Horrible venue As you walk a moldy, rotting odor greets you as you walk on the sticky bar floor to get a drink. The only wine the knitting factory carried on Saturday night was Chardonnay out of a box. The bartender and staff were courteous, Sammy Eubanks and the other two bands were great! However, the knitting factory venue was dirty, smelly, and the bathrooms were gross. read more

Cool place to see a show: good sound and elevated stage and bar areas mean that those on the floor and in the back both have a view. Drinks are overpriced (of course), but not as bad as at larger venues. The no re-entry policy was kind of a bummer; just plan ahead for that and don't go inside until you're ready to stay till the end. read more

This is the worst venue I have been in. I have been here three times before and it just gets worse. We made reservations at the restaurant prior to the show. When you do this you usually get in to the show first before the general public. Not this time. So we sat for two hours in the resteraunt and purchased horrible food, that was way over priced, for nothing. They have only bar stools sitting in front of the railings and that's it. No tables no extra seating. So by the time we got in all seats were taken by general public. Also it was so hot it the venue we had to leave early. They should have air conditioning or fans at least going. Very disappointed in all the money we spent to see a band we really liked. Horrible horrible experience. read more

Incredibly rude, untrained security. I will never go back due to their lack of professionalism and aggressive demeanors. I advise anyone that attends a concert here to be careful if you are approached by security. It is dirty, has outrageously high prices and little room to move because they pack the place as full as they can. With the constant issues and major problems, I'd like to see this venue closed down. read more

This is a great place to see a concert in Spokane. I've been to this venue many times before and the staff was not friendly and the security guards were rude. During a recent visit the staff was VERY friendly and the security guards were nice and helpful. I will definitely be back. I only left 4 stars because there is no re-entry. The only concert I attended here I couldn't see anything. The bar was packed and overflowing and I was skipped over a few different times by the bartender even standing on my tip toes. The openers opened for forever and finally the talent showed up and played for 15 minutes. I just want to be at a venue where I can see and where the show is worth seeing. Last night was my first visit to the Knitting Factory and it was a high quality experience due to the professionalism of all the staff there (that I saw). I am disabled and use a walker. At every turn they were gracious about assisting me. I thought the sound was great, and for me, being right up in front made me quite happy. I do wish one could drink beer on the floor.. The Bartlett is all ages and doesn't segregate people like that, I am fairly new to Spokane, and I was pleasantly impressed by the Knitting Factory. I was prepared not to like it because it is a chain. But I was completely won over. One thing I have observed since I have been here in Spokane is that a lot of bands go through here on I 90 headed West. So the area is lucky to have this good sized venue to snag these touring artists. It is a wonderful thing for an area to have a variety of venue options making it more likely to attract bands and musicians of all levels. read more

Well let's see here, I came to see a group called the flatbush zombies whom heavily support marijuana usage, I was in a legal state, where it's legal to smoke marijuana, obviously not in public, but let's not forget were at a hip-hop concert on the national stoner holiday with a group playing that heavily supports and preaches marijuana use and activily smoking at the show. Everythings going great, the artist starts mentionioning marijuana, then every one in the square mile radius starts smoking, including myself, and within minutes I feel someone grab my shoulder very aggressively, and drag me outside and basically told me to get out. No warning, nothing. What a nice guy right? His bouncer buddy obviously felt bad and didn't want to kick me out but bouncer number 2 felt like a real cool dude that night and told me to take a hike. Leaving me stranded in spokane for a good hour. What a waste of my effing time. The 10 minutes of the show were good, didn't get to see flatbush zombies or really any of the concert. Probably won't ever come again. One star for the way this situation was handled, won't be seeing me again! read more

Recently went to a venue here and got to meet a couple of the bands. My husband and I have been here a couple times and love how it's small enough to be close to the band without being super crowded. Small venues are usually the best for concerts. The first time I went I waited in line but the next time I made reservations at the restaurant so I could get in early without getting caught in the crowd. This made the experience so much better and I highly recommend you go that route. Although there is not a age restriction its best to be 21 or over so you can sit in the bar otherwise it is standing only and you may be stuck in the mosh pit. I learned the hard way the first time I went with my 14 year old. Somehow we were lucky and survived the body slams and kicks to the heads but I won't take the chance of bringing him there again.....you still get a great view from the bar...I did mention small venues are best for concerts right? read more

