I've been here probably 5 times (give or take) and the service always ruin the experience for us. they're open really late (I feel bad for the servers working at midnight) so I sometimes stop by if I'm craving kbbq, and this is my only option at that time. My first time here was probably a week or two after they opened. The owner wouldn't leave us alone and kept lecturing the customers on how to eat the BBQ "the right way". My family is Korean and I've lived in Korea for the majority of my life; we know how to eat kbbq. He was also super slow with refills but the owner was the only server at this time I think, so we hoped they would improve and decided to return again sometime in the future. However, no matter how many times I visit, the servers are always forgetful or slow. They don't refill quickly enough. People are sitting at the table waiting for more food, but it takes them 30 minutes to come back and check on us. And by that time we need mostly everything on our table refilled. I've also had a server telling me "don't ask for so much at once," but it was her fault for abandoning us and not checking if we needed any refills for 30 minutes. The restaurant had ONE other table. What was her excuse for not doing her job properly? She would also go over to the customers in the other table and just chit-chat instead of working. Not to mention how forgetful she was (selectively maybe?) making us repeat our orders 3 times and waste our time limit. read more

Very dissapointing, this is the kind of place that people who don't really know Korean barbecue go to. I lived in Seoul for 3 years and I've been to innumerable Korean BBQ restaurants. I like to think I know a thing or two about authentic KBBQ... and this place ain't it. I was waiting for this place to open for a long time and I wish I had saved my money. The samgyupsal (aka pork belly) is the main dish at almost all KBBQ restaurants you'll ever go to, and ours came rolled up in a giant spiral twist, frozen. Now, it's okay for it to be frozen, I understand and that's normal, but even the laziest Korean restaurants (even in Korea) will still have their meat pre-cut up before giving it to you. I prefer to cook my KBBQ myself and so it was a hassle to use scissors to unravel the twisted roll and cut it up over the grill. I guess they think it looks presentable or something but it really was more annoying than anything else. The grill either cooked too hot or too cold and my meat ended up drying out way too much on the grill, even after I moved it to a cooler area on the edge. Oh good lord, I almost forgot the worst part: TERRIBLE, watery, obviously store-bought kimchi! GROSS! You can tell if a Korean restaurant is good or bad based solely on the kimchi, and this place had some of the worst I've tasted in my life - no joking. Extremely watery, no garlic flavor, sour and soggy instead of crunchy. It's possible that I got a bad batch but YIKES. That was a bad sign when I got my banchan side dishes and I recoiled when tasting the kimchi. The best part of my meal, was (sadly) the samjang sauce... which I've since learned is actually store-bought. My wife ordered the soondubu and was disappointed with it - I tried it and it generally lacked flavor and was way too spicy, even for me - and I love spicy stuff. The tofu in it was extremely bland and the spice made it almost inedible. It's supposed to be more beef or bone broth-y but I couldn't even taste anything else except chili. The restaurant itself doesn't really feel Korean at all, except for the ventilation tubes above the grill. There's weird, harsh lighting and the TVs are constantly playing KPOP videos that randomly stop because the stream they're using dies or gets to the end of a playlist, leading to some weird prolonged silences. The staff seemed very confused about the menu and couldn't answer simple questions. I understand that this place is new and many of the staff are just training and trying to learn, it was even written on the wall that the place isn't 100% yet. But come on, not knowing what comes with the basic samgyupsal set? I was naming off things that any random KBBQ place in Korea would have (Does it garlic? Onion? Samjang?) and they were going "oh, uh, yeah, that's right it does". In fact, they didn't even know what samjang was - a truly criminal thing if you work at a KBBQ joint. Again, new and unexperienced staff. I can forgive them and the service, while not BAD, was simply whatever. I asked if I could order a single All-You-Can-Eat (even though I only had one serving anyways since I wasn't happy) and the staff said timidly "My boss would get super mad if he knew I was doing this but since he's not here I'll do it". I tipped the guy well for doing that but it was disheartening. The prices were also probably the highest I've seen in Eugene for this kind of meal. A couple of Korean U of O exchange students were sitting at the booth next to ours and I could eavesdrop and I heard several negative or joking comments about the food - they were also not enjoying their meal. The owner of this restaurant has supposedly gone to other local KBBQ places and told them some pretty nasty things - he's going to put them out of business, how his place is better, how they're not really Korean, etc. Very, very poor form to do something like that, and adding to the idea that the boss of this place might be a megalomaniac of some kind. Overall, I can say it's probably the worst KBBQ I've had, and it's hard to screw up KBBQ. I won't be back. read more

