Service was good, but the food was not spectacular. I had the spicy miso ramen which was a very small portion. It wasn't terrible but not memorable, either. The noodles were very soft, just shy of soggy. Broth was flavorful but lukewarm. Presentation was good, and default toppings were generous. All the tables inside were full, so we decided to sit outside. Good, since the inside was pretty hot and stuffy. I suppose this is not bad considering the location... not many other places to choose from. I happened to be meeting a friend in the area so we decided to go here. Curbside dining and togo orders are welcomed. They have sanitizer and a sign in list prior to entering the establishment unless you're taking your order togo then you would just place your order inside. Staff is very friendly and although it takes a little bit of time for your food to come out.. don't fret they are giving each customer the best customer service as possible while being careful during Covid. I was referred to this place from a friend as I have migraines and I wanted something to just hug me back. As she says, "it's a hug in a bowl". Spice level ranges 1-10 and 1 is medium and that's what I added to my garlic bowl. I didn't taste the garlic and I'm a Huge Fan of garlic, the broth was on point and I wish they added more mushrooms and greenery! I love ramen, and having lived in the Long Beach area the past couple of years, I was really disappointed with the ramen offerings. Even during COVID time, a girl has got to get her ramen fix somehow without having to drive to West or Downtown L.A.! I had this business as a bookmark of mine (a list of places to try before I move out of Long Beach), and it did not disappoint. I used delivery service as I was working from home (in the middle of budget season), and I was able to order and get my food within 30 minutes, I want to say. My boyfriend and I ordered their spicy ramen -- he got level 5 and I got level 3 because my tolerance to spice has not been faring well over the past few years. In spite of the time for the food to travel from the restaurant to my residence and me also waiting 10-15 minutes before eating, the broth was still very warm and to the point where I did not have to reheat it -- and thankfully the way it was packed ensured there was no leak either! (It is important to note that the small cardboard piece they use in the bag really helps with transportation stability and ensures no spillage.) There was definitely a lot of broth, which I say since I do not have a large soup bowl at home. It was a good portion of noodles, meat, and vegetables. The level three spice was perfect for me as it was a harmony of various spices and gave the broth a really nice kick (I definitely felt the spice). *** Update: I dined in recently (well, outdoor dining since California is still limiting indoor activities during COVID times). The food and service were awesome. I also learned they have a spicy challenge (levels 10 and 20), when finishing level 20 within 30 minutes means free toppings for life. I am surprised to hear other reviews claiming the broth is over-seasoned or tastes funny. I personally felt that their spicy broth is one of the best I have had in the South Bay (and there plenty of really good ramen in South Bay), and it also did not get gelatinous like other ramen places that have too much pork fat in their broths. My kids absolutely love these noodles. The noodles actually have flavor in them. Every other noodle place it's about the broth flavor with noodles. These noodles are delicious. I think the food is great. Its actually my favorite ramen in town. If you are debating on going you should definitely go. If you have been craving ramen this is the best you can get. The ambiance inside is pretty good and its very clean. Never once gad i sat down and the table or chairs were dirty. The bathrooms are clean as well. One thing i wilk say is that it may be a bit pricey for a big group of people but anywhere would be pricey with a big group. There gyozas are also fantastic. They have great cotumer serivice as well. Amazing costumer service actually. The food comes out decently quick too. I would reccomend getting the koi ramed with shoyu broth. I hope you visit! read more

