The strangest, most bizarre experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I'll start by saying the food is at best slightly below-average. But the overall vibe of the restaurant is so, so weird and off-putting we almost left as soon as we sat down - and I wish we had. Nobody else there, complete silence. Our server was rude, and was constantly throwing out awkward and passive-aggressive remarks the entire meal. All culminating in "please tip me, please tip me" as she handed out each check. This on top of standing over the 18-year old while he finished signing his check to make sure he tipped, before grabbing it off the table before he could even set the pen down. Since COVID, life has been quite different. I am trying to find a quality Japanese restaurant in Moncks Corner. I finally found one. I feel in love with their handmade Spicy Tuna Roll. Delicious. This place has gone down DOWN! I ordered the lomein w jumbo shrimp in it. I'm not even certain that it was actual meat..I was not giving it to my kid. When I called the restaurant to let them know that is NOT what I ordered and I've never gotten that before, she said "this the kind we use now" And that is fine but let the customer know that it's not what you normally serve, STOP calling it jumbo because that's a lie and adjust your prices accordingly. I liked at the "shrimp" so many times and not one did ir resemble a shrimp. Definitely lost several customers today. I cannot wait to show my coworkers and church family! I'm so disgusted. read more

I don't know if this restaurant was called something else before, but, I couldn't find it on Yelp. So, as far as I know it hasn't been added before this. I had sushi. It was not bad. I am always a little hesitant when eating sushi in a new place. I have encountered some sushi that made me spit it out. The sushi here is pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. The best thing about it is that it is just a few minutes from where I live. It was not that busy. Could be that the location isn't ideal. It's kind of hidden. And I don't think many people would suspect that there is a restaurant with quality sushi in Moncks Corner. I'd be interested to know what other people (sushi fans) think of this place. read more

Personally, I think that the staff here are quite friendly. I've been here over five times individually and with groups during the past two years and I've only had positive experiences. I know some people feel uncomfortable with having such a young waitress but I think it's worth considering that it is a family business. I felt compelled to write this review because I think the previous ones leave a skewed impression. For what it's worth saying, coming from the city with a larger Asian population, I actually prefer Kobe over the other local Asian restaurants. I think that the sushi tastes fresher and cleaner. Given the limited number and selection of Asian/sushi restaurants in Moncks Corner, I'd say if you live in the area it's worth giving it a try! read more

It was awful, the first clue should have been when we walked in and there wasn't another customer. Granted it was fairly early on a Saturday evening. The only employee to be found was a 16ish year old girl up front. We looked at the menu and the typical sides of house soup and salad with ginger dressing were scratched off the "included" with meal and you had to order separately. No biggie, I usually like the soup so I ordered it, tuna roll, and the chicken and steak, my wife ordered the chicken and a cucumber roll. The soup was basically hot water with a few green onions thrown in there. I know it is typically a light soup but this had no flavor. The sushi wasn't terrible, we ate that. We got our entrees and it looked terrible. The "fried rice" was basically white rice turned grey with some soy sauce, the chicken and steak were rubbery, tasteless, and greasy. We took one or two bites and pushed our plates away. I would be willing to bet the meat was precooked and thrown into a greasy wok and heated back up. Don't go there, go to a more expensive hibachi place and enjoy your meal! read more
