I brought my dog Saturday and let's just say they turned my miniature schnauzer into a raccoon. I'm beyond irritated and before coming here I called to speak with the supervisor but was RUDELY corrected by Rachael that it's the owner! Anyway, upon arrival I asked the lady (unknown name) to make sure his hair on his body isn't scalped and to make sure his face hair is just cut down. She stated that she understood. Well I come back and I didn't even recognize my dog. Heck he don't even recognize himself. She stated, " he's acting like that because he feels weird without all of that hair. (Maybe she can read his mind) because he's sure been acting sad lately and normally he's a happy and jubilant dog. My babies are so upset. Anyway, The owner called me just a minute ago and I had to let her have it because she tried to say we neglected the dog. Even though we have had it a little rough and was given the dog in November, from the winter storm to house fire just last month ( it's been rough.) I showed her his papers I got his shots and etc. in January. So it wasn't that bad. I showed her all of his papers she barely looked at them. I have been going to Knot 2 Shaggy for 5 years. It is a haul fore me (20+miles) but so worth it. I started out with my Westie puppy of 18 weeks. We had a terrible grooming experience at Hollywood Feed in Lakewood (NOT GOOD) anyway I did some research on line and called said I had a puppy, explained what happened and wanted him to start getting used to getting groomed. Victoria totally understood and we have been going to to Knot 2 Shaggy consistently for 5 years and I have never been disappointed. . 3 years ago I added a another Westie to the family and she is a handful but Victoria always gets them done and they look great. She is very observant lets me know if she sees anything irregular such as a budding ear infection or dry skin. She is a great groomer. I have a bulldog and while she doesn't need to be groomed, she definitely does need her nails trimmed often. I called Knot 2 Shaggy to see if I needed to make an appointment and they said I could come right up and they'll fit her in! They said in the future I can do the same (call ahead) just to verify that my wait time won't be too long and they should always be able to just squeeze us in. Billie's nails are short and look fantastic! She has now been back twice and we'll make this our regular monthly doggie nail salon for sure! Today, they told me about a new service they're able to offer for dogs with skin allergies so I'm definitely going to give that a try in the future since bulldogs are prone to allergies. Knot 2 Shaggy might not be the cheapest option, but I think their expertise, professionalism, customer service and time are worth more than they are charging. When I picked her up, I was told she was more matted than they thought. Let me start off with saying that finding a groomer after moving to Dallas has been a struggle. My dog has fear and touch anxiety and therefore requires someone with experience to handle him. While this wasn't an issue in Chicago, almost every groomer I've called here turned us away or demanded that Rugby be knocked out during the groom or referred us to a Vets office. When calling Knot2Shaggy we explained our predicament and they graciously said they'd take him and give it a try. We took our dog to be groomed. After we picked him up, we noticed he was crying when we pet him. When we looked at his skin, there were scratches and cuts all over from the grooming brush. There were bald spots where he had been brushed too hard and his undercoat had been pulled out. A dog carer chose this place so I had to pay while the dogs were being picked up but I had asked for them to be cut as short as possible. I couldn't believe the smaller one had even been groomed. We have been going here for year since I moved back to the area after college. I have a 14 year old miniature schnauzer who will NOT let me brush her or clean her eyes. We were recommended to this groomer from someone at our vet who gets their goldendoodles groomed here by the owner, Victoria. Unfortunately, our Sheepadoodle and Aussiedoodle got the worst haircut they have ever had here. Upon arrival we talked about how we wanted each dog cut- and I had a five minute conversation about how I DID NOT want my aussiedoodles head cut AT ALL. she told me that it would be disconnected and I said that was fine- I wanted it that way. I wanted her body 1/2 inch and her head left untouched, but her neck cleaned up. She told me she would scoop the eye area out- so she could see and I said okay but do not shave the bridge of her nose. When I came back to pick them up, she said, I did end up cutting her head. My dog came out and she POODLED my dogs head. She shaved the bridge of her nose, left her a mustache and cut the top of her head and didn't bother to clean up her ears- the only part she didn't touch which made them way too long. Once I got home I also noticed how uneven her body was. My aussiedoodle wasn't matted so there was no reason for her to be uneven. Our Sheepadoodle was uneven, but I understood that because she had been matted and I had cut some of them out. However, her head was not cut to specifications either- she POODLED her too. If I wanted a poodle cut I would have said that instead of spending 15 minutes explaining how I wanted them cut. Over all these grooms were two of the worst we've had- and they were the most expensive. When I told her that I was upset, and she wasn't supposed to cut Ollie's head she said " well I just did what I thought would look good. I shouldn't have touched it". This clearly shows that she heard what I said and didn't care- she did what she wanted not what I wanted. Just beware- Victoria was very nice and professional but her listening skills need a lot of work. In my opinion she has no business charging these prices for the uneven body and overall bad groom our dogs got. (She even said our dogs were good which is expected because they are used to being bathed weekly). They are going to take months to grow out and we won't be coming back here ever again. read more

They were friendly and did exactly what they said they'd do, leave an inch and shave off whatever matts they couldn't get out (which was only behind her ears). After almost two weeks of boarding our two Cavaliers, we went to pick them up at Knot-2-Shaggy and were SHOCKED to find that the doors were locked and the lights were out at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2018. No one answered my repeated, frantic calls to the phone number on their door. Their signage lists their Sunday business hours as 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is no emergency contact number on their website. Over an hour later, I finally reached owner Debbie Wineland's cell phone because a neighbor had it. We were able to retrieve our precious pups only after she pulled into the parking lot and unlocked the door. Their website's touting "staffed 24/7" and Mrs. Wineland's personal assurance of that to me are FALSE. Mrs. Wineland was unapologetic about leaving my dogs - and all the others there - UNATTENDED. I've been bringing my dog here since 2015. When I first started bringing Lucy in for boarding she would be groomed and always smelled nice, and I felt they did a good job. That was not my recent experience though. After boarding my dog for over a week, and requesting that she be groomed the day she was being picked up by my daughter I was shocked to learn that she had urine stains on her feet and smelled awful. When I called K2S to notify them they offered for me to bring my dog back in the next day for a bath. They tried to suggest that my dog likes to sit in her own pee in the grass. If she was sitting in the pee the urine would be on her bottom, not on the tops of her paws. What I think is they kept her in a cage after grooming her and instead of taking her out she ended up peeing on herself. I paid over $350.00 and this is all they had to say-Come back in again and we'll bathe her. No I won't be going back and I'll make a point of letting everyone I know how my dog was treated by Knot 2 Shaggy. Very very disappointed. read more

So my pup, Pluto-- paid her a visit last week for his monthly hairdo and we were both very happy customers! It's so much nicer than going to Petsmart (Inwood), where Jessica had worked for over 14 years, and the prices are the same. First off, Victoria is amazing. If you have a poodle you must take him/her to Victoria. She shows poodles and as a result knowledgeable about the breed and my babies always come out looking amazing! She has a great time in the day care and sometimes boards overnight when we need to travel (and has someone there with her 24 hours a day, which is great peace of mind). Should have checked my pup before we left because they didnt bother to groom or trim her tail or trim the hair out of her ears!
