Pretty decent venue for a close and person experience. I saw Iration here and loved being down in the crowd, dancing along to the music. Can be a bit tough to get a drink as you would expect, but if you can manage a little wait, or actually focus on the concert, you should be fine. I have also seen OAR and Gavin Degraw here. Pretty decent acts for Spokane and good size to make it feel packed. Nothing worse than a venue that is too large for the band. Want to experience being treated like cattle for a chance to possibly witness good entertainment? Well, I'm sorry, this place doesn't offer service that good. Doors open to get in fifteen minutes later then advertised, you're shoved into narrow hall with everyone else and no order what-so-ever. Doesn't matter how early you showed up, there's no line at that point. The whole hall smells like weed and sweat. At that point you're waiting another half an hour for the second doors to open, and when they finally do it's a everyone pushing and shoving all at once while the security is screaming for everyone to walk and be patient. Finally you get in and you're separted into several lines and the security is still yelling. Stupid us, we ask a reasonable question, are minors allowed upstairs, and the guy we ask glares and yells no, spit flying off his lip. Already what you paid for has been spent on paying rude people with no place in customer service. Then FINALLY after nearly an hour of all of this, the actual concert hall is noticeably way too small for the audience it's providing for. God forbid you be younger than twentyone. There's no place you're allowed to be except for the floor! I'm height impaired, but I paid to see this concert. What am I supposed to do? Try standing on the stairs, oh-no, can't do that. Try standing away from the floor on the wall, nope. Only place is on the floor with a sea of over crowded moshing young adults. My anxiety was already through the roof. I actually saw these people force a lady with three kids no older than five to go into the pit. That has the potential for reckless endangerment, but who cares, right? The knitting factory has already has a number of law suits on their record. In the end we left without even seeing the band we paid to see, with no refund mind you. This wasn't even the first time we've personally had problems with this place! My boyfriend accidentally stepped too far into the adults area in an attempt to ask where the bathroom was and they kicked him out without question, again without a refund. We thought maybe it was just that particular guy who was so incredibly rude, considering he later got a written apology for it, but we go again and we're spit on and still treated like we didn't have a right to be there. Don't expect a good time at this place. The band's not worth the quality of service provided. I anticipate for the day this horrible concert venue is shut down for good. read more

Bought tickets for a concert there, only to arrive and find out it's stand only, with just a handful of bar stools along the upstairs railing. My diabetic girlfriend cannot stand for long periods of time, and the sold out crowd of 1500 people were still filing in a already full house when we left. NO WHERE on TKF's website (or ticket masters) does it mention this is a standing only venue. We were very disappointed and will never go back. read more

I was happy to catch a show here while I was in town. The sound is awesome inside and the venue itself is pretty cool. I was little upset about the no re-entry policy but I'm sure they have their reasons. Drinks are reasonably priced considering it's a music venue. Show up four hours early or you will not get a seat. They wont be open, you will have to get drinks somewhere else while you wait. The drinks are watered down, the dance floor is too small, not enough seating, no smoking (unless you know the employees apparently.) Rude staff at the ticket box, the bouncers were not proactive, they just hung out by the door and failed to see the fights going on around the bar. The venue is mediocre. The sound quality varied from poor to good, depending on the artist. The stage is far removed and elevated above the crowd, preventing any kind of up close or personal experience with the performers. The drinks are overpriced and the bar is understaffed to keep up with the amount of people ordering, even for an all ages show. My main complaint comes with the staff, management, and operations. I recently attended a show with some friends. We were seated in the seating area between the bar and the stage minding our own business, out in the open view of nearly the whole venue. My friend Steven was falsely accused of masturbating in this area by a crowd member and escorted off the premises by security. That's right, a random person can report you to security, for any reason despite multiple eye witness accounts testifying otherwise, and have you expelled from the venue. I confronted the security official and he refused in anyway to help me escalate the situation. He wouldn't give me his name or alert management for me, and became increasingly combative until I found another employee who would help me. I was then brought to a man named Travis who refused to show me proof of my friends transgression, refused to let my friend back in, and simply gave me a card of another person, "Ed," and sent me on my way refusing to help me any further. So now I confront Ed, "the head of security." He refuses to help me. Ed tells me to contact him and leave a voicemail, to resolve the issue at a later date. Ed lied to me. After multiple attempts to contact management in any form, I am still unsuccessful. Me and my friends were wronged by the Knitting Factory and its staff; in addition to that, they refuse to make it right in any way. The Knitting Factory literally has the worst service I have ever received at any establishment in Spokane in the twenty eight years I've lived here. To say the least I will never go to the Knitting Factory again, and I warn you from wasting your money on a business that doesn't care about or respect its own customers. read more