I've been here a number of times now. Unfortunately, each time the service has been the primary issue. Looking at other reviews, and review responses, it appears there have been a number of staffing issues. I know this can be incredibly frustrating however I don't believe it excuses flat out rude behavior to restaurant patrons. This has been an unfortunate constant in the times I've been here both to me personally as well as to others. I never like to give 1-star reviews, but incredibly poor customer service followed by making excuses on Yelp, is the line I draw. I tried to give this place a shot (I'm Korean myself) and the consistently poor service with average quality food is just not a good combination. Improving customer service would drastically help as a first step. The older lady who waits on tables is in the wrong profession. I never like to bash local businesses but if it saves people from some of the experiences I've had here then I consider that a win. read more

Soft opening evening and expected to wait a little long and not 2 hours! No literally 2 hours!! We arrived at 7 sharp with a group of 8 got on the list and began our wait. After a few minutes pass we remind the hostess who our party was and asked for an ETA. "Soon." She said. The problem was not the wait but rather how everything was handled after we expressed our dissatisfaction. At 1hr 45 we asked the hostess (wearing burnt orange top, corduroy tan pants [didn't get her name so I hope she gets talked to]) when we would be seated and she's said, "soon". She explained that our group would be split up to be seated at two separate tables in order to be seated promptly. Ok, fine. We were fine with that. Here's where things go bad. After waiting for 20 more minutes, a group of 6 people came in who knew one of the waiters got seated within fifteen minutes. We saw this and got frustrated. Once again we went to the hostess and asked when we were going to get seated since everyone else ahead of us who where even bigger parties got seated in bigger tables. My friend and I saw the waiting list and saw that our parties name had been crossed off. The name I filled out on the long list myself. Another party was seated and took our table. I started out by respectfully recognizing the fact that I knew that they were busy on their soft opening week (they opened Monday and this was Friday). We expressed our frustration to the hostess and she started arguing with us saying that the party who got seated 15 minutes after walking in was seated at a table for 6. She was rude while she was explaining this to us in front of other customers. I listened and let her own unprofessional behavior speak for itself. After she was done talking I told her that it didn't matter. What we wanted was a simple apology or a slither of ownership. But we didn't ask for it because we just expressed how our negative experience seemed very unfair for a hungry and upset party of 8. Instead she argued and I let her speak. After listening to her argue I just said, "No thank you. I just wanted to let you know how I feel." The food smelled delicious and I am sure it was but the lack of organization and rude employees soured our appetite and night. read more

DON'T COME HERE!!! WORST SERVICE EVER!!! The owner told us that the computer system was wrong since we had 6 people and everytime we ordered, the computer only submit our order as a 2 people table. So after the 30 minutes wait of every order, we only get a 1-2 people's portion of meat...For 6 people? The restaurant set a rule that we cannot order after an hour and 30 minutes. But we have to wait 20-30 minutes for one order? And you can only order three meats at a time. After we complained to the owner about the time limit thing and our wait and the portion of our food, the owner was rude and telling us that he could not earn money if he gave us more meat???? In an all you can eat restaurant???? I would definitely give a -1000 stars if I could. Never want to come here again. SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!! read more

A fun new option in town to switch up the food scene in Eugene a bit! I haven't lived many places with Korean bbq joints, so I don't have much to compare it too. However, we tried 6 different meats including honey & garlic chicken and both spicy and regular pork belly, and weren't disappointed by anything we tried! I noticed some reviews mentioned slow service- we had quite the opposite experience (and it was on a Saturday at a busy time). In fact, they so quickly changed our grills and brought more food, that we were tapped out after the second round with an hour to go in the two hour time limit they give for unlimited food! You also get whatever sides they have that night (mostly pickled veggies, salad, and rice) and plenty of vegetables to toss on the grill. It took a little while to get a hang of the process of using the grill- but it was a fun hands on experience, with staff ready to help! We definitely left full, and will be back again in the near future! read more

