Called Kitchen Aid bc my oven isn't working. They told me Via and Koam are two kitchen aid / whirlpool certified techs in my area. They also told me Via has a $139 diagnostic fee while Koam has a $99 diag fee. I called to get a written estimate just for the diagnostic fee so that I could provide to my home warranty company and they refused to provide. All I needed was an email so that I could get it approved before scheduling the service. The lady cut me off several times and refused to let me speak. She then told me my diagnostic fee is $149 instead of the $99 Kitchen Aid told me. I told her kitchen aid told me the price and she said it's not updated. I wouldn't recommend them. Seems like they got certified, told KitchenAid their pricing to undercut VIa, and then switch the pricing when a customer calls. And then refuses to provide it in writing. read more

Our LG refrigerator freezer stopped making ice. We checked all the usual things and couldn't get it working. We checked the freezer temp and it was 20 degrees when normally it is about -2 degrees. We called KOAM on Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm. We learned that there was a service person nearby that was finishing another job. He was able to get to our house within 30 minutes. The service person took his shoes off at the door, laid out blankets to protect our hardwood floors and used a protective panel under the refrigerator when he moved it. He diagnosed the problem very quickly. He said that if the temp in the freezer is too warm, the ice make turn off. The actual problem was the evaporator was leaking refrigerant, so it needed to be replaced. He had one on the truck, so he was able to replace it in a little over an hour. The service person was very fast and efficient. We removed all the food in the refrigerator and he removed all the shelves and drawers and back panel. I didn't know it came apart so easily. We were able to thoroughly clean all the shelves and drawers before he reassembled the inside. It looks and run like a new appliance. The labor cost was a lot higher than expected, but in the whole scheme of things, it was worth it. I think the service person completed the job in half the time as any other service person could have done. If we didn't get it fixed so quickly, some of the food in the freezer and refrigerator may have gone bad, or I would have needed to get a lot of ice to keep the food cold over the weekend. That would have been a big hassle. Plus, the service person finished at 4:00 pm and we were have a dinner party at 6:00 pm. I think we really lucked out getting a service person so quickly, but KOAM really saved the day. read more

Our LG fridge from Costco had an issue literally 2 years after purchase. I called LG and they asked for receipts to show purchase from Costco. LG normally has 1 year warranty but Costco offers 2 years when purchased through Costco. LG sucks and they cancelled my appointment last minute because they said it was out of warranty and to go through Costco. I called Costco concierge and they handled everything and set it up with KOAM Home Appliance Repair. KOAM then reached out to me promptly and scheduled me for the next day at 9am. Their technician came right away in the morning and replaced the faulty part. Took him about 30 minutes. Cleaned up everything too. So punctual and professional. Great company!!! read more