They literally cleared an area in front of me and were inedible. I told the waitress and she was like "they are kind of our thing". Honestly, we had a good time at the Knitting Factory. The crowd there was definitely your "rave-bro and rave-ho" types, but I guess that's what you get for going to an ODESZA concert. The 19-year-olds in sequined rainbow underwear and ganja-printed thigh-highs aside, the show was fun, the venue was full but not uncomfortably packed, and we got in without a line or any hassle. There was a LOT of e-cigging and vaping going on (and not all of it was tobacco) , so beware if that sort of thing bothers you. I would not recommend drinking here - the drinks are ridiculously overpriced. Pre-funk, hold your shit together, and have fun. read more

This is a great place to go for an intimate concert. I got there early enough to secure a space right up against the stage. It was an awesome experience. I was surprised how nice everyone was being on the floor. No one was pushing or shoving. Made for a nice concert experience. The room capacity is just over 1200 so there really isn't a bad place to be in the house. Someone I was with was disappointed at the lack of seating near the bar area but I didn't have a problem with it. read more

Drinks are way overpriced, they don't let you leave during the show and the acoustics are usually so bad that you cant hear the band very well at all, i don't know if its the building or if the sound guy just sucks but i really hate this place, but i still end up going because its often the only place to see the bands i like, so i keep coming back like a crack addict. read more

Good venue to catch a concert. Expect to stand up and to sweat your a** off. I don't think there was any ventilation at this place. $35 for 2 double Gin and Tonics? Maybe not. Tickets were $30 each so that wasn't bad. Be prepared to stand in line for a while. read more

This was only my second time watching a show here....there were a lot of things I like and a couple things I didn't like so much.. I loved that they had a bar, I loved loved that the security was so involved as soon as someone got out of control they didn't hesitate to drag their asses out of there, I love the location of the venue I can pay a 10$ fee across the street for 10 hours of parking and so many great breweries and restaurants are within walking distance to kill time before the show! The sound was pretty good and we all around had a really great time.. now I didn't like that a single small ass beer was $7.50 and I felt like maybe they sell to many tickets for shows it's a pretty small venue and boy do they jam pack people in there but a good experience and would go watch a show there again! read more

This place had great potential. Unfortunately we're not used to concert venues that DO NOT ALLOW alcohol on the floor. And I've been to hundreds of concerts, big and small. I mean, I understand Washington is a terrible state but come on, you all need to catch up to the majority of the United States on this, haha. You can only drink in at the bar area at the Knitting Factory. That's pretty sad when you're at a metal concert, or any concert for that matter. They have the best security staff possible. But the sound people have issues. Sitting in the bar I cannot understand a word the singer is saying because they have the instruments so loud it eliminates the vocals. I've seen many concerts here. I've complained to their Facebook page, email address online and no one seems to care. My favorite all time ban sounds like 15year olds in a garage with mom's washer and dryer running. I've had much more fun at the A Club and I'm guessing they pay comparable but you'll actually enjoy the show. FYI I'm here at this moment disappointed. read more

The worst managed venue for live music I have ever been in, and I've been going to club shows since the seventies. The usher would do nothing about the people saving seats and the younger crowd was just obnoxious trying to start fights and push people around right in front of the security people. I think everyone from the manager to the bartenders should be fired. I ate at their restaurant and bought my tickets early and still got pushed around by rude millennials. You go to a show and expect something in return for you money. This place is like the worst dive bar in the country with security indifferent to customer safety or concern for customer well being. If you want to go fight or get stabbed this is your spot. read more

