PBS Pub is a friendly local bar located in the heart of the Wrigley district. The locals and the owner, Christine, are very nice and welcoming, which adds to the experience when you come here. A huge plus is that they're dog-friendly and allow your fur babies inside. They also have the cutest little outdoor patio that gives the feel of enjoying brews at someone's backyard party. I love the selection of beer here and definitely recommend the berry-flavored brew from the locally owned Ambitious Ales. They also host really fun karaoke nights on Saturdays! Overall, I recommend this neighborhood pub to anyone in the area looking for a new bar! read more

My friends and I came here on a whim on a random Tuesday night since a restaurant we wanted to try not too far away was randomly closed. We came here to grab a beer and decide where we wanted to eat in the meantime. Glad we did because they have a pretty decent selection of beer on tap here and even have happy hour for a pretty long time in the evening Monday through Thursday. They also have a very spacious outdoor patio that had a nice little aesthetic going for it as well. I'd definitely come back here any other time. Came in on 06/12/24 to have a drink with my oldest kid. This place has been here since 1950. I remember always walking by it on my way home from elementary school in the 80's. At one point, it was a biker bar which is why I guess I never cared to drink here until now. It's all beer but the bartender kindly made me something similar to a whiskey ginger ale. There's a cute patio out in the back. I believe I overheard someone say they have karaoke but not sure what days. They have a pool table and juke box. As we were leaving, my son stopped at a stop sign and either a drunk guy or homeless guy walked up to the car and tried to bash the car windows with his fist. It was probably 11:30pm. Scary. Overall, a hole in the wall neighborhood dive bar that I will gladly patron. Love the Wrigley area. Just wish that the city and police can work better on handling homeless issue. read more

Came here for an engagement party so not sure how much I can review as 100% the establishment. Regardless, had a great time here and would 8/10 return. Had a beer to drink (forgot the name) as well as Pinot noir (Called Old Soul 2020 and honestly one of the best Pinots I've had). We were seated outside due to the large party for the engagement party. This was the height of the heat wave so it was pretty toasty though it was evening. Found me another watering hole in the LBC Didn't know about this place as I guess it was closed for a while. Found it yesterday when looking for a place to go to, to drown my sorrows. Or at the least drink them away. Kidding aside ... On Willow. Southside of the street between Magnolia and Eucalyptus. No private parking lot. Street parking. Found a bunch on Eucalyptus and walked over. I don't trust parking on Willow. But you do what you feel comfortable. Service was awesome. Between Letty and Didi - hope I spelled their names right - my friend and I had a chill time catching up, out on their outdoor patio. On that note - there's seating both in and outside, two TV's and a pool table. Jukebox with a great selection of tunes. At least it was to me. For those who need to know - there's a gender neutral bathroom. Clean too. No food here but a lot of pours. Draft and both bottles and cans. Great Happy hour prices to where I questioned my bill because it was so low. Usually it's the other way around. You can bring food in or there's an agreement with the Bread Company. Always wanted to check out this place after they took new ownership and remodeled the place. Service - The staff here is super friendly and very easygoing and will go out of the way to make your stay feel great. Venue - From outside the place looks tiny, but once you get inside, the place is a good size, and the outside patio is very chill and relaxing. Prices - Fair pricing. Drinks - They only serve beer and wine, but the selection is great, and they always have samples of different stuff. Food - They will soon get food going, but in the meantime, they offer some great Filipino style peanut and sometimes have colabs with food vendors that cook up a great meal. Overall, it was a great place and will be my go-to in accession. read more

PBS honestly feels more like a cozy family living room than a bar -- warm, welcoming, and everyone is super friendly. Definitely the kind of place you'd want to share with good company. I went in on last Sunday and was completely ignored for 10 minutes. Owner was serving and I watched as she served ice with a patrons water she had retrieved from a container at end of bar where I happened to be standing. I remarked to a friend that I hoped they had ginger beer and waited and waited and waited. While the server/owner never even looked my way fully. What a shitty server so I proceeded to the entrance and never looked back. Thanks for validating what I had already been made aware of by several patrons of how unwelcoming a shitty owner/server you can be at times! Wow! read more

