What a bummer to find out a ramen spot with a good reputation in Torrance opens up a weak location in a respectable + supportive town like pedro. Walking into this establishment, it's completely empty and boring. No decorations, nothing on the tables, just..empty. Service took way too long. From ordering to receiving our meal to getting the bill. The ramen was packed with so many spices and so much seasoning that the flavors were all over the place..and then the bill came. Offering to swap out a meat for another one to a customer without mentioning the price change is a flag right there but I really didn't mind, I mean, I get it. But then I received the bill, paid cash, and got ten dollars less that what I should have received. Then they tell me the calculator was wrong when I asked for my correct change lol. Let's get right to the food... delicious! Well maybe I should say my chashu (3* spicy) ramen was delicious, although I wish I had the 5* spicy but got talked down by the waitress. Still the flavor was excellent and the I ordered the chashu bowl to make it a set and that was tasty too. My wife had the garlic ramen and wasn't as impressed. She also had a set with the fried rice, which I tasted and that was yummy. My son just had gyoza and he gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up. Service was friendly and attentive. Great new ramen spot in San Pedro, gone 2x, gotten 2 things and enjoyed them both. The garlic bomb ramen was incredible, the broth was rich and tasty and the pork was tender and tasty. Today I had the fried chicken curry ramen and i loved it. Medium spicy and it definitely helped clear the sinuses without being overbearingly hot. I'd like to preface this by saying the ramen is usually spot on here. Our first experience was fantastic, such amazing flavors in the broth. Subsequent visits were less exciting. If you're looking for great broth, this is the place to go. Unfortunately there aren't many toppings and the noodles can be a tad too soft. For our most recent order today, we got the chashu ramen and garlic bomb with extra chashu. The pork was so overcooked (or improperly cooked??) that I couldn't even bite it. I paid extra for pork that I can't even eat it was so tough. Broth today was a little more vinegary than usual, but I can almost forgive that. Maybe the cook was having a bad day... Will likely try again another time, was just disappointing today. read more

So is the curry one and honestly, i always regret when I get the garlic bomb and but crave the curry. When I get curry but crave the garlic bomb, I regret it. It's a no win situation. This review is strictly for customer service. We went mid day and there was no one in the restaurant. We asked to sit outside and the server said go first and he'll come out with menu. We sat outside for 5 mins waiting then I turned around to look inside the restaurant and see the server sitting down at a table just talking on his cellphone. This immediately prompted us to get up and leave because that's just the first indication of how bad the service could be and ruin our dining experience. It's located on a street with other eateries so poor service is not going to cut it here. We just walked across the street to eat elsewhere. EDIT: Just looked at their page and saw that our server actually was Kai, the manager/owner. Very shocking that management/owner treated his customers this way. read more

Can I just say .... YUM?? I decided to get their food to go this evening because it has been chilly outside. I haven't had ramen in a hot minute and Ko Ryu just blew me away. I personally ordered the vegetable ramen with veggie miso and it was so delicious. There was so much flavor in each and every bite. I ordered ramen, gyoza and a matcha latte from here through Uber eats. I was happy with the delivery fee and the time it took to prepare my order. My food arrived hot which was a major plus. Unfortunately everything was average. The ramen was just okay. The broth was whatever and I didn't care for the noodles. The broth wasn't rich enough for me. The gyoza was pretty good but I didn't see the proper sauce for it. The matcha latte was a complete bust. It tasted like nothing but milk. I didn't even finish it. Would I come here again? Most likely no. I care for Zabon's noodles a lot more and the gyoza there is excellent. I may come here in a pinch but there's too many better ramen places out there. read more

The food was perfect to my liking! I walked in with my little ones and every girl I saw working greeted us & said hi personally to each of us, awesome! I then began to order with Haiti's (hope I'm spelling it correctly) help. Every question I had she answered, & even threw in personal suggestions, which was amazing because I'm very indecisive when it comes to food, and she knew what she was talking about. Let me start of my food review by saying the pork buns are AMAZING, light and flavorful. We also got the pork fried rice with suggestion and it was packed with right amount of meat, and it was so good. We also got the spicy ramen with added chicken, Torikara Don, & a passion green tea. Perfect setting for some one-on-one time due to the main arrangement of the seating. The menu invites you into the culture with a front cover guide on ramen etiquette. Reading the simple steps helped me better cherish my delicious ramen. The menu then helps you easily navigate the diverse selection with photos and concise descriptions. All the servers enriched the experience with their attentiveness and warmth. The rich miso base leaves you craving more spoonfuls of the broth. The overall experience was excellent. I ordered online for curbside pick-up, and everything was quick, accurate, and delicious. And what little contact I had was friendly and courteous. I enjoyed all 3 of the ramen, and while I would order any of them again, I'm excited to try the other combinations and broths. Fried Chicken Curry Ramen with Level 1 had a great flavor - both the curry broth and the chicken. Next time I might add more chicken, but this was definitely a filling meal as it. The Chanpon didn't necessarily have a lot of seafood but with the noodles, cabbage, bean sprouts, and yellow onions - it was a tasty and massive dish of food. The Wonton Ramen with Shoyu broth was also very tasty. It was nice to have the mix of wonton and noodles. Next time I might add some veg to it. The Pan Fried Gyozas were a little plain on their own, but if you use the soy sauce or chili oil, it perks things up. The Pork Shumai were large and very tasty on their own. The Chicken Karage was not quite what I expected - but I enjoyed them. I think this might be same as the Fried Chicken in the curry ramen? The packaging was great. No spillage; everything was labelled that needed to be; and the extra cardboard support in the bag was super smart. read more

This ramen definitely hit the spot on a cold day! We bring our pup with us everywhere, and luckily they had outdoor seating (some places are surprisingly not friendly towards dogs- yes even in Southern California). It was quite chilly and staff ensured the heat lamp was on full blast. The service was prompt and hospitable. And of course the ramen was mouthwateringly delicious. I ordered the garlic bomb with spicy miso (level 1) and it had the right amount of kick. Ordering a low spice level could often mean you douse it with more sriracha to make up for the lack of kick.. but damn this was perfect. You know it's good when you continue thinking about it hours/days later lol. When I'm back in town I will certainly hit this place up again! read more
