Attended a wake at funeral parlor near here and ended up going with a big crowd. I can't say enough on the exceptional service and caring the fava team gave our group knowing we were sad and upset. They made suggestions that we could eat family style and even though we didn't feel like eating we all ended up enjoying the trays of pita with chicken and beef skewers , humus, mezze along with Greek salad and some crispy thin crust pizza . All were delicious . It was followed up by desserts including a bavklava cake and tiramisu cake and crispy zepploles with chocolate dipping sauce. They are truly caring people at Fava who care about fresh ingredients, cooked perfectly and presented in such a way we wanted to try everything. I'm not usually someone who leaves reviews, but this experience was pretty bad. I placed a pickup order and showed up at the time it said it would be ready, but there were already a bunch of people waiting, including someone with a catering order that was delayed. After I checked in, they told me it would be another 20 minutes and gave me a gift card, which felt a little odd. As I waited, it became clear things were really off. People were waiting a long time, orders were coming out wrong, and customers kept asking for updates with no real answers. You could also see staff going back and forth with the kitchen, which didn't help. I ended up waiting almost an hour and just left because it didn't seem like my food was coming anytime soon. In that whole time, I barely saw anyone actually get their order, and everyone looked frustrated. I get that it was Mother's Day, but the place wasn't even that crowded, maybe 15 people. We sat by the kitchen and saw all the amazing food coming out. My grilled chicken Greek salad was perfect - juicy chicken, feta on top. Best Greek salad ever! It beat my go-to spot in Virginia Beach. We decided on Greek tonight, toss of the dice, and here we landed. Wow, just wow. We met our host and bartender, Demetri, at the door, and our server Nino, both very attentive. We are so very impressed. What a quaint little restaurant. Music was great. We ordered froze 16, and honey gin martini and some appetizers, Lemon Ricotta pistachio special and hot honey feta spread. This was so good it could have been its own meal. But we didn't stop there. Got some more spreads to try and entrées. My entrées spinach pie and my husband's chicken soulvaki. This spot is nearby to me, so I decided to check it out. We decided to start off with the shrimp ajillo as an appetizer. It was a little spicy and came with a side of pita bread to dip in the sauce the shrimp came with. It was delicious! For an entree, I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter, and my boyfriend ordered the chimichurri steak panini. The souvlaki platter portion size was definitely enough for two meals for me. It came with a side salad, a spread (I got the spicy feta which I highly recommend), and an option of Greek fries or grilled vegetables. I have celiac disease, so I went with the grilled vegetables option and they were very good (red peppers, zucchini, and eggplant). I love the food here, and often order delivery. Just a warm suggestion swap out the iceberg lettuce for romaine (so the dressing permeates nicely). I ordered the souvlaki platter to go, but to my surprise, the salad was made with iceberg. For a $30 price tag, iceberg isn't worth it. read more

We had reservations for 3 people at 4.00 o'clock on mother's day. We walked in the place was empty except for 3 tables that where eating their main course. We asked to sit near the window where there were tables vacant. They said we're going to be very busy later...? They took a long time to check up on us and get us started and when they came back with our drinks they were served in dirty glasses and when we asked for new ones they kept messing up our order. Maybe its because it was a Tuesday night, but I doubt it. The heat was not working and it was bitterly cold. There was no bourbon at the bar even though several of the "specialty" cocktails are bourbon-based. The mussels in the paella had no meat in them. The ladies' room was completely out of toilet paper (and no, there were no paper towels). When the wait staff was informed, they took a half used roll from the mens' room which suggests there was no extra toilet paper. They were out of tea and had no decaf coffee. Went there for lunch today & everything was delicious! I started off with a cucumber spritz to refresh the palate lol. We shared the salad with apples, cranberries, walnuts & balsamic dressing and the Tuscan panini with a side of the Greek French fries! We also had the avocado spread & a kids pizza. We came here for a friend's 50th bday and to our surprise, place was wonderful. Food was amazing and the service was great. We were pleasantly surprised at the ambiance, service and food was amazing. Loved the food, was top notch, by far the best food I've had in a long time. They even had a photo zone to take wonderful pics with the flower decor. It was such a quaint, small place, not too crowded and just a wonderful experience. To be honest, I was not expecting much since it was in S.I but we all had a fantastic time and food exceeded our expectation. Well me and my wife decided on Fava for our date night, we walked in and the restaurant felt very welcoming. The staff was very friendly, our server Nino was very genuine and well spoken, he recommended the baked feta to share which can i say absolutely delicious! First , our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. But the star of the show was definitely the food. Can't comment on the drinks because I'm 9 months pregnant. We started off with the spinach pie - my all time favorite Greek dish and it was delicate , crispy & flavorful. Then we had the shrimp alijo , again very flavorful and robust and not overly pungent like some places. I had chose the shrimp skewers with grilled vegetables and Greek salad with a choice of a spread. I really liked it , straight forward and really delicious and I chose the fava dip and it was great almost tasted like a pistachio pesto . My husband got the steak skewers and that was marinated very well and not dry at all. We also had our friend stop in and he got the pasta dish ( money bag pasta) looked amazing . No dessert for the night . I also think it's worth mentioning the owner Chris , we had a 2 year old and he was nice as can be .