I live in Tacoma Governor Inslee has forced us to take out only for some time now and omfg this Pork Belly coma of mine needed to happen. Tasted great for a fair rate! I've been dying for Korean BBQ for ages, then the virus hit. Finally restaurants have been able to open and my husband and I were able to go to Kkoki. What a treat! This place does not disappoint, we opted for the mid priced all you can eat bbq. The LA Galbi was by far my favorite, they had good bunchan and the service was great. We ordered the strawberry soju drink and it was delicious. Would have ordered a second but I was driving, lol. The only disappointment was die to the COVID restrictions and that is they had no lettuce to make lettuce wraps. No biggie though. We did not leave hungry, that's for sure! Our first AAYE Korean BBQ. I agree with the other post, there are too many limitations to their lunch. Time limits, order limits, extra charges, the threat of additional charge if you don't finish it all. I know this is a so-called "soft opening", but they should at least have had all the ingredients for which you are paying. Plenty of meats, but, no seafood at all. We don't have calamari, octopus or shrimp, but it's still the same $24. each for lunch. Also, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to your bill. A lunch for two with two waters............Over $56. There's just too many reasonable and good restaurants in Eugene to get us to go back here! read more

If it is then it doesn't matter if I let everyone know how much you cost and let them decide if they feel it is worth coming to your restaurant. Full disclosure, if we hadn't gone during their soft opening, I'd be giving them a three. They do have a nice sign up saying they are working out the kinks in service during their soft open. We had the all you can eat grill. I think our grill wasn't set hot enough, the food took a really long time to cook and didn't have the sizzle that you'd expect. It also took a really long time for the food to be brought out, which is surprising since the menu implies that most of the meats are marinated, so you'd think they'd already be prepped. The menu also implies that you get unlimited veggies, but we were told you only get the veggies that the kitchen sends with your meat. I'm not sure if this was related to the soft opening or not. The Chili Pork was particularly delicious, as was the kimchi. The staff was really friendly, but possibly over worked. Each waitress/waiter was covering a lot of tables. The restaurant is beautifully set up and it's a really fun idea. I love the vents right over each grill so you don't leave smelling like a BBQ yourself. We'll probably be giving them a few months to work out the kinks before coming back. read more

Horrible service since the moment we walked in the door. We were so excited to try it after seeing reviews but the lack of service ultimately made me decide to never return. Plenty of tables available and it took 20 mins to seat us. (More than 10 available) then we're told we could not order the all you can eat package unless more than one person did so another member of our party said they would. Two of us wanted an entree, then told we need another person to order a package. Unfortunately not everyone wants a package meal so we offered for two of us to sit at our own table, that way the other two could get their package. Win win (also there was a table directly across and behind us available) the server then says "there are no tables available"... keeping in mind it's a Monday night at 745pm..not exactly prime time for them. Needless to say we left as the service was just so rude and uncalled for and especially when we're so excited to try it. Definitely won't be going back and definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone. read more

Really great service and helpful staff. This was my second time at this location and I had visited the others in Salem and Portland before. Past times I had eaten off the Supreme All You Can Eat package, but this last time we got the standard. The environment was great and tables still felt plenty spaced while during the COVID time. Everything was kept clean, and service was good about refilling waters and bringing out new cups. The meat was good and came with good portion sizes. The first vegetable plate that was brought out was good, but following ones definitely had to be requested and their selection was not as full. Side dishes are good; I was a fan of all but the pickled celery (but that is personal preference). It did take a little bit of time for the staff to start our grill heating since it was kept covered when we first ordered, so we had a little of a wait before we could eat, but they were helpful about changing heat settings later on. I am not a fan of their chimichuri dipping sauce, as it tastes more like salad dressing to me - I recommend asking for a side of sesame oil dipping sauce and/or bibimbap sauce on the side. Staff was super fast and helpful with accommodating for that. Overall, a satisfying experience. :) read more

Our order came out without the protein. I brought this to their attention and they fixed and then some with lots of extras. The server said the chef had noticed this order going out missing something. I said to notice and not do anything and send it out anyway was odd. The server then got offended and haughty and said they had fixed it and to not say anything else bad about their chef. The only thing I said about the chef was the comment about being odd. Nothing else was said about her at all. So, if you have deep pockets and the chef is not preoccupied you will probably have a great meal here. So so so so good!!! Perfect date night dinner. Our favorites were the pork bulgogi, kkoki pork galbi, Hawaiian beef, and spicy samgyeopsal. The mandu were also very good. Perfect unlimited sides to snack on or pair with the meat. Our servers were the ideal amount of attentiveness. They grabbed our empty dishes as soon as they were empty but left us alone to our food and conversation otherwise. Don't be scared if you haven't had Korean bbq before. I have been wanting to try this place as we live in the area, and heard about the unique experience. My roommate and I decided to go in for lunch today, and I can honestly say it lived up and surpassed our expectations. At first thought you're confused about how the process is supposed to go. But thanks to our amazing server korina (sorry if spelled wrong) we were shown the process from start to finish.
