So I had my first time experiencing Kneaders today and it was awesome!! My cashier Carson was really good at guiding me through the menu and had an answer for every question I asked. My husband and I are eternal optimists. Maybe that's why we keep giving Kneaders a chance. It used to be a great place to go for a healthy and quick meal, but the food quality has tanked in the last year, along with the service. You do still get to pay their high prices, but you surely no longer get the quality they once offered for that premium. We always have missing items from our order, so my husband now unpacks the bag before leaving. He has saved us often by doing this, even though the staff doesn't appreciate him doing their job for them. Here's a thought: Maybe they should do it then, and double-check that the order is correct? To add insult to injury, they expect to be tipped if you order online, which is fine since we would tip anyway, but pre-tipping doesn't seem to get our orders correct. They also substitute things without asking or telling you, but often you don't even get a substitute--they just leave the item off the sandwich or salads or out of the order. When we order online we have already paid for the items, so leaving them out without refunding is theft and fraud. I paid for the items, and even if they run out, they still have to offer a substitute or refund, which they won't unless you complain. I wonder now if they do this on purpose. Maybe they save a boatload each year by "forgetting" to give food but still reaping the money for it. It happens too regularly to be be an accident or mere forgetfulness. The food itself no longer tastes fresh, portions have shrunk and prices have risen. We recently had a turkey sandwich where they forgot the turkey. Let me say that again: they put NO turkey on the turkey sandwich, but they did box it up and send it on home with us. The kicker today was because the cinnamon rolls have a plastic aftertaste. What on earth do they do to make them taste like that! This is no longer the Kneaders of old, and we have finally learned our lesson. No more chances, we are done and we very sincerely hope everyone else will think twice before going here unless you like to gamble. read more

The food is a grade above average, but the poor service keeps me from coming back. My husband braved a Saturday morning visit with our daughter and he kept asking for 1 refill of the French toast and he was completely ignored by 3 different employees. When he finally got someone's attention, they gave him an attitude and made him wait a solid 15 minutes for his one piece refill. Granted, a refill isn't that big of a deal. It's a little difficult at times to find parking in this place. The staff is relatively friendly, a few bad apples, though. It's fairly clean, although there's no real ambiance so to speak. The wood bench chairs are rather uncomfortable. Their hours are convenient. Overall, this place is mediocre. The reason it's earned a two star rating from me is the food. It's nothing to write home about, but it is poor enough for me to leave a review here. Their selections aren't so varied, and in spite of their tasty appearance in the pastry case, I've found their bakery goods to be bland and often stale. The ones today we could bang on table. I called and hoped to hear something that would change our mind about not going back. That did not happen. I want to start by saying I am a weekly customer to Kneaders and have always enjoyed their food and service. This morning I went in at 9:30 with my husband and son. We ordered two orders of the all you can eat French toast meals. Upon being done eating our first order, we asked for a refill. The gentlemen said, "Sure," and took my name. After 20 min. of waiting, I went to ask about our refill. A young lady with curly hair and glasses said one of her fellow employees (and pointed to her)were bringing it out right now and walked away. The employee brought out a French toast order but gave it to another customer. (I do not know if that was suppose to be my order or not.) I waited at the front for another 3 min. and the drive through employee came over and asked if he could help me. I explained I was waiting on my refill and he informed me that they had run out and it would be some time before they made and cut the orders. I told the gentleman that I understood it was a Saturday, but we had already been waiting 20 min. He was kind and apologetic. I asked to speak to a manager and explained the situation. She offered me a free pastry, but I told her I did not want a free pastry, I wanted to be reimbursed for one of the two orders we received. I told he I could no longer wait as my son was crying and ready to go. She said she was not willing to do that, all she could offer me was a pastry. She was passive about the situation and though she did not blatantly say it, she seemed not to care. I am very dissatisfied in how this situation was handled, and upset. I would like to be reimbursed, and the "manager" and "young lady" need to be retrained on customer service. read more

I've been here twice since moving to East Mesa. I've tried a breakfast croissant and one of their fruit tarts. So delicious! The inside is very comfortable and clean, and the people who work here are very friendly. I'm so glad we found this place and I can see coming back here more. read more