I went to my first concert at the Knit in August of 2015, and had wonderful experience. And because of that, I have been going quite frequently since then. But on April 16th, I had one of the best experiences so far. I like many people were not willing to give up my spot on the rail. However, after an hour a line, and now three hours into the concert, and it being hot, myself along with many others were quite thirsty. Chris, on of the staff members, went out of his way and brought a stack of cups and a pitcher of water. And for the next fifteen minutes went back and forth filling the pitcher and then the cups of the guest. He made the night for many of us a lot better. read more

Going here was the worst experience I've ever had. This is the worst venue in Spokane and I really wish someone would open a different venue up and shut this place down. I went in with friends to have a good time I literally had two drinks I accidentally put my elbow on a table which then tipped and spilled a drink the bouncers Who clearly are overzealous, power tripping, Uneducated idiots came over and told me that I was cut off. No questions asked nothing... I wasn't buzzed . I said fine I was happy to not drink anymore no big deal but then they tried to mark my hands with giant permanent marker. Which I said no to because I work in a professional world and I wouldn't be able to get it off and I can't go to work with two giant black X's on my hands . I asked if they could mark my wristband instead because I wasn't trying to be a pain in the ass I just didn't want to giant permanent marks on my hand. It was an absolute nightmare in the end they made me get the marks so I could go back in and close my tab and say bye to my friends I had to scrub so hard that it left bruises on my hands. I will never go back to this establishment ever ever ever again. I don't care who is playing I would rather travel to Seattle then ever go to the knitting factory again. People do not waste your money to go and have a bad time. I literally didn't even see the concert because I left just pissed off. VIP section is definitely worth it. The perfect section for someone who wants to enjoy the artist without being in a mob or having drinks spilled on you. I would recommend VIP, because being in the regular section is a bit too much. Also, as a heads up, this venue as a no re-entry policy, so be careful about leaving the venue in the middle. read more

Well. Where to start. Okay, I'll start off nice. I genuinely like the physical space of the venue. Sound was good, layout was well thought out. Good sightlines. Hmm, what else, what else? Oh, the people that work there are a bunch of GOONS! Drove 5 hours from Seattle to see Volbeat, since they sold out in, hmm, ten minutes at the Showbox. Got to the venue to see the middle act. Volbeat starts. Hear the first song, hmmm, some people are moshing in front of me. That's cool, I used to do that. Not interested any more, so I assume the stance to protect my girlfriend and a random girl that looked scared. The kids aren't getting too crazy, so I relax. Some punk totally body-checks me without provocation. I calmly (hey, I'm 44 and have been to so many rock shows it's ridiculous - NEVER been thrown out of one... until now) tap the fellow on the shoulder (keep in mind, he's wearing a blank light-colored t-shirt, no evidence of being on the staff) and tell him, "Hey, lets calm down. We're all here to have fun and enjoy the show". He immediately tries to step up into my face (tried, since he couldn't have weighed more than a buck fifty soaking wet) and yells at me, "You spit in my face! That's rude!" I'm standing there, staring at this punk trying to figure out what the heck he's talking about. He looks over, nods his head, and some ape I never even get a chance to get a good look at armhooks me and drags me out the door. I say drag, I should say "lifted me up enough so my feet don't touch the floor". I'm out. No chance to get back in, my girlfriend in there... all she saw was some punks dragging me off, thinking they were going to go beat me up in a corner. Actually, the ginormous bruise on my arm later that night testifies to the fact that these idiots have no idea what they're doing. Yeah, way to start off celebrating getting your concert license back, Knitting Factory! The best part? I left voice mails for every part of their management that night. The Sound system Sucks! Two much smaller venues here in Spokane (The Bartlett and The Big Dipper) have EXCELLENT sound systems so....this was a big fat disappointment. Doors were supposed to open at 7:30....got there @ 7:30 and the place was already full...no place to sit at all. Once you enter, you cannot leave and come back-would have been nice to know that ahead of time. I wish I could give this place zero stars but I guess this will do- the staff are ridiculous, they clearly have never worked at any other music venue where concert goers are fun, easy and low maintenance. We felt quarantined and treated like total nuisances- security was over the top and we were ushered out of the venue literally before the band had finished leaving the stage. Wow....my age was showing at the Modest Mouse concert. Maybe I've listened to too many bands in my life, but I was VERY glad I brought earplugs! Whoever booked the warm~up dude needs their head examined....the worst thing I've ever seen/heard! It then took 45 minutes from that let~down for MM to set up...at which time we almost passed out from the sauna~like lack of air. They sounded horrible once they did play...and we left early, along with many others walking out! Knitting Factory staff was courteous and friendly....man, they gotta put up with some crap, I hope you pay them well. I saw Avatar here on 1/27 and was pleasantly surprised - they played past midnight. After seeing all the sh*tty reviews for this place, I was worried it would suck. Parking was no problem. I don't drink, so I was happy that alcohol is not allowed on the floor. Get hammered on the sidelines. Then again, this is Washington, why wouldn't you just smoke instead of drink (God, the show would have been so much better if people had and this is coming from someone who does not). Drunk a$$holes from the back tried to force their way to the front, stumbling everywhere and trying to use their girlfriends as shields, but I think that is pretty common here in the deep south of the Northwest - pretty sure there was more than one PBR hat in the front center. I was near the barricade, which was wonderful - the sound quality was decent, I could see all of the band, pop all of the bubbles. The moshing is kind of lame here. Some people were outright violent trying to beat their way in front - some got kicked out and then their friends whined for half of the show (waaaaa). The "moshers" here are just that - moshers with air quotes. More like skinhead slammers from the 90s but with hair instead because this is Spoke-ane. I wish that no one had told Johannes how to pronounce Spokane properly. I also wish that the security guy hadn't stepped away as the guy next to me grabbed the guitar pick I caught from me shrugging "sorry" when I tried to say something - got to love Eastern Washington. I'm not positive but I thought I heard the Deliverance theme song playing as I left the venue. read more

