. Maybe I am being too picky but I do think there could have been a bit too much oil on the pie. It felt heavy. Maybe from the oil. I feel like I should be able to eat 3 or 4 slices and still feel okay to hang out and such. Also, not fair to make Texans to have to know a cheat code to properly experience it. Many might not know the trick and not be able to property enjoy it. I will definitely be back and look forward to hitting up Leander for the full experience (especially mozz sticks, Taylor ham egg and cheese), and get a taste of jersey every once in a while. If you're not in for the long haul: Great food, great service. If you want the deets, come along for the ride. I've been hitting this joint up every once in awhile since I've moved, and its always a pleasure. Tried a few pies, but honestly the cheese pie is where it's at. When this bad boy comes out warm, it's got the perfect balance of gooey and greasy with a crisp crust. Eating it on site is a possibility as no one seems to do it (they do have limited seating) and just great to stomach that fresh pie. If you don't love it, you really don't know pizza. But here's the thing, they also sell ranch. Now for me, I hate ranch. I think there are considerably better efforts towards dairy products. I didn't even grow up on ranch on pizza. Do I get this ranch every time? Do I eat it with my pizza every time? Definitely. Will I do this with any other ranch? Nope. I put in a lot of effort to make my own food (pizza included) and never would I put the effort in for ranch) but Saccone's has some killer ranch. To add to this, the staff is amazing. They always chat with us, joke with us and wholeheartedly welcome us. When we show up, no one stays to eat, so that may be part of it, but that really adds to the dining experience. Everything starts with the dough/crust and the cheese. The good stuff isn't cheap, so if you are looking for cheap crap, don't bother stopping here because the crust and cheese were just right. Topping are plentiful too--especially liked the ground Italian sausage. Enjoy. Service was fast and friendly. We got half cheese, half margarita. It's was pretty lukewarm by the time I got home, but we scarfed down the first 2 slices anyway and put the rest in a 225 oven in the box. The next slices were even more amazing hot. Like, you guys, I would have eaten my last piece if I didn't have this cannoli (that they made when I got there!) waiting for me.