Stay away from them. No professionalism at all. He came to fix our laundry washer 3-4 times. Instead of fixing it properly, he lectured us not to use too much or too less load as if we are not aware of it. He fixed the wire problem by using a tape. We used a different service 4th time. Still, the issue with drain continued. We called whirlpool and they set another appointment with KoAM again. KoAM called us and said since we used different company last time, they recommend us to use the same company and cancelled our appointment and the lady kept on arguing and giving more excuses for not coming. Maytag scheduled a warranty repair for KOAM to come in the afternoon as I work in the mornings. The lady from KOAM said they couldn't help me because they don't do repairs in the afternoon. That is terrible especially since Maytag arranged the repair and I said to the Maytag person that I can only have service in the afternoons. They said that was fine and scheduled with KOAM saying they could do it. The woman from KOAM was rude to say the least. If I could give a negative rating I would. Avoid this place. OMG, in my opinion one of the best honest appliance vendor/ technician . Labor charge affordable and LESS than the others. Just had serviced today- 1/24/24 I was informed by another technician over the phone that my LG fridge could have a compressor problem. This would have cost me a LOT! over 1 k for labor/ service from other vendor/ technician. The compressor could have been covered by LG- 10 year parts warranty- The labor/ install that other vendor/ technicians charge for over 1 k!! Apparently this work service is work intensive and not many want to do unless over 1 k. Needless to say, it turned out not a compressor fridge problem. Happy ending. The service / visit charge was LESS for the diagnostic / visit compared to what others charge $100- 150 So if anyone reads this review- if you have an LG fridge ( and other brands). Our LG refrigerator conked out on Wednesday. Tried to diagnose / fix it using LG's "Smart Diagnosis" feature. Wow that feature is terrible. Gave up and filled out a service request with Koam after 4:30 pm on Thursday (they close at 5:00 pm) and didn't expect to hear anything back from them until the next day. Well, Gina emailed me around 7:00 pm asking for model / serial number of the refrigerator and promised to call me "first thing in the morning". Koam opens at 8:00 am. As my iPhone flashed from 7:59 to 8:00 on Friday morning the phone rang. It was Gina! She scheduled a tech to come out later that day no problem. Tech (James) arrived as scheduled and even had a compressor with him (because LG). One hour later he was packed up and gone. Later that evening we checked our refrigerator and all was cold with the world again. What terrific service! Responsiveness, scheduling, compressor replacement! All top notch. LG compressor was under warranty (free!) but we had to pay for the labor ($450). Gina and James were both very up-front about the labor cost so it was no surprise. Completely worth it! She told me it was my responsibility to contact my insurance co and get another repairer. I said it was not my reponsibility to do their job. The icemaker on our Maytag refrigerator stopped working, but we were covered by our home warranty (through New Leaf Services). We contacted our warranty company, and they referred us to an authorized Maytag service center. KOAM responded to the service call, and were extremely professional. They scheduled a next-day appointment, came promptly on time (and called in advance to let me know they were coming), and fixed the issue without any problems. The icemaker was completely nonfunctional and had to be replaced, but they handled everything without any charge (since everything was under warranty). Thank you KOAM! Our LG refrigerator (under warranty) was not keeping freezer at set temp. After several frustrating attempts to find a local company to service this brand and/or replace the compressor under said warranty, I called LG USA and was told a local service company would be contacting me. I no sooner hung up than I was called by KOAM to schedule an appointment. They offered a same day service call which was not convenient for us so Gina said she would call first thing the next day to schedule. I was called at 7:50 the next morning, the technician came at 8:40, the compressor replacement was completed at 9:50, and I was told there was no charge as all was under warranty! The tech was quick, efficient, and worked very cleanly. To say I was pleased would be an understatement. Very fast and professional. Some cosmetic chips had happened to our new LG refrigerator, and the manufacturer sent koam to our house to replace the damaged part. They were fast and professional. On entering the house he changed his work shoes to indoor sandals. The repair professional was kind and courteous. He even left me the old part because it wasn't in bad condition, and explained that I could keep it if my new one got damaged. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! I know the old adage...people only come to review when they are upset or extremely happy. I don't fit that mold; I often write reviews for companies that are just so-so. If this company had even been so-so, that would have been wonderful. The tech that came to my home did not seem to know what he was doing. My freezer door gasket was torn. He installed a new gasket on the door, but it sagged and did not fit snugly. He insisted it was because the door was bowed (which it is clearly not). I then asked him what the solution was, and he shrugged and said, I think everything is ok as it is. So a torn gasket is ok? His office called after he left and said you should probably contact LG because we have done everything we can do. And the woman also said, 'you live in a condo building, which is too hard for us to get in and out of.' What??!! A few hours later, I did a simple web search and discovered that if you just rub a magnet over the gasket, it will re-magnetize it so it fits snugly. So, the LG 'certified' tech did not know this?! Long story short, there are many other great repair companies out there. Don't waste your time with these people. read more

They diagnosed the probably problem over the phone and made sure they had the part when they came to repair my washer. When they came, they were courteous and honest. In addition to the drain pump issues for which they were called, the repairman noticed a lot of rust and issues with the washer. Long story short, they only charged me the service fee of $89 and I will need to look for a new washer. They are very professional and clean. My LG washer displayed an error that I was unable to correct. This happened on a Sunday evening. I emailed KOAM around 6pm expecting a Monday response. I had 3 rounds of email exchange until 10pm ON A SUNDAY! The service was scheduled for Tuesday (on Monday morning). Unbelievable excellent service! I have never had a better experience with an appliance company in my life. We came home from vacation to a 2014 LG fridge with a compressor that I believed had failed. I spoke with Gina at KOAM at 9am and by 10am the service technician was at the house verified the problem. He had an OEM updated replacement part with him (which they had LG cover under warranty) , and by 11:45am the fridge was fixed and recharged with coolant! Amazing service! I called LG customer service because my fridge stopped working- they said that someone will call me back to set up the time. 15 minutes later I received a call from Koam appliance repair who picked up the request from LG and said that the technician will be at my house that same day. The technician arrived on time, fixed my fridge (he replaced the evaporator under the warranty), left his card and said that if we will have any problems to call him back. I got lucky! The Extended Warrenty policy I purchased from H H Gregg (yeah, i know....) has sent me a stream of Appliance Repair companies who have tried to fix my new fridge. None were able to diagnose the problem nor fix it properly. Every one of them told me it was a different problem with my new refrigerator. The first guy actually blame the problem on my kids. But after they left, the problem would happen again and I would have to call the extended warranty company yet again. Finally, KOAM came to my rescue! Gina let me know that based on the age of my LG refrigerator (built in 2009) she recommended against coming out to service it and we would be better off getting a new one (based on the issue of it not freezing ice and not maintaining the correct temperature in the freezer [it was at 23 F vs. -4 F setpoint).