So we watched Zoso here last Friday night. It was an excellent show and experience. Not sure why so many negative reviews. We did get some tips from friends though. Such as, get there when the resteraunt and bar open at five. Call and make a reservation if you don't want to sit at the bar. We sat at the bar and had dinner. When you go in, they give you a number for early entry into the show. So we got there at five, ordered food and drinks, got the number two. Then about 6:30 they started calling numbers. we were second in and pretty much had our pick of any seat we wanted. Again, a friend told us to get your seat and stay put or you'll lose it. So we sat down with our drinks and did just that. I will say, if you didn't know all this and showed up at show time, your looking at a long wait in lines and probably going to be standing for the whole show. The concert was very up close and personal. Killer sound and really just a great time! I didn't notice a bad smell from the carpets like other reviews I read, and it wasn't an oven either. Seemed the perfect temperature. And as for the price of drinks, if you order a burger, it's only three bucks for a pint of beer. The staff was awesome. Super friendly and helpful. The first hour of the show was a great local band. then a half hour break while zoso set up. The show wrapped up around midnight. Will come back again for sure!! read more

The Knitting Factory in Spokane is a joke. I have bought tickets for several concerts only to have the performers not show up. Sometimes the only notice people would get about a cancelled concert is a note on the door. The inside smells like vomit and urine and the drinks are way to pricey. Don't go!! It is dangerous! If you must go do not drink the bouncers might use it for an excuse to beat innocent people up. My husband and I went to a show at the knitting factory on July 13th 2012. The concert was alright....The bouncers were very unprofessional and seemed to have a hunger for drama or something....The drinks were expensive and in very small plastic cups. After we had been there a little over an hour and drank about 2-3 tiny 12oz drinks each the security guards (who were not even wearing matching shirts or anything just regular street clothes) came up to my husband (who was just standing there talking to some guys in wheelchairs that we had just met) while I was in the bathroom and they knocked the cups out of his hands and spilled our drinks on purpose! Then they told him he was not allowed to drink anymore that night!!? (he was holding my drink while I went to the bathroom) When I got back my husband told me we should go home and he wasnt having a good time anymore. I had to say goodbye to some friends and went to look for them by the bar when I was suddenly grabbed by the bouncers and beaten in the back of the head so hard I lost conciousness. When my husband finally found me outside on the sidewalk I was all bruised up and disoriented from having a concussion. He asked the people standing nearby (who happened to be employees/bouncers of the knitting factory) what had happened and they then beat him up too!. I thought he was going to die and so was I. I actually was so scared I fainted or lost conciousness again. The bouncers called the cops and said my husband and I were drunk and they had kicked us out because I was throwing a metal trash can at the bartender (totally false)..... I cannot even imagine myself ever doing this... They also said my husband had assaulted them....I dont know why the cop bought their story since my husband and I were the ones who were all bruised up and bleeding!! I will never go there again no matter what artist is playing. I was completely let down by the cop..I felt he really dropped the ball.I called the next day while I was at the hospital to complain that he did not call an ambulance for us...he continued to just write us off as two drunks yet he had no proof because he never did a breath-alizer or anything on us. That cops supervisor refused to take my complaint. It is sad that the police allowed the bouncers at the knitting factory to do what they did with no consequenses. I hope no one else has to have this type of experience! That is why I finally decided to speak out and write this reveiw. read more