PBS is a great spot in Wrigley, especially for taco tuesdays. The bartender is very nice. We had a La Chouffe and San Miguel as happy hour specials, then a passion fruit ale later on. Our shrimp tacos were good, but the chips and guacamole were excellent. Those may be the best fresh tortilla chips I've ever had. We don't live in Wrigley, but I wish our neighborhood had a PBS Pub too. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: A great little neighborhood hang. Had a Tuesday night hang here with some friends who live around the corner and are now devoted regulars. It's small but very pleasant, with a lovely patio that feels like a friend's chill back yard, in the best sense. When it got a little chilly we moved it inside and had fun with the digital jukebox. They have a varied beer selection, from mass market lagers to local microbrews--something for everyone! They also have complimentary pretzels and homemade seasoned peanuts that are AMAZING. They have food vendors on the weekends, but no food otherwise, aside from the aforementioned snacks. I believe they're working on getting wine in there, which will be nice. The staff here are friendly and on the ball, including the owner, who took over the evening shift while we were there. Clearly it's a passion project for him and his wife, and I wish them all the success. Looking forward to my next visit...and more of those peanuts! read more

The PBS Pub has been around a long time, but in the last few years new owners have worked hard to make it a fun and inviting local spot. There are lots of craft beers on tap, many from local breweries. Wine and soft drinks are available too, as well as specialty drinks like micheladas. The meatball sliders are so good! The back patio is a great place to hang out with friends. Finally, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Love it! read more

So stoked the PBS Pub in the Wrigley neighborhood of Long Beach is re-opened!! If you're not familiar with the story, it was purchased by a group of Long Beach locals during the start of the pandemic in 2020 and brought back to life this year 2022. The Grand opening was Friday March 4, 2022. It's a super rad neighborhood pub serving up great beers including local brews from Syncopated Brewing and Ten Mile Brewing right here in the LBC. The tap selection went from 4 to 27 under the new ownership and the whole place itself was redone and brought back to life. Get on down there and show them some love let 'em know I sent ya!! I've been living on the west side for a few years now. I've driven by this bar so many times. It always looked shady to me so I never got a chance to go. I am a PBR and seagrams type of guy so I always had plans on going and then Covid happened. I drove by and one day the windows were boarded up and then a few months later I saw lights and what appeared to be a reopening happening. I decided to go today after stumbling on their instagram page and saw it was turned into a beer bar with like 27 taps. I really enjoyed the selection of beers. They have high life for like 3.25 as well as higher end hazy IPAs and a large bottle and can selection. The little patio is sick, I would just like to see some more sturdy benches I was kinda scared I was gonna fall through. I will def come back and hope the food trucks keep pulling up. This place is super cool for a date night since it's not too loud and you could always do some stargazing while enjoying a few pints and playing some tunes on the jukebox. Cheers read more

First timer but definitely won't be my last time. PBS makes you instantly feel welcome and the vibe and is on point with younger crowds and what looked like regulars hanging out at the bar. Cool pool table but the patio was my favorite part to hangout. They had a pop up food vendor there that night with an awesome menu of tacos, burgers and nachos. They had so many beers on tap and the bartender was knowledgeable about the different beers that I went out of my comfort zone and tried some recommended IPAs which were good and I'll have again. Checking out a few joints in my new neighborhood. I'll admit, this is a cool little spot! Has a nice vibe, patio and ample seating. Not your typical neighborhood pub. Lots of friendly faces gives you a true sense of community. They serve mostly beer, but have other alcoholic beverages (liquor). The bartenders are cool and welcoming. Been working in the Wrigley area for decades and glad to finally find a great local business nearby to support. Came here a couple times for a staff happy hour, very friendly, great selection of beers and wines and at a great price. Patio is nice too weather permitting. Parking was easy and we grabbed food next door (hungry horse-cash only but a good value and great for snacking). Will be back for sure. read more

Wow- what a difference! We moved to the area three years ago and were excited to see a local watering hole so close to us. When we went in it was immediately clear that new people were not welcome. Fast forward to now with new ownership, a complete overhaul (it was dark and dank in there), and a friendlier crowd- we've found our home away from home! I visited PBS today for the first time, and I found it to be a welcoming and comfortable neighborhood retreat. In addition to it having a light and airy indoor bar environment, there's a roomy "backyard" patio area, replete with tables and chairs where you can chill and share good times with family and friends. Boy has this place changed since I last visited. Ok, it's been a couple years but can a pub change that drastically? Yes! This used to be my go to spot for cheap beer. Schooners were $4 and there were $2 beer specials. It was a dive bar but at least it was cheap and the people were friendly. Now, this place has ridiculous prices and it's still a dive bar with barflies. A schooners of Stella (they call that premium beer) is $11. A schooners of Bud will run you $7.50. These prices are ridiculous for Wrigley. I'm sorry but I will never set foot in here again. It's not worth it. And their schooners are only 24oz. This is highway robbery. If they keep this up they'll be out of business soon enough. Avoid this place... Really. read more
