Teddys is my new favorite place to eat in Bayonne NJ. The food is so so fresh, inexpensive, & delicious. When you go inside the restaurant, you're teleported to Greece. The indoor decor is blue white and pink. I feel like I'm in someone's kitchen. I love the chicken gyro and the Greek lemon chicken rice soup. So authentic. I cannot wait to try more food here. Great having a place like this so close by. Good food, great location and service, and reasonable prices. We had the gyro and souvlaki. Both were moist, tasty, and plentiful, with great tzatziki sauce to throw on it, or dip while you munch. Very convenient for pickup, or you can dine in at one of their tables. This is a great place to eat at if you're in Bayonne the portions may look small, but it is jam packed with meat. I'm usually stuffed after. I would say this is the best Greek spot in Bayonne. If you're looking for a quick bite it is in front of McDonald's and there's always street parking. The people that work there are very nice and I love how they have a small little market inside where you can get legitimate Greek items such as candy, jams, preserved foods, and great olive oil. The surface is really quick as well too and you can pay after the food is ready which I think is very kind of them. I haven't tried dining in. I always order to go, but the seating area is really cute and gives you a little bit of Santorini in Bayonne. You really don't need any additional sauce, but I love the sauce and always ask for more on the side. read more

They say the customer is always right. I asked for them to put the lettuce, tomato, and onion on the side of the cheeseburger, not on it. They said that they can't do that. My #ThankYouThursday review goes to Teddy's Place since I've done take out two days in a row! This time I tried their falafel; yesterday on a pita and today in a platter and it was delish! My sister and dad are hooked on this place now. After we finish our food we all say "boy was that good." LOL! Take out is super easy. You call and place your order over the phone then you wait outside and a staff member approaches you asking for the name of your order. They'll bring out your food and that's it. I love following their social media to see items I can try. I think I just like looking at food, haha! Had their falafel gyro over the summer, and walked it home about twenty minutes, and it was still perfect. I try to eat vegetarian as much as possible nowadays, and this was my first time trying this item here. I will definitely be ordering this again. Only four stars since the first time we came in with change of ownership, the gyro meat was a little hard and cold, and not what I was familiar with in the past, but the experience with the falafel was amazing after that. read more

They lost a star just because delivery took over an hour. The food was pretty good. It was a tad cold when I received it but still tasty. The platter is filling and comes with a pita and Greek sauce on the side. The baklava was ok. I probably wouldn't order that again. But I would try another platter. read more

We have done take out a few times since the pandemic. They do a fantastic job of assisting customers with social distancing and all employees wear a mask and gloves. The food is consistently delicious (mixed platter, gyro platter, chicken breast, baklava) and amazingly priced. My friend I was visiting lives in Jersey City, New Jersey and we drove to Bayonne because Teddy's is her go-to for delicious take-out Greek food. Plus we fed 6 adults and 5 children for $75. And the food was ready by the time we drove there to pick it up. It's located on a side street and we lucked out and didn't have to double park. There were 4 other customers already inside waiting. The line moved quickly. The restaurant's storefront looked newish and inside you can see inside the kitchen and everything looked clean. I have been coming to Teddy's Place in Bayonne for years. This is my go to spot when I am in the mood for a gyro. I love their gyros. Both the lamb and beef are great, but the lamb is the way to go for sure! The meat is always fresh and the sauce they use goes great on the sandwich. They also have great falafel here, as well as great cheese steaks. Every item that I have tried, I enjoyed here. Got the combo platter. ~$15. Good if you want to try a bunch of different meats (falafel, gyro, grilled chicken, sausage). The chicken is particularly tasty. It tastes like it was grilled over coals. Im not sure if they changed the recipe for the falafels but its seems spicier than Im used to. read more

This place is a great spot to go to for an authentic Mediterranean dish. I've been here a few times now during the pandemic and I'll start by saying the staff are really respectful and very nice people. They also practice good hygiene from the looks of everything and I feel like I'm getting a clean meal just from the presentation alone. Now, the food. The food is great! I always get the gyro platter with fries and they never mess it up. If you get take out, keep in mind, the fries probably won't be crunchy because they will get moist in the container. They are nicely cooked when you eat it right away. The only thing I'd add if I was picky is maybe a sauce to add on the salad, something light but not to heavy. Overall, great place, clean, but a little pricey. But hey, you get what you pay for! read more

Ordered a gyro & chicken platter which was overpriced which I could've lived with if it was good but it was horrible. The gyro had little flavor and half of the chicken pieces were incredibly rubbery where I had to spit it out. The chicken pieces that weren't rubbery were pretty bland as well. I upgraded to the Athenian fries which were soggy and pretty much the sauce and feta didn't do anything for me (not sure it was feta since the cheese didn't have much flavor). I also ordered the chicken Avgolemono soup which was so so at best. My wife ordered a falafel in a pita which she said was okay but at almost $10 it should be good. This was actually my second time ordering from there which I actually didn't realize when I called in my order since I remember not having a good experience the first time. I'm going to move on and find a better place for my Mediterranean fixes. read more

My kids and I have been wanting to try this place. Recently we wanted something filling and thought of Teddy's. We ordered over the phone and the young lady (I think Amanda) who took our order was super sweet, patient and helpful. We ordered the Falafel side dish with hummus and pita, chicken skewer platter, The Arizona Turkey Burger and lemon chicken rice soup. Let me just say that we ate with all sorts of mmm and mmm's. I don't know if I was just very hungry or what but I was dancing in the kitchen while I was eating. Sooo yummy. Falafels can be questionable as so many places make it differently but these falafels were perfect. I can't wait to order from them again. The only thing we did not like was the lemon chicken rice soup. They sell it in a plastic container which is refrigerated and reheated upon order. The rice was very mushy almost totally dissolved into the broth, and the soup tasted like raw chicken all the way through. Not just the chicken but the broth and all. The chicken was cooked, but eating this was really tough to swallow. Worst to be reminded that you are eating something that once lived. Ewww, It's unfortunate as I hate throwing food away but we threw it away, so that says how distasteful it was. Now I wonder how long they keep refrigerated before selling. Hopefully they will recreate their recipe and maybe make the soup daily. read more

We were so excited when Teddy's Place NJ reopened but have had too many leftovers and groceries to eat through. Finally cleared our fridge and got to order the Family Meal a few nights ago. The amount of food was incredible and so delicious! We got the meal # 5 and asked them to deliver it. Even though they said it might take an hour, our food arrived piping hot in just about 30 mins! This meal is for 4-6 people apparently. But there's so much food that I think it would feed 6 people and you'd still have leftovers. We ordered this meal for 2.5 people because I like having delicious leftovers for the next few days and getting a variety of the meats. The only thing I regret is not remembering to order pita breads and extra desserts! read more

Where to start... Cant believe we havent tried this place yet! Searched yelp for greek food & this has the highest rating in Bayonne. We wanted food for 8 people and the boss helped us out with what to choose & gave us SUCH A GREAT DEAL. He even gave us a sample of the meat while we were deciding which ones to order. Great little take-out place in Bayonne. We stopped in the other day for gyros and fries. My daughter loves the grilled chicken gyro, while the husband and I opt for the lamb. Their Greek fries are really good, too. We each had a special request with our orders (no onions for me or the kid, fried onions for the husband) and everything was served perfectly. We decided to stay rather than take out, and they do have a small number of tables. The staff brought everything to us and treated us very well. If you have room for dessert, try the baklava.
