We love this restaurant, but this last time we went to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday and we weren't even served our food for over one hour. However, they were accommodating and our server was great. I got the Kansas City bone in stake with an Oscars style softshell crab. The steak was perfectly cooked, however the softshell crab was not fried all the way through and was still juicy in the middle. My wife's potatoes were way overcooked as well. All in all about an hour and 20 minutes for us to receive our main course, but it was busy for a Wednesday due to a convention in town.

Everything was fantastic! Food, service, and ambiance all 5 stars. Our server Brandon was great! We started with a salad. Tip: you can get 1/2 sized salads! I got the 1/2 beet salad. It was great and it was still large enough I had to take half home. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes sides were excellent. What a great place, especially if you're celebrating a special occasion.

I ordered an omelette with grits. The omelette and grits came out so salty that we had to send the omelette back. There were multiple dogs inside of the establishment, which was strange for a nicer restaurant such as Halls. This is the third time we have been and honestly will be the last. On a positive note, our server was so sweet.

Hall's Chophouse - Summerville We dined at **Hall's Chophouse** and once again enjoyed a wonderful evening overall. We sat on the patio, which is always beautiful and such a great atmosphere, especially when the weather cooperates. Service was excellent from start to finish--attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly. Food-wise, everything was very good. Highlights included the dry-aged ribeye, bacon steak, and a grass-fed filet. We also got to try a special that night: **homemade cavatelli pasta in a truffle sauce**, which was absolutely delicious and a standout dish. Cocktails were solid as well--strong pours (the espresso martini definitely does not disappoint). There were a couple of minor issues worth noting. The scallops were just a tad overcooked--not bad, but noticeable at this level. Also, I ordered my lobster Oscar style, but the sauce was mistakenly placed on the filet instead. When I mentioned it, the staff was immediately willing to fix the error. I chose to just scoop the sauce over myself, but the willingness to correct it mattered just as much as the mistake itself and was very much appreciated. One thing Hall's does that I genuinely love is their birthday treatment. They automatically bring out complimentary champagne and dessert, which is a very kind gesture. The dessert is vanilla ice cream served with three types of cookies--chocolate chip, sugar, and double chocolate--with a candle. That said, I do have a small suggestion: sometimes guests already have a drink in hand, don't drink alcohol, or can't eat ice cream or sweets (dietary restrictions, diabetes, etc.). While the gesture is thoughtful, it might be even better to ask at the beginning whether guests would prefer a glass of champagne *or* a dessert, or let them choose a dessert from the menu. Asking upfront would make the experience feel more personalized and avoid any awkward pressure. It's also worth noting that Hall's is not pet friendly, even on the patio. However, I have seen that they do support certain pet shelters and animal-related causes, which I really appreciate--it's always nice to see businesses give back to the community in that way. My only real disappointment wasn't with the food or service in-house, but with communication outside the restaurant. I had emailed corporate some time ago and never received a response, which was surprising--especially as regulars, you expect the same high level of service across the board. I mentioned this to our server, who kindly took down my email again, but unfortunately, even a few days later, I still haven't heard back. That said, the food was delicious, the service on-site was top notch, and the patio experience remains one of the best in the area. Hall's continues to be a favorite for special occasions--we just hope the follow-through off the floor eventually matches the excellence they deliver at the table.

Halls Chophouse is an absolute standard of excellence, whether we're dining in Summerville, Charleston, or Columbia--and that consistency is exactly why it's been our go-to for the last several years. Every visit feels like a celebration, and it's where we return time and time again for birthdays, graduations, and our annual anniversary. Our must-haves never change because they're simply that good: the seafood tower is always fresh, indulgent, and beautifully presented; the calamari is perfectly crisp and seasoned; and the steaks are flawless. The New York strip and ribeye are consistently cooked to perfection--rich, tender, and full of flavor--while my husband swears by the prime rib, which never disappoints and sets the bar every single visit. Beyond the food, Halls delivers an experience. The service is warm, professional, and genuinely attentive, making you feel like a valued guest rather than just another table. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and welcoming, ideal for both special occasions and memorable nights out. Halls Chophouse isn't just a steakhouse for us--it's a tradition. And after years of exceptional meals and unforgettable celebrations, it's one we fully intend to continue for many years to come.