Leaving three stars because the regular food seems fine. I'm sure my experience was just the result of completing a challenge but I can't be sure as I haven't gone back since. I want to like this place. I really do. Especially as a certified heat freak who loves spicy food. When I found out that these guys had a spicy Ramen challenge. I was excited. Until I actually did it. The heat wasn't the issue, I glazed through it. the issue was the seasoning. I'm not sure what spice mixture they use for making the Ramen hotter. But whatever it is it must have salt in it. A lot of it. And in order to complete the level 10 challenge, which I proudly did, i had to drink all the broth. The problem with that is by the time I got to drinking all the soup. The salt seem to have settled towards the bottom and once I started getting toward the bottom.. it was like trying to drink SALT WATER. My body physically refused to keep it down at one point and I nearly puked. had to chase it down with some soda to stop the salty flavor from making me make a mess in the restaurant. And I definitely regretted not listening to my body later. Had a crazy headache and body aches the next day. (I guess minor food poisoning from excessive salt) But hey. I got my photo on the wall. So that's cool. TO THEIR CREDIT. Up until I had the saltiest broth of my life because all of that spice settled towards the bottom of the bowl. The Ramen was actually decent. But that experience has definitely put me off from coming back. It's a good ramen spot. They just need to tweak their spices a little bit and maybe go a bit easy on the salt. maybe once I'm over my salt trauma I'll give them another shot. read more

Super delicious! I had the Garlic Bomb Ramen with medium spice and it was just perfect. The first bite is always the spiciest and then your palate adjusts and it's just tasty. There is a good amount of garlic flavor--meaning vampires beware! The Huz had the Wonton Ramen and he liked it. We also had a milk tea boba and a taro milk tea boba and we both enjoyed those as well. The dining area is small and there are some outside eating areas as well. Downtown San Pedro is a vibe and this location just fits into that vibe. Absolutely love this place. Their vegetable ramen with vegetable broth + subbing kale noodles makes it fully vegan-friendly. I always go for the spicy, but that's just me. Their levels say 1-5, 3 is considered hot, you can technically go up to 50. I usually get 8, have gone up to 10. At 10, 20 or 50, you can get your name on the wall, if you empty your bowl within 30 minutes. Their edamame is also really good as well! read more

Wow! So we ordered Togo on a Wednesday night an hour before their closing time. When we got back home to try the food everything was still piping hot and the noodles were amazing despite the fact that I had to travel over 30 mins to get back home. I tried the Fried Chicken ramen for myself and made the spicy level 7 and it sure was spicy and flavorful! The noodles were chewy the way I like it (still impressed since we took it Togo). The chicken was not as crispy as it would have been at the restaurant but it was still good! I also got to try the broth of the Koi ramen and thought it was AMAZING! It was rich and flavorful ordered at a level 5 spicy. I think next time I go I would order this but at at level 7 spicy. No pictures since we were so hungry and we just ate straight out of the Togo containers. They packaged the noodles meat and soup separately but everything fit in the soup container. My go to is the spicy garlic edamame and gyozas to start, and for ramen the garlic bomb level 3 with extra green onions. Not only is the food delicious and always so incredibly fresh, but the service/personalities there are AMAZING!!! I've had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Kai, and it's evident that he is so passionate about going above and beyond for his guests. The food quality and quantity is amazing. I ordered a kids miso spicy level 2 with chicken wontons since I don't really eat pork. The substitution for chicken was convenient. The spicy edamame's are my new favorite item on the menu now my friend ordered them it was my first time trying. As for the spicy levels beware, 2-3 are up there on the scale. Let me just say, wow. The broth here is amazing. I got the Koi Ramen. Seriously, it's probably one of the best broths I've had and I've eaten my fair share of ramen in the US and Japan. The marinated egg (tamago) is also very good, I could eat five of these things and I'd still want more. The chasu is a bit lacking, but I can forgive that due to the broths richness making up for it. Karaage was also just okay, but it did not cost that much to add to my bowl so I am not upset. The gyoza is also good! Just wish it came with a dipping sauce. I got my order to go and it was packed very well. The cardboard piece they use at the bottom of the bag makes spilling less likely. This is a third of four that I've been to. It's smaller than the one in Torrance and the other on Hawthrone. We were sat by a nice lady who took our drink orders and took our ramen orders on a tablet. The ramen is pretty good from this company so there's no need for me to go into specifics. She and another girl brought our food which was really good.