I have always been a big fan of Brandy Carlile. I had never been to the Knit, but expected far better than I experienced. First of all, the time spent in the bar waiting to get into the venue first was ridiculous. 6.00 beers and no place to sit. However, the garlic fries were awesome. The obnoxious tweens gave me a headache. We entered the venue after what seemed like hours of hell consuming overpriced drinks in the bar next door - dealing with drunken assholes yelling - the website said we needed to camp out there in order to even have a chance at a seat. The rest is standing room only. If you do not do this there are no places to sit, at all - that stinks. Consequently, we grabbed a table, after the confusing process of being let in (like sheep - the staff is unorganized) to the concert area. The bar stools were hard wood and the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in. We had the wonderful joy of having a couple stand right in front of our table the whole show - how fucking rude! Others did it too. Had I known it was like this, I would have scooted the table up so that nobody could get in front of us. The whole concert was miserable because of this. We could not see the show at all. These two bastards were not even watching the show - they spent their time talking, playing grab ass, and using their lousy cell phones. You guys know who you are - FUCK YOU! I got so pissed off; I came close to knocking these fuckers on their asses. I did not want to get myself into trouble, so I refrained. I will never, ever, go back to this shithole. The staff consisted of rude assholes as well. The young drunks on training wheels and even the middle aged (ought to know better) party animals were behaving very badly. Nobody was there to see a concert! This experience was so damn bad, I do not even listen to Brandy anymore. I do not recommend this place to anyone at all. Save yourself the trouble and scratch this one off your list! read more

This is an establishment that appears to harbor a deep loathing for their customers and aren't shy about showing it. Their customer service is about as good as that of a burnt out US postal worker who is one day from retirement and ran out of Prozac. First of all when I went with a large group of friends the ticket window opened 45 frickin' minutes late, even though we had called ahead of time and were assured the ticket window would be open at 6. It did not open until nearly 6:45. We were offered no explanation and no apology. A snide security guard told us we would be fine when people started to complain. Next the drinks were insanely over-priced and shitty. Fine, whatever. I kind of expect that for those type of venues. The thing that got me was the fact that it was balls hot. I mean seriously, I felt like I was in a jock strap during a football summer training session. On top of this, they don't let you outside!! Oh did I mention they don't have a coat check? Yeah, you can either hold it and sweat or go without one and freeze on the way back and forth to your car. At every turn The Knitting Factory gives a giant middle finger to their customers. There's not really any seating so you stand for hours with swamp a$$ while getting a contact buzz from the collective stench of everyone's BO. If The Knitting Factory could just have people empty the contents of their wallets into a bin and then get the f#$@ out, I think they would much prefer that to having to actually interact with the public. The Factory is a great for smaller shows. 1500 capacity doesn't seem like much until your shoulder to shoulder, stomach to back on the floor. Which is a downside for anyone not 21 years old. A plus to the venue is there aren't stupid venue rules during shows. They allow camera unless the band says other ways, and for heavy metal shows there are no restrictions. They are most of the time good with crowd surfers and people in the pit. But all in all it's a good venue, definatly prefer the original venue name to the current one. read more

Went for the 1st time last night with free tickets to "The Next Big Thing" , a concert featuring new country singers. All artists were great, they all talked about their Faith in God, which was refreshing. I looked on the website for Knitting Factory before going-it didn't have any info about their venue-so here is some info for 1st time patrons like me... Be prepared to do A LOT of standing. They are a "family-friendly" venue. Get there early to get in line. The concert started at 7:00-we were about 10th in line when we arrived at 4:45. Waited outside in the rain until they opened the outer door at 5:45. We waited inside til 6:40 & with all the people who "cut in"-we were about the 35th people in line. Security announced there was "no furniture" inside. When they finally let us in the venue-it was a mad frenzy of people pushing,cutting & running into the venue. We ended up running up the stairs & grabbed 2 bar stools against the rail because that was the only place where we immediately saw open seats. Little did we know-we were sitting in the "kid-zone" where I found out later on that you can't have alcohol there as I was stopped trying to get back to my seat with my drink. No wonder I saw an occasional waitress delivering drinks to people below. I don't think they serve any food, but wouldn't know due to no communication by the venue on anything.I had parents holding their kids above me from behind, trying to let them see(who were pushing against me) You should get reservations at the District Bar before the show-because they let their patrons into the venue BEFORE the people who stand in line for hours. Knitting Factory is very unorganized, uninformative, & they need to put up a fence for the line & supervise the waiting line to prevent cutters. Other than that-the music & sound were great! read more

