Don't hire this contractor, terrible expertise! I contracted them to repair my freezer, which wasn't freezing correctly. They claimed it was because the door wasn't positioned correctly. They fixed the door, now a few months later I have the same problem of the freezer not freezing. I called a different company and have identified a different cause. I don't know if it will fix the problem, but what I do know is DMV Pro Tech did not fix it. Definitely not worth the time and money. read more

Hire at your own peril. The tech, and I use that term lightly, was at my house four times and my refrigerator/freezer still does not work. I could not possibly offer a stronger recommendation than DMV PRO TECH for appliance repair. My fridge and freezer stopped working, and I woke up to a melted mess. I called early in the morning and Maseeh made sure to make time to come to my home, diagnose the issue and replace the faulty part. He's not only responsive but is super nice. I have called DMV ProTech twice in the past couple years, once for my washer/dryer at home and once for the refigerator at my rental TH. Both time they did an excellent job, showed up on time, diagnosed problem right away and fixed it the first time. These people are professional, honest and very reasonable! Watch out if you go through one of those protection service companies, i.e. AHS, etc. to have this folks or any other provider do the repair because they will do everything to not authorize the service! Avoid at all cost. We had them out for a dryer repair through our AHS warranty and the tech was rude short and contradicted himself 3 times. He kept changing "the issue" saying it was the exhaust, and when told it was just redone and cleaned, then said everything was working fine. He refused to listen when we tried talking to him interrupting us and saying we were wrong. When the towel he "tested" with came out wet, he said the dryer was working fine and walked out. Do not use this company! I used this service provider through my AHS warranty for a broken water dispenser on my refrigerator. The owner claimed the dispenser broke due to "excessive force," which is completely inaccurate and unsupported. The paddle failed from normal deterioration of the plastic after years of regular use with water exposure. When I called to understand the reasoning behind the claim of excessive force, the owner stated that the paddle had to be pressed to operate. Of course, using the paddle as intended--to dispense water--is normal wear and tear. Despite this, he refused to make a proper assessment, even though AHS required him to provide an evaluation either way. He was rude, made unfounded claims, and his unwillingness to do his job resulted in my main refrigerator component not being fixed. This was an unprofessional and unethical experience. I do not recommend this company, with or without a warranty. read more

Refrigerator repair (lost all cooling). Via, my AHS warranty, the tech was excellent. What we (I was there observing-talking with him) thought was the compressor. He noted he'd check the capacitor first. And he was correct. Gave me several tips to maintain efficiency. read more

Was sent here by AHS. He claimed he couldnt work on it because the last AHS vender added an attachment so he could add frion. He doesnt want to touch it. When I asked him to call AHS he didn't explain it well to them, the woman didnt undersand. The last vender told us it was added so that anyone could use it to fill freon. The tech from DMV PRO TECH LLC told us that they dont repair these. When I asked if i could speak to the AHS person he was on the phone with he refused to let us. We lost $10k worth of medicine that was in the fridge. He didnt seem to care. I would stear clear if they get assigned to you. They will find ANYTHING to get out of fixing it. He didnt even bother to explain to us why he couldnt touch it, and what wasn't done correctly. read more

This company was assigned by American Home Shield to fix a broken burner on my cook top. The tech tried cleaning it and said he needed to order a part. The part showed up and the replacement part didn't fix it. He fiddled with the burner a bit more and left, saying he would need to order a replacement. A few days later I got a message from him saying that he wasn't a factory authorized repairman and AHS would need to reassign the call to someone who was. When that tech, from a different company, showed up he said the burner would need to be replaced but he couldn't do it because of damage done by this company. So, bottom line is, not only couldn't DMV Pro Tech not fix my stove but they made it so that nobody else could either. read more

Story worth reading - happy ending. Sears Kenmore 111.73025713 refrigerator, less than two years old, bottom freezer working top refrigerator no cold air circulation from below. Sears tech came out on 31 May, and said , based on visual, it needed a Refrigerator Air Duct Assembly $384. Never dissembled anything. After 45 days without a refrigerator and many calls to Sears was told by Sears the part #30114-0020604-00 was no longer available. Remember this is a two year old refrigerator purchased from Sears. "Too. bad too sad," Ordered a new refrigerator from COSTCO. $1,500 "John" from DMV Pro Tech arrived on 13 July 2023 and immediately determined the fan for the refrigerator, located in the bottom freezer section, was frozen as a result of condensation. He actually took apart the panel to diagnose the problem. Melted the ice around the frozen fan and back in operation. "Happy Dance." Many promises by Sears to get back to me with updates "within 72 hours" after initially escalating my problem. Not a single update from Sears. Sears did not inform me that the refrigerator was actually covered under a two year extended warranty; apparently I did not contact the right department. Initially I was annoyed that Sears Warranty Department was dispatching someone from DMV Pro Tech to determine what had already been reported by the Sears employee on 31 May 2023. Apparently, Sears does not have confidence in their own folks. Post Happy Dance: Requested and received several business cards from John which I will share with my friends and neighbors. Will also tape one to the back of the refrigerator. Looking for a way to put a positive spin on this sordid mess I determined I lost 10 pounds living out of a tiny college dorm refrigerator in the interim. Also met John and watched a master technician, with outstanding customer skills, display pride and professionalism in his work. Thank you John and DMV. read more

Terrible. This company was assigned by American Home Shield to fix my dishwasher. They showed up, evaluated and ordered a part. No further communication. Finally, after several weeks, I tried to contact the company by phone, over several days, no one ever answered ("mailbox is full"). They also did not respond to my online query. Terrible service. They completely blew me off. Finally, American Home Shield called me and advised that they were reassigning to a new company. I would stay away from this company. read more

I've used DMV Pro Tech to repair 3 appliances in my home. John is professional, knowledgeable, conscientious and easy to work with. When I raised a concern about my refrigerator, he was honest and told us that there was no repair needed, that we could simply adjust settings on the fridge. A DMV Pro Tech service person came in response to a service request I put in with American Home Shield. He did not listen to a single word I said to him. He kept interrupting me (actually cutting me off!) with "Doesn't matter" - the age of the unit, the temp setting I was using, etc. I was trying to explain that the fridge had been working fine at temp setting 2 for 16 years, but a few days ago everything in the freezer started to thaw (and the fridge side was also warmer) - so I set it at the lowest setting (4) and it got cold again. I still wanted someone to look at it. His response to this? Well, he never really heard or understood it, because he interrupted me several times with "Doesn't matter." He was literally dismissing the details and dismissing ME. So I told him to leave - if what was actually happening with the unit didn't matter and he wasn't listening to me anyway, then there was no reason to have him in my home. read more

I was assigned DMV Pro Tech from my American Home Shield warranty as the previous contractor was unable to improve the freezing ability (low temps) of my freezer. John showed me the issue as only the lower coils were freezing and mentioned that prior shortcuts by simply adding Freon were futile as the filter needed replacement. He advised that it was an hour-long job and he quickly/efficiently went to work and did the job right. It's been working right ever since. A few weeks later I requested this contractor by name for my washer that didn't properly cycle and again, he needed to order the part and it was complex work that I could not do myself as he fixed the problem and also found the front retaining straps were broken and replaced them. read more
