I worked for Star Market in Auburndale several times in the 16 years I was with Star Market. Many of the employees went here for breakfast. The food was aways great and the price was right. Auburndale was one of those communities that time seemed to stand still. This was a great place to stop on your way through life. I live in Vegas now but I remember the way to the Knotty Pine. I love doing a local search on Yelp and coming up with a good local place. It's no five star, but it's better than winding up at a McDonald's or Panera. Not sure why the previous reviewers are bent out of shape about the omelet pan...I'm from Jersey, we don't use pans at our diners. Also, it's called the Knotty Pine, why would you expect modern shiny decor? Silly. It looks like what it sounds like. What's the big deal, the omelets are cooked on a grill not in an omelette pan. The omelets are flat and not fluffy at all. The home fries are mushy, the blueberry muffins are dry dry dry and limited flavor. I will say service is good and friendly. Prices are good decor is old and dated. Small place on a street corner in Auburndale; six or seven small tables and a dozen or so places at a counter. It seems like the place to go to get a cup of coffee and an omelet, or maybe a pie. I had the blueberry pancakes, which were fine. I read about the Knotty Pine in the Globe Region section, and I was hoping for a bit more; it's on a par with the Weston Road Cafe in Wellesley or Ed's Diner in Natick, and about as cheap. Love this place, perfect for a tourist who is visiting the area. It is full of New England charm and sports memorabilia. Just don't tell the staff that you're a Yankees fan! If you want a straightforward breakfast place like the ones your parents and grandparents went to, this is it. This is a store front diner that I was told has been around for about 47 years. I am a simple bacon and eggs kind of guy, which were perfect, but I saw others happily eating omelets and a 9 year old who ate and wore his chocolate chip pancakes very well. Good, friendly service. Found this place through Yelp 3 months ago after traveling up to this area for 25 years, so I felt obliged to do my own review. I have been back for breakfast at least once in each of my 6 trips. The staff is extremely friendly!!!! Great service and the food is excellent! The chef who made my breakfast definitely has the Greek warm heart what makes guests coming back. Patrons are also very friendly! Parking is available for one hour free on the diner's sonde of rt 30 and for two hours on the opposite side. I was there on a Saturday morning when it is usually a busy time for diners and had no problem getting a seat (at the bar since I was by myself, but there were tables available as well) right away. Hell. Yes! Went here with @Gabriel and some other folks after a reasonable evening. We were crazy hungry. Thank goodness we found Knotty Pine. What a breakfast. I had the meat omelette and potatoes with English muffin. It was exactly what I needed. The potatoes were fried with cheese and slightly browned. They were delicious. Our server was really cool too. Came here for breakfast and ordered a number three. It came with two eggs, meat which i got bacon, home fries and toast. The home fries were burnt but that's how I enjoy them. The bacon is crispy and thin which i liked a lot. The price was cheap but don't bring all the friends. A booth sits up to four skinny friends max. read more

I ordered the breakfast combo that came with french toast. The looks of it weren't great, but I had a pleasant surprise with the flavor. It must of had some cinnamon and nutmeg in it. YUM! I ordered my meal Togo and thought it was a little funny that they don't have Togo boxes they just used a plate and covered it with foil. Overall I would come back to this place. Great little diner - we got in and out at 11:30am on a Saturday almost immediately. we had unlimited coffee, juice, bacon, 3 scrambled eggs, an omelet, homefries (the best I've ever had), extra cheese, an egg white upgrade, and two orders of toast for $22. the people serving us and the owner stopped by to see if everything was good. it's seat yourself at the counter, and while it was annoying to have singles seated every other place, I'm sure people would move if asked. we'll definitely be back in the future. read more

For a quick, inexpensive, delicious diner breakfast, I go here. My go-tos are an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a grilled english muffin and the sweet italian omelette. The breakfast sandwich is stacked with egg and cheese- so buttery, hot (crazy hot- this thing holds heat like nothing I've ever eaten) and delicious. The omelette is flavorful and cheesy and comes alongside delicious breakfast potatoes. Always get the homefries- they are seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The menu is simple. I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately very disappointed instead. First I was surprised that corned beef hash wasn't on the menu. But whatever I decided on sausages. My daughter ordered French toast, no cinnamon. It was made with sandwich bread and came with table sugar, not the typical powdered sugar. Kind of weird, right? The home fries, although looked amazing, were way too peppery to the point inedible for both of us. Found the Knotty Pine via Google search and went for breakfast Sunday. Such a cute place, so cozy. Great service, awesome coffee, awesome eggs and muffins! Sausage and home fries were very good, but way too spicy!!! And the pancakes were alright, but tasted like cake batter, not pancakes. Probably won't order them again.