If you have the funds to spend this dining experience is worth it. They also have a very affordable lunch and brunch menu on the weekends if you want an experience more affordable. The service is amazing, they have a steak/meat board that they will bring to your table and explain the different steak options. I have eaten here a few times and the food and service have been exceptional each time.

Tried Halls Nexton for the first time in several years. Ate at the bar, off of the bar menu. Nice ambience, and a live band. I had the salmon salad. The salmon was amazing but the salad was loaded with onions. Hubby had the steak and truffle fries, which was outstanding. I had a glass of wine, but the pour seemed kind of scant, considering the price. Shared a slice of southern caramel cake, which was delicious! Staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a nice experience and we would return

Happy Heavenly Anniversary Sweetie What a Delicious Family celebration. Scrumptious Delicious Awesome food and service. The entire staff was amazing as was the food from appetizers to desserts. The evening was so special. Wonderful seating on the patio which was very quiet compared to the inside seating. A very nice dinner. Thank you Halls group.

Service is always impeccable, every employee makes you feel so welcome! Unfortunately, I forgot our waiter's name, but he was attentive and nice. Jumbo baked potato was indeed jumbo sized and it was perfectly cooked. I love to eat the skin and sometimes restaurants burn the bottom but this was perfect. Lump crab cake was full of flavor and the roasted corn salsa complemented it well. I'd eat this as a side! Salmon was cooked to my liking, fingerling potatoes buttery and tender. The chimichurri sauce went well with this. Scallops seared to perfection.

Our dinning experience was on 08/02/26. The food was great. Presentation was impeccable. The service was top notch like any high end restaurant should be. The restaurant was very nice and I especially love the decor and dark wood trim. I did have one issue I couldn't get over every time I seen it. There was a manager type lady who had regular soccer mom clothing on and helping out with bussing tables and asking how the meals were. My issue is: if you're a supervisor/manager, in an establishment where your staff has a dress code, you should definitely be appropriately dressed as well. NOT looking just like you walked off of a soccer field.

I read mixed reviews of Halls Summerville location and I can emphatically say go! Whatever bumps in service or staff there may have been in the past are gone. I've had the good fortune to sample top steak houses in DC, Chicago, Kansas City, Vegas, Dallas, Tokyo, Madrid, and Paris. Halls is among the best. From the moment we walked in we were greeted appreciatively by the manager, and got to meet the owner as he introduced himself mid meal to thank us for coming. Halls delivers a level of dining service that is top tier; everyone was professional, attentive, and appropriately engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed Halls' fine dining experience, including a well set linen table with salad and dinner forks, and butter and dinner knives. Our table was completely reset after our appetizer course, with new silverware and dishes laid for dinner. All of this was done without undue fussiness, it was just the Halls way. But that's just the dining framework. The food was the superlative star. Our waitress knowledgeably explained the Halls steak offerings, the cuts, treatments, and sourcing. We weren't novices, yet picked up new facts about the cuts and treatments that helped us make our choices. You may know that Wagyu beef is very expensive, but at Halls you may buy by the ounce. We did, so the 3 of us shared 3 oz as an appetizer, in addition to fried green tomatoes. This was an affordable way for us to sample this pinnacle steak, and we were well rewarded. I've had fried green tomatoes at a score of restaurants, and Halls' were the best I've ever had. They are sliced thinly, breaded lightly, and seasoned just perfectly. That's enough, but they come topped with a crab, shrimp, and bacon succotash that is fresh, delicious, and the perfect complement to the tomatoes. We chose dry-aged ribeye and tomahawk steaks, and they were like nothing we've had before, absolutely fantastic. You have to experience for yourself. Halls isn't a corporate chain, nor the cheapest dinner out. It is a fair value for their meticulously delivered experience and their excellence in sourcing the very best ingredients and preparing them with passion and precision. Indulge yourself, you'll be rewarded.