And I can see the food ready no one takes the time to put it in the bag. Very clean restaurant! For east Mesa and the normal choices out here this was a great first experience coming to this restaurant. Their bread quality was very fresh, all the other ingredients were top notch as well. I had a turkey club with avocado and it came out perfectly presented. I split a whole sandwich with my husband and they brought out a 2nd plate with the sandwich split in half for us. They bring the food to you. They fresh brew their iced tea. My husband and I decide to check out Kneaders for breakfast this morning and we both went with the French toast which was a great decision. It was super flavorful and while the bread probably could have soaked in the custard longer, topped with the caramel syrup and strawberries and cream it was amazing. Also, it's all you can eat (which for us ended up just being one plate because we were stuffed). Kneaders has been our go-to when we want to be healthy but don't feel like cooking - their Southwest BBQ chicken salad is my all time favorite and a huge portion for under 700 calories! There was one little slice of meat on my pastrami sandwich. Chicken Noodle soup had hardly any chicken or noodles was basically broth. Prices were very high for what you get. Cafe Zupa is a much better value! read more

My favorite classic sandwich is the turkey. This is fresh off the bone turkey. The portion size is large. It's delicious! I find it hard to walk past the bakery display case. I've only had one sandwich so far and it was good, well except for the tomato ( end piece yellowish and mushy) no big deal. I will be back to try other things. My son loves the food, but he has the same complaint .....the service. They are new, I understand, but why open if your staff isn't ready. They have other stores they could have trained in before throwing them to the lions. Right in the middle of snowbird season in Dysfunction junction. My son has been there 4 times, he uses the drive-in. He says it takes forever and they didn't get the orders right 4 out of 4 times. Their delivery system needs work, too. You order, find a seat and soon a server comes wandering thru the place calling your name. One poor little girl came by 3 times, she looked very embarrassed. When I realized what was going on, I told her our name, And although it was very busy, she skipped us until she had our food. They all just look flustered. I will try them again, because like I said, the sandwich I had was ok and their deserts look o so good. I may wait awhile until after snowbird season or they get better a little more experience under their belts, which ever comes first. The thing that turns me off on them the most is that they didn't care enough about their employees to train them properly before opening and making them all look like idiots. Awful food. The biggest problem I have with Kneaders is that they claim everything is "so fresh" and everything I have tried (& other reviews attest) has been obviously frozen. The sandwiches are severely lacking any flavor whatsoever, it's more like bland hospital food. Also, when I posted a picture of their terrible chocolate pie on their Facebook page they immediately took it down. Not very honorable. This establishment is a very good alternative to Panara's Bread or Paradise Bakery. The "Club" sandwich entry is excellent and as tasty a flavor meld as any I've experimented with in years (yum)!!! I love Kneaders. The food is AMAZING! The desserts are AMAZING! It can get busy so if you are going during a rush hour, please allot yourself some time. Inside is bright and open. It's seat yourself but you can go inside or outside. The signal butte location is closest to my house but unfortunately it's not my favorite. Every time I have gone to this location my order is usually messed up and nobody cares. Things like forgetting dressing on my salad and getting irritated when I ask for salad dressing, or changing the bread without asking and saying they are out of the one you want; after specifically telling you they have it when you order and pay, and then expecting you to like the bread they chose for you in lieu of other options. I typically don't have this problem for other locations and easily rate other locations 4-5 stars. read more

I love the bakery part of this place but I am really sad that when I order their yummy chicken salad croissant it is very hard to find the chicken salad. We got breakfast here because my nephew says he likes it better than Starbucks. In the end we were disappointed. My sister got a Caffè latte and instead got an iced coffee. The omelettes are incredibly overpriced for how little food you actually get. The breakfast sandwiches we got were good, though they skimped on the bacon on my sister's sandwich. Buy we could've gone to Starbucks and gotten a cheaper sandwich that wouldn't fall apart. The frozen hot chocolate was good though. Very cocoa-y. I probably wouldn't go here again though. read more