Pretty good venue, I'd say the staff is legit, follow the rules and there shouldn't be any trouble. Drinks are WAY WAY Spendy but there are several places around to pre funk at. They offer a wide variety of bands and the concert is always great. It's a little on the small side but I guess it just depends on whose playing for how packed it is. read more

I've been in many venues watching everything from The Rolling Stones to Pink Floyd to Nickleback. The George Thorogood show about 3-4 years ago is one I will always remember. What a great venue to see him. Also have seen Hells Belles a couple times here. Excellent everytime. We ate in the restaurant before the show and got to go in early. I drove over from Bellingham to see the Smashing Pumpkins on Sept 14th. I think the staff at the venue are GREAT. My complaint is that it is down right unsafe medically to have a venue with tempertures between 100-125 degrees!!!!! I don't care if prima donna Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins requested/demanded this.......he can go *&^% himself!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And oh by the way....my review of the Smashing Pumpkins.....let's just say I am NO LONGER a fan of theirs. read more

First time here for a concert. Came for the next big thing with love and theft. Be sure you get here super early and even eat at there restaurant first so you get first dibs on a table for event. Concert was awsome and i love the fact that you are up close and personal with the bands. Definitely show up early tho. read more

Want to experience being treated like cattle for a chance to possibly witness good entertainment? Well, I'm sorry, this place doesn't offer service that good. Doors open to get in fifteen minutes later then advertised, you're shoved into narrow hall with everyone else and no order what-so-ever. Doesn't matter how early you showed up, there's no line at that point. The whole hall smells like weed and sweat. At that point you're waiting another half an hour for the second doors to open, and when they finally do it's a everyone pushing and shoving all at once while the security is screaming for everyone to walk and be patient. Finally you get in and you're separted into several lines and the security is still yelling. Stupid us, we ask a reasonable question, are minors allowed upstairs, and the guy we ask glares and yells no, spit flying off his lip. Already what you paid for has been spent on paying rude people with no place in customer service. Then FINALLY after nearly an hour of all of this, the actual concert hall is noticeably way too small for the audience it's providing for. God forbid you be younger than twentyone. There's no place you're allowed to be except for the floor! I'm height impaired, but I paid to see this concert. What am I supposed to do? Try standing on the stairs, oh-no, can't do that. Try standing away from the floor on the wall, nope. Only place is on the floor with a sea of over crowded moshing young adults. My anxiety was already through the roof. I actually saw these people force a lady with three kids no older than five to go into the pit. That has the potential for reckless endangerment, but who cares, right? The knitting factory has already has a number of law suits on their record. In the end we left without even seeing the band we paid to see, with no refund mind you. This wasn't even the first time we've personally had problems with this place! My boyfriend accidentally stepped too far into the adults area in an attempt to ask where the bathroom was and they kicked him out without question, again without a refund. We thought maybe it was just that particular guy who was so incredibly rude, considering he later got a written apology for it, but we go again and we're spit on and still treated like we didn't have a right to be there. Don't expect a good time at this place. The band's not worth the quality of service provided. I anticipate for the day this horrible concert venue is shut down for good. read more

The music is good and perhaps that's why they get away with charging 6 dollars a glass for beer. Way over priced next time I'm sticking to just water. As for the food. I got two orders of fries to share with my table. The orders were large enough for 4 people and were great. They took forever to get though we were sitting at a side table and the server seemed more interested in serving the first and second seating areas. I finally had to get up leave my table and the show to track down the server. When I did get a hold of her she checked her pos and promptly informed me that she had forgotten to put the order into the back. Which I knew was a lie. I've worked those kinds of tills before. I paid upfront with my card meaning the system would have automatically sent the order to the kitchen. She once again rang me up and wanted me to pay. I showed her my ticket saying I already had. She "comped" the order. It then took another 20 minutes to get my food. Total ticket time for 2 baskets of fries. 65 minutes. Eat before you arrive. read more
