    Giant Fry Bread!
    Shelby I.

A must try when in Skagway! I've heard so many good things about this place when doing research about things to do on an Alaska cruise. This did not disappoint. The line is pretty long but I promise it goes super fast considering they only sell 1 thing. While in line we made friends with the person in back of us in line who was on the same cruise as us. Once at the front, we got 1 giant fry bread covered in cinnamon and sugar for $8. My daughter noticed a bunch of ducks displayed behind the cash register and asked if she could have one. As I was telling her no, the cashier pulled out a duck and asked if she could give it to her. She was so happy! It made her whole day. (If you didn't know, finding ducks on cruise ships is a big thing!) The fry bread was delicious! I love that they're made to order so you know it's going to be fresh! It kind of tasted like a cinnamon bagel chip like the ones you can get in Las Vegas! (IYKYK!) But, it was a bit thicker. It was super messy with crumbs and cinnamon sugar going everywhere. You definitely have to eat standing up. Overall, it was a nice, shareable snack while walking around the town.

Fried dough coated in sugar. You really can't go wrong! On the sweeter side for me, next time I might ask for just one coating of sugar. It was a loooong wait when we went in the morning, not worth it if the line stretches out to the other side. Come back in the afternoon when a cruise ship or 2 have left or everyone is out on their excursions!

We visited Klondike Doughboy to get a quick snack. They specialize in deep-fried, cinnamon sugar-coated pieces of chewy dough about 10 inches in diameter. We waited a few minutes for ours and it was scrumptious because it was warm and fresh! The airy texture was similar to this Chinese fried donut. In addition to the doughboys, their store carried a lot of snacks and food-related souvenirs. We also got a snow cone (can't go wrong with that, right?) even though it was cold and raining outside. And, we also bought a couple of jars of salmon to take home. The staff were very helpful and friendly!

Quick service and piping hot. Great for a snack walking around town. Usually a line to get one but worth it.

This well known Alaskan treasure is a small little shop in downtown Skagway. The well known doughboy is definitely worth it. It's tasty and is one of those things you have to try if you're in the area. It's $8 and is a little bit more priced than what it may be but it's definitely worth it to get it. Service was quick and efficient to get through the line. If you are in the area, probably for an Alaskan cruise, I would definitely give this a recommendation to try.

Delicious treat. $8.00 a piece. Always packed; always a line outside. The wait isnt as bad as it looks because there are two people frying, one cashier, and one doing the sugar. Is the price too much? Yes. BUT it's good to support local.

The line was very long, but it went by quickly. They sell their famous fry bread. It is a delicious cinnamon sugar concoction. The bread is big and can be shared. It comes out fresh from the fryer and that's the best way to eat it. For the price point, I thought it was great. Nine dollar dessert shared by four. The store sells other Alaskan items, but I don't know how you would buy them since the line is always long at the register. I don't know how you could go in there and browse while waiting in line unless someone else is holding your spot. They also have snow cones and those were popular as well. The staff was friendly

My family and I stopped here while in Skagway on an Alaskan cruise and I would highly recommend! The fry bread is delicious and freshly made right in front of you. The employees were also very friendly. There's a reason this place is so popular!!

Not sure what possessed me to buy fried dough but I smelled it from blocks away. It's made fresh and sprinkled with sugar. It's highly addicting and delicious. 10/10 would recommend.

Worth the wait! The fry bread was delicious. If you're in the area give the Fry Bread a try!!!

I've had Fry Bread before but one that was plain and served with beans. This was more of a dessert, closer to funnel cake flavor. The edges were crisp and it is big enough to be shared among 2 adults

I wish they had different flavor toppings besides sugar. Nothing spectacular, but it was good.

So glad we stopped and shared a fry bread while in town. The line was long, but don't let that detour you. It moved quickly.

The fry bread is both soft and crunchy, depending on where you bite, but both textures are enjoyable.

It was a little after 1 and there were several cruise ships docked, so the lobby was quite full. When I walked up to the podium, the host explained our options: go to the pub for drinks and a limited menu, or wait 15-30 minutes for a table upstairs with the full menu. We weren't in a hurry and wanted all the options, so we decided to wait for a table. It was about 20 minutes before the host called us. After being seated and checking out the menu, I chose a mug of the house-brewed root beer along with a Alaskan Sandwich, subbing the fries for a side salad. My wife also ordered the root beer, but with a Salmon Sandwich with a cup of soup instead. We also shared a whole Big Pickle! First, the root beer was very refreshing. Not super sweet, but still flavorful. And my sandwich was very delicious! The piece of Alaskan Greenling was so big, it was hanging over the bun. With the side salad, it was just the right amount of food, but I didn't feel too stuffed. My wife enjoyed her sandwich and loved the cup of beer cheese soup. And the big pickle offered a good crunch and contrast to our sandwiches. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. We did pass on dessert, but would try it if we came back to Alaska. The only weird thing is that there was no wifi available, and the cell signal was non-existent. We had to *gasp* talk to each other!