Thought I was going to a dive bar for a few drinks with my brother n law. Boy was I wrong in that thinking. High class steak & wine bar. We had raw oysters to start, which were clean, no sand, meaty & delicious. From there we all went in differed ways to sooth our hungry palates! A crab cake, a pork chop main, French onion soup salad their main & scallops. My scallops were over risotto, I was too full that I could hardly eat all the scallops, did taste risotto, was yummy . The soup got finished. We ended up with a pork chop in a doggy bag. The crab cake was also finished. Great place to go & lunch time, you can order off of the dinner menu also and share family style. Out waitress was sweet, had to listen though to get all of her words. Would definitely come back!

Halls Chop House is always a great time. It's one of my favorite spots for Sunday brunch with the girls or celebrating a birthday with a big group. They're incredibly accommodating and really go out of their way to make your experience feel special, no matter what you're celebrating. The drinks are always on point, the food never misses, and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. On top of that, the aesthetic is beautiful and the vibes are always immaculate. A go-to for celebrations and special occasions.

The facility was clean and well stocked. The quality of food is not worth the crowding or wait time that so many are subjected. As a single person party, I chose to find a seat at the bar. It was not overly large and was monitored by 2 servers. I was fairly quickly addressed to get my drink and I ordered a starter without prompting due to the number of patrons. Another sat beside me but she was overlooked for quite a bit of time, finally having to ask for a menu. Once my starter arrived, the okra basket, I was ignored. The okra was ok but nothing special, standard premade restaurant supply brand of thickish breading that was intermittently soft or crunchy. I was 1/4 way through the basket before I had a chance to request cutlery and seeing that the servers had started to focus only on the person next to me that they had initially overlooked, I also requested my entree. I had reviewed the menu prior to arrival and decided on my order in advanced. Unfortunately it was not available on the brunch menu and lunch was not an available option. I should have asked for the check at that time but selected an omelette instead. While waiting and consuming my starter, I requested a menu draft to be told it was unavailable too. The suggested alternative was decent. My entree arrived about 20 minutes later. It was dry, both the eggs and protein. I was able to request and receive a sauce in a short period of time. My refill did not need to be requested but it was incorrect so I did have to ask for another. I know the staff is most likely good, the popularity produced by the Travel Channel keeps them too busy and complacency is prevalent. I had hoped that the publicity did not change the uniqueness of the menu but I will trust my intuition in the future and continue to avoid these types of restaurants.

I would change the name because the name suggests they have oysters only and it turns out there is more, not a whole lot but enough for a non oysterholic to come in and have something to eat while you chug an ale or one of the shots with a slimy thing in it I got to try a shot of something that tasted like bloody Mary's mix with an oyster inside, I felt the slimy thing going down the hatch and later ordered a dozen or so oysters Parmesan, cooked taste a little like scallops, not bad and I could go back and try something else The calamari was ok, not as great as I can make them if I had a fryer with a thermostat, the batter was a little too thick and I tend to like them with a see through batter not a filler, it was crunchy ok but maybe a little overcooked and not a lot of people know that calamari should be flash fried for about a minute and if you go beyond that is like the Michelin man The place is fun and be prepared for a loud environment because it is small but go with an open mind and it is a nice different experience I will go back and try their fish and chips

The shrimp and flounder were nicely cooked without heavy breading. The hush puppies were weird. They were cooked but had almost a beer batter thick outside and the inside tasted almost like raw meal or flour. Tasted greasy but they were not visibly greasy. Since it's their namesake, one would think the hush puppies would be great. I couldn't eat them. The fries had batter on them. They were crispy. I prefer no batter on fries but for those who like that, you'd probably like them. Now the sauces: the tartar was too salty and was missing something that I couldn't figure out. The cocktail sauce was also too salty but did have a nice horseradish kick. There was something missing from it too that I couldn't put my finger on. Maybe it was just the salt overload messing it up. Overall the seafood itself was pretty good but the sides and sauces bring my review down.
