Came in Koalatea for the first time, after passing by on numerous occasions. As we arrived we made our way to the back hoping to find parking, and ended up finding their small parking lot in the back. My girlfriend and I looked over the menu and I inquired about the different between the Brown Sugar Latte and the Okinawa Milk Tea. As those were the 2 that I was interested in, to which she noted the Latte coffee based and the other black tea based. And just FYI for the reason I asked, is because I'd had an Okinama milk tea drink at another location, but it was more of a dessert type of milk tea, with a whipped cream topping and oreo. So I wasn't sure if it was that type of drink, and or similar with other locations just adding a fancy spin on theor version. Ordered: Okinawa Milk Tea with Boba Coco puff with crushed Oreos Strawberry Mango Tango with Rainbow Jelly The young lady at the register informed us that they were out of black Boba and it would be anout an hr before they had more ready. But she also mentioned that there was enough for 1 drink but not enough for a standard, so she'd not charge us for the half amount.. which I thought was really nice of her. Overall: Great brown sugar milk tea, aka the Okinama Milk tea. I really enjoyed it and it was really nice for that staff member. To have offered the remaining Boba they had and to not charge us since it wasn't a full order. The other two drinks my girlfriend and son said they enjoyed as well. Koalatea looks like a small house that was converted into a boba shop. Sadly, I was not impressed by their drinks. I got the Okinawa milk tea and my husband got the jasmine milk tea. The milk teas did not have a strong tea flavor. It felt like I was mostly drinking milk with a hint of tea. The boba didn't seem fresh either. At least half of the bobas in our drinks were hard and unappetizing. Maybe we got an old batch of boba. For $6-7 per drink, I would go elsewhere. read more

We ended up going to Koala tea on December 19th. The shop was not busy when we arrived which was around 4:30 p.m. . Also that day it was raining which probably deterred a lot of folks from being out and about. We did see a lot of mobile orders being created while we were there so that was cool. The shop itself is super cute and quaint. It looks like it's a converted house. So it definitely felt homey when you were there. The person behind the counter was very sweet. They greeted us promptly when we arrived and asked us if we had any questions about the menu. We asked generally what were their most popular items and they directed us towards the menu on the right side of the shop My friend decided to just get a fresh fruit tea that was passion fruit and I decided to try the Oolong black tea with milk and boba. For both of us the flavors were definitely there when it came to the fruit, and the boba, but we did not get a lot of the tea flavor. For myself and my friend we definitely like to taste the teas used for our drinks. That was the one main thing that was a call out for both of us. There's a one way entrance to their parking lot from Elk Grove Florin or you can go down the alley on the other side of the restaurant. Their parking lot is cramped, and I happened to stop in at a busy time where the lot was full and everyone was trying to leave at the same time. It was a little stressful. The actual restaurant is very cute and they have a good variety of drink options. I opted for a coconut Vietnamese coffee and it was very good. My absolute favorite boba shop to go to. Their boba always tastes so good and their drinks are so refreshing and addictive. My favorite drink is the hibiscus breeze, but unfortunately they are discontinuing it. It may come back as a seasonal flavor but for now they have the drink until supplies lasts. I love their coffee too! Their Vietnamese coffee always energizes me throughout the day. The workers are always super friendly and accommodating, and when it's busy they're always apologetic about the wait. It's a small boba shop across from the Elk Grove Library. When entering, make sure to drive slowly and pull in from the front. (it's easy to miss the turn) If you do miss it, since it's a short one-way street, you can enter through the salon next door, or you can circle around the block on Southside Ave and make a right onto Melrose Ave. That will take you to the back of the plaza where the parking lot is located. Customer service is excellent here. They're super sweet and friendly. If you ever feel flustered with drink decisions, they're always there to ask for help and to offer what's best for you. I personally prefer their fruit drinks over the milk ones. In my opinion, the fruit drinks are definitely the standout here. The drink tasted very good overall, although it was a bit too milky for my taste. They serve it in these ADORABLE Koala cups, so I had no complaints!! I ordered for me and my family and got to try an Oreo smoothie, mango smoothie, fruit tea, Thai tea twister, and their signature koalatea (Thai tea with matcha). My favorites were the Thai tea twister and fruit tea! The drinks have adjustable sweetness levels like most boba shops and I personally like mine a little less sweet. Inside is cute with koala everything! The drop ceilings made me feel a little claustrophobic though. We ordered the #12 (Hulk) and #5 (Ube Strawberry). I enjoyed the Hulk drink A LOT. Saturday, 4/08/2023 - Saw Koala Tea Boba and decided to check them out. They are at the corner of Elk Grove Florin Road and Elk Grove. Address is 9620 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624. Parking is in the back of building. There is an entrance through the back as well as the front. They have a cute little area to take photos. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) lots of parking. Again, parkigg lot is in the back of building. 2) there's front and back entrance into the restaurant. 3) menu are all posted inside. 4) you can order at the window or use the kiosk. We went to the window. 5) we got a strawberry smoothie with Boba. Delicious!! We can taste the strawberry flavor. Boba was perfectly cooked. Not hard and not too mushy. 6) the guy at the window that helped us was very nice. 7) there's a flower board you can take a picture at. And there's a large koala stuffie you can take a picture with.