Horrible venue, the staff treated me and my wife very poorly the drinks are extremely overpriced and there is almost no customer service I have been to several shows and I feel the same way every time I leave. We went on 12-20-2014. The bands were fun, the place was not. First the air is bad, Inadaquate ventilation, that alone will sicken you. But worst are the drinks. I ordered my usual, they used phony alcohol and it made me sick and gave me a royal hangover with just two drinks. We will never go again. read more

Visited the Knit for the Girl Talk show. The entrance is kind of odd, it feels like youre walking through the lobby of a deserted hotel. Once inside, the bar is expansive and there are plenty of tables with a great view of the stage. These tables seem easy to acquire if one shows up early enough. The bar wasnt pouring any draft beers, which was really depressing due to the fact that it looked like they normally had a lot of options in that department. The floors of the bar were extremely sticky by the end of the evening.. Too many kids spilling their jager shots I suppose. Service was acceptable, drinks were at the expected price point for a live music venue.. The sound quality was up to par for a venue of this size. The awkward parts for me were seeing a guy who had taken his toddler to the show.. I was shocked security let this happen. The VIP section was apparently not offered to the general public for this show, and it would have been nice to at least had it offered as an option. Nonetheless, the venue was more than acceptable by Spokane standards. read more

I just read a bunch of mixed reviews and feel I have to weigh in. I love this venue and would give 5 stars if there was more seating. I always make reservations at the Gastropub restaurant there so I can get in to the venue first. Don't expect much from the food, I'm not a big fan of their menu but I order something light just so I can get in with the first wave. I have seen Allen Stone three times, Blackberry Smoke, Michael Franti, Shakey Graves and lots of other shows and have never been disappointed. Bill Richardson who is in charge of Guest Services is a wonderful and helpful security person and very professional. The venue is small and can get very crowded when the bigger names are there and it's important to carve out your spot early. I tend to go to the more sedate shows, not the heavy metal so much so not usually such a rowdy crowd. Oh, did I mention my friends and I are in our mid to late 60's? I always call and let Bill Richardson know that we will be coming and he never fails to come to our table to say hello. If you are sick or injured and need special accommodations, I recommend you call and let Bill know and he will make sure you get a seat. I have been concerting for almost 50 years and I love this venue and am very comfortable here. read more

I am a concert junkie and this past weekend we drove to Spokane for a show for the first time. Hearing mixed reviews from this place, I was nervous. Our show was sold out and it was PACKED. We knew it was all general admission, and if you want a good spot, get there early - we were not about to wait in line for 2 hours before the door opened. We went about a half hour AFTER the doors opened and it was already extremely full. We got a spot in the way back upstairs - and because this is such a small venue, it didn't matter - we had a great view, and it sounded good! There was also a server who would come back over and get our drink orders so we didn't have to wait in line at the bar. Though, I did get in line once and I will say, for being a full bar, the line does actually move pretty quickly. I was surprised! I saw complaints about the drink prices, but honestly, they were cheaper than nearly every other concert I've been to. We had a great time and would definitely go back! read more

Went to Kid Rock Concert 12/07/11. Great Concert Bad Management. Always go to Mixx 916 prior to get early admission but wasn't worth it this time. Expensive for beer & burger to get into concert and all the tables were taken out so limited seating was a huge understatement, all there was were bar stools along the railings. Bartenders were stressed to the max by all the additional people and rude, wait staff tried their best but were too out numbered so service suffered. Kid Rock was great as was Ty Stone and don't regret going at all, but management gets an F for appropriate staffing and management of lines at the bar and their bottom line probably suffered. I waited in line a long time and another 20 min at the bar and finally gave up, did not want to miss the concert for a drink, there was also no place for garbage so people were just throwing it on the floor-disgusting. It will be along time before I will go to a concert there again. read more

This was my first but certainly not my last time going to this venue. My friends and I traveled from Reno, NV to Spokane to see our favorite band The 1975 at the Knitting factory and it was hands down the best show we have seen them put on. Not only was the concert amazing but so were the staff and security. The manager Ed Richardson was so unbelievably kind and informative. I cannot tell you how many venues I've been to where the management/security talk down to you and treat you terribly but that was not the case here !! Everyone was trying their best to make things move smoothly since we started the line the night before/camped out. I honestly have never felt more respected and happy with staff and security here. When we were in the venue security/staff also got us cups of water to help us stay hydrated (which is very crucial) and they were only $1 w free refills ! Also there was a gentleman working security named William and he was the sweetest person I think I've ever met! Again so nice and respectful and he was definitely jamming along with the music/clapping after every song :) I have never had an experience as outstanding as I did here at the knitting factory! Do not listen to the other reviews that speak so poorly of this place it is truly an amazing venue with amazing staff !!! read more
