The food is very well served in a more than average size portion. Very tasty and well prepared without too much over seasoning. Only thing is that the vegetables overcooked broccoli just doesn't taste right over cooked sorry. We both had a cup of the pozole and it was very good and filling, sorry I forgot to take a picture to include but I don't believe you would be disappointed tastes authentic only thing they could have served it with maybe some tortilla chips to compliment the way it served, it was served with on the side shredded cabbage and diced onions. The short rib is $28.95 and is a very good size serving with the fair serving of mashed potatoes the vegetables were overcooked but it was acceptable enough to eat it. The fish and chips are enough for two people if you just want to have something to get you by but it would be too much of a meal to eat for one person for sure $23.95. We went on a Monday night around 7:00 and it was a small crowd nice and quiet few people at the bar eating and having a few drinks service was fast waiter was polite. Knolls might not seem alluring because it's in the middle of a strip mall, but we had heard good things and decided to check it out on a whim one Saturday night. First thing we noticed is that the place is much bigger than it looks from the road and is really nicely laid out and decorated with some very high-end touches such as glass walls. The menu was surprisingly extensive and had some really great selections, it took a while to whittle down our selections, which is a really fun problem to have. Everything we got from the dirty martinis to espresso martinis to appetizers and entrees was VERY well-prepared and delicious! We learned while we were there that they have a live band every night, which is extremely unique and interesting. There was an air of familiarity with the various patrons, which made it seem like they have a lot of regulars - another good sign. Even though it was a packed Saturday night we found two seats at the bar and our server, Nick, was super attentive, friendly and fun. The last few times we went to the Knolls, we were disappointed. The turkey burgers were always our favorite meal. But we had raw meat and had to send it back. We went one more time and something just tasted off. That night we were both sick to our stomachs. It had to be the meat again! We're really sad about it. We really wanted this place to be our spot. The bartenders are always friendly and kind but they need to do something about their chefs. There aren't too many other items on the menu for us to return. read more

Another meal on LB, with my brother and sister-in-law. They took me to Knolls. We shared the calimari and boom boom shrimp (my favorite of the night) . I tried the short ribs, my brother the pork chop and SIL had one of the salads with salmon. None of us had room for dessert! I also tried the blackberry sangria. While the short ribs were tender, they really didn't have much flavor and according to my brother the pork chop was okay, but nothing special. Very mid. We came for a birthday brunch. The place was quiet, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Service average. Food average. They over cooked my Angus burger (dry), I didn't complain as I was hungry. The wings were above average-good. The breakfast dishes were mediocre. Cocktail menu was unexciting. We had a very positive experience at The Knolls. Our server was prompt and very very accommodating. Unsure of what beer to order, we were give a sampling of two to choose from. One of us wanted a mocktail and they were able to make whatever she wanted. We shared the hummus appetizer, there was enough for the four of us. It was flavorful and the pita was warm and very soft. Entrees were 2 lamb shanks, a kobe burger and a turkey burger. The lamb shanks were HUGE and they said were delicious The burgers were HUGE...loaded with cheese, avocado and all the usual trimmings , they were tasty and satisfying. Accompanied by a generous serving of sweet potato fries, ranch and ketchup they were perfect. Finally came down to this bar for happy hour and it did not disappoint!! Ambiance: 10/10 This is definitely a modern and very sleek looking place! I love the decor and the full bar. Decent amount of TVs and they play sports and MMA so I can't complain. Lots of seating, which is great for Bixby knolls area, and very clean. A bit dark but they seem to have lighting in the right areas to ensure you can decently see. Service: 10/10 Everyone was so nice, knowledgeable of the menu and gave amazing service. No complaints at all and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Food: 10/10 I ordered their popular Boom Boom shrimp and fried zucchini, both were just perfect. The shrimp was tasty and cooked perfectly. The zucchini was also cooked to perfection with a crunchy coating, and did not lack in the flavor! Their ranch is very good and their chipotle mayo is the only one I've ever tried that actually has a kick, and I loved it. Myself and 3 friends in my party tried The Knolls for the first time. I ordered the Pacific sand dabs. I got two good size of fish on a bed of sauté' rice with green beans (very delicioius). The fish were cooked to perfection. They were tasty and very moist (cooked with egg wash & butter lemon sauce). My friends ordered the salmon, sand dabs also and short ribs. Everything was delicious. We ordered a bottle of Oyster Bay and it was more than reasonable $28 a bottle, which is a bargain! The ambiance was playful. The restaurant has a huge bar and from the looks of it, they can create your favorite cocktail drink of choice. Our waiter was courteous and attentive. Everything was wonderful. I read reviews and searched the menu photos, I ordered the Braised Short Ribs served over pasta and I didn't liked what I ordered. It had no flavor, the beef was hidden in the pasta, it just didn't like how it looked. I wont go back there again, it was my first time as well- I pass there and wanted to try it but made a bad choice I guess. I would give the food 5 stars, but they kept messing up our orders... Lemon Drop had no sugar rim, ordered Garlic Fries but served regular fries, and a burger was missing its cheese. They accommodated for all of the mistakes by taking them back and fixing them, but it was just so disappointing and inconvenient during our celebratory dinner. The waitress was kind to all of our requests, so I am thankful we didn't receive any harshness when we asked for fixes. The cocktails were pretty good, not the best. The Jade drunk was my least favorite drink (ever). The Sunset tasted the best. Pulled Pork Nachos and Garlic Fries were the stars of the night! Tasty and fresh. My Lobster Carbonara was kind of plain to say the least--I wasn't wowed and wouldn't order again. Nobody was extremely impressed by their entrees, really. I have been going to the Knolls since they opened and have enjoyed most visits. Recently went for dinner with a friend on a Tuesday night and when we asked what Chardonnays they had, found out they only had one bottle of Kendall Jackson. The server had no explanation on why a restaurant their size would only have one bottle of wine for customers. She didn't know when more was going to arrive. The food was good and the restaurant was not very busy. We did ask if maybe the owner was in the process of selling and she did not know. I hope this was just a fluke and next visit will be better. read more

This was my first time visiting Knolls, and I will ABSOLUTELY return. I can see the parking being a bit of a challenge, I lucked up and pulled up as someone was leaving. Now, the service was great! From the moment we walked in, until we left. In our order we had, shrimp cocktail, wings, Korean Beef Tacos, grilled cheese with braised short rib and sweet potato fries! Everything was AMAZING! I don't even know where to start, the new menu is SOOOO BAD! I never leave reviews but I just had to; now I don't know why this restaurant came into new ownership but if the reason is bankruptcy the way to fix that is not this new horrible menu. My Grandmother, mom and I and all our family have been coming here for YEARS , this place was known to stand out, the food was quality and it was unique and appealing it was different. Now The quality is so bad first the options are comparable to Applebees or chilis, it might as well be Polly's pies, seriously read the room , look at the restaurants around you. They are hip, innovative something you cant find anywhere else and something you will remember about that specific spot, something you might possibly have a craving for and know that the chef put their all. People do not want to sit in the corner restaurant surrounded by better options at a place they used to love just to be served boring and poor quality food, now even the food quality is SIGNIFICANTLY better at chain restaurants like Applebees. The new owners have literally defamed the legacy of this restaurant in the neighborhood to locals and taken it down to a level equivalent to cafeteria food. This is such an insult to the establishment the community has loved for years, I'm not sure if you brought in a new chef or are just absolutely making a joke of the old chef but this is just horrible and heartbreaking, seriously bring back the old menu or at least narrow down the options but keep the innovation. My standards are not that high, maybe under the old owners you would expect to be skimped on food portion for the price, but never quality or innovation. it was a place you would come back to because the food was good and it was unique to the knolls, there is no reason for anyone who comes here to ever come back, there's no bargain, there's nothing special, there's no quality. Maybe you might gain a couple elderly regulars but you will certainly lose the people who frequent here for years. read more

2 stars just for our server because she was very friendly and attentive. We had appetizers and a couple drinks, the food was mediocre at best. Crab cakes were lacking flavor, and served with shredded iceberg lettuce? Sliders with brie and fries were dry and they were very skimpy with the fries. The Korean tacos tasted like they were tossed in Sriracha mixed with ketchup, very lazy and strange. And what offended me most of all, I ordered a top shelf dirty vodka martini, and it tasted like the bartender didn't clean the shaker before he made my drink, traces of berry flavor from a different cocktail, yuck. This restaurant was absolutely terrible. We ordered calimari and they where tiny burnt over salted probably frozen from Sam's club. The pear turkey Brie sandwich was not good at all. I think the pear must of been old and the turkey was little pieces almost like the one of whatever they had. It was a Tuesday afternoon and their was only one server and it was a busy lunch hour. He was kind and was really working hard. When we walked in it smelled like and old mop and was not inviting. I do not recommend this restaurant at all read more

Do not eat here. Food is awful. Server was super nice, but was not educated on beer, spirits, or the menu. Lobster Mac did not have lobster, but had a few chunks of artificial crab. She said the drinks there are great. I ordered the tuna poke & I had to add a ton of salt. It looked nothing like the picture I saw on someone else's review so I was kind of bummed. Not my first time at this place. Very good menu for the happy hour. Last time I visited they used nacho cheese, which was awesome; this time they used just normal melted cheese, which left them a tad dry. They should also consider adding some more servers, especially on "First Fridays" because they tend to disappear for a while. But this experience will not prevent me from coming back again though.
