My mom and I have driven past Koble a number of times on our way out to Polaris, so one afternoon on our way home from shopping we decided to give it a try. I was immediately taken with the natural light coming in from the large windows and the wrap around bar. We went up to the counter and both ordered the spicy chicken gyro, a soft drink, and I got an almond baklava for dessert. I went to pick a booth for us, but the one I wanted had to two flies buzzing around. This was the only negative thing about our experience, bumping my review from a 5 star to a 4 star, as the flies eventually flew to the booth we ultimately chose. My mom loved the spicy chicken gyro, but I absolutely LOVED the almond baklava. It honestly tastes like heaven. I plan on going back to check out their bar and happy hour. I hate to write bad reviews but here it goes. Ordered the stuffed peppers at 5:45 pm. Waited 15 minutes to tell me that the kitchen was out. Offered me anything on the menu so I picked the steak, medium well. Ok, these things happen. Table after table gets served yet we don't even get our appetizer. Have to ask and it finally comes. Hurray. Then the steak comes and is so undercooked it is inedible. Boxing it up to take it and have the microwave do the cooking. Thinking the microwave will do a better job. I could give you lots of stories but this is best: my neighbor goes here at least once a week ever since they opened. My wife and I love Koble but couldn't review it because Yelp didn't know about it... so we submitted the listing. Guess we'll have to go back (oh no! (Sarcasm)) to take some pictures. They are still getting logistics worked out so once there was a pretty long wait for food (compensated with free dessert even through we hadn't complained) but generally it's fast, friendly service, and great food. They'd be my all time favorite if they had that Greek chili sauce that Californian Greek places serve. We went there for a dinner on a Sunday night and the place was not very busy. There are no servers and you have to go to the counter and order your food, which they will bring to your table. The problem is if we need anything we have to leave our table and go inside to get it and I had to do it three times. First time, they didn't give cutlery for all of us then next time to get ketchup and then again to get napkins papers. I wanted to love this place, and I was craving some good lamb chops, I received a coupon in the mail for this place, so I thought I would try it. I looked at the menu online and the Lamb chops were price with MP ( Market Price) so I called to get it and they said $28 that's not too bad so I decided to head over. If you have never been here before, there are a few things in this review that will help. First you don't sit and be waited on, you order your food and then go to your table. The disadvantage of this is refilling your own drink at the coke freestyle machine plus its just not the traditional style of dining, but sadly, their prices reflex a mid tier sit-down dining experience. The wait was short, and the front-line employees were great. I ordered my salad that came with my lambchops without olives or peperoncinis. I ordered Saganaki (delicious flaming cheese), the lambchops, and their Termisu. The flaming cheese was yummy and a great small show. See pics attached. My table had food all over the floor and was right next to the fireplace. I felt a little close. My meal that was delivered was the things I ordered plus a huge Greek salad. I asked why the salad, and he said idk it was on the check, but your chops come with one he immediately adjusted the check, which I appreciated. The salad with the chops had olives and peperonchinis, so that request was missed. I have had some of the most amazing Lambchops on a cruise once, and these were just ok. One of them did not even have the bone part you hold. The rice had like an old or sour aftertaste, and the Termisu was really just ok. The lady fingers were not soaked enough, and everything except the cheese was just lacking general flavor sadly. The bathrooms were clean, and the staff were great. While I was sitting there, another customer was carrying her fries and said they came out cold if they could be refried. I'm not surprised my rice was kinda cold, too, but I didn't eat any of it because of the weird aftertaste. I may or may not return the Gyros may be better, but to spend 50.00, I definitely expect more from a restaurant. Final tip I saw if you sit at the bar, your water is refilled, and you get a glass, not a plastic throw-away cup. Love the food. I haven't had a bad experience with their food. One thing you must know if you come here is that you order your food and then sit down and they bring it out to you. They will get your dishes for you but it is not exactly a traditional restaurant. But if you're looking for that type of thing, you can sit at the bar and get full service there. The inside of the store is really nice and they have a lot of tvs. They have a really nice wrap around patio with big tvs out there as well. All I can say is wow! The food at this restaurant is so good, hot, and fresh every single time. My friend first took me to the Pinini Ompa and I loved it! so she told me that a new restaurant was opening in Powell. I was excited to find out it was Koble Grill right up the street from my home. I am going here every other day! The food is healthy and good. the service is spectacular, kind nice people every time. I keep forgetting to take pictures of my entree due to I am eating it as soon as I get into the house LOL! don't want to take picture of half eaten meal. So today I ordered the salmon (which is real Salmon, not that farm raised junk that many restaurants be serving now days, rice pilif, and lemon Potatoes, and hummus! Last time I came to Kobles I walked away wishing I had just ordered a Gyro. So, cue a quick return trip. This time I paid cash (and left the change). And this time I ordered a Spicy Gyro and fries. The food (again) took a little longer to arrive than desired. The gyro was massive and wrapped in foil. I was able to consume it without spilling out half the ingredients... Which surprised me. The gyro was simply amazing. Probably the best I've had ever. The pita bread was excellent, very fresh and flavorful. There was plenty of meat and veggies. The fries were perfectly cooked. Slightly smaller than most (but not shoestring) these were crispy on the outside, hot and tender inside and oh so flavorful. If I was basing this on the food alone it would be five stars for tonight's visit. My helpful hint: On your first visit get the gyro. If you're a light eater, get the kids version. Try the fries. That will establish a baseline of what Kobles can do. Next time I'll try one of their meals... If I don't get seduced by the allure of the gyro... read more

We stopped here on Sunday afternoon, as we had been out all morning running errands and felt like a late lunch would be pleasant. We had driven by this place a few times over the last few weeks and it always seemed very busy, so as the lunch rush was probably over, we figured it would be a good time to give it a try. Once inside we were able to quickly place our orders. I requested the Calamari Fritti and the Village Salad. Theresa asked for the Spicy Gyro. We also got an iced tea and a bottle of water. We took a seat and checked out the interior of the place. It is fairly new to the area and everything still looked bright and shiny. After a short wait our lunch was served and the food was very good. The salad I ordered had just the right amount of feta cheese included to the vegetables, Gyro meat and dressing to make the whole dish tasty. The calamari was good but not great. Theresa's Gyro was also very good. We liked how this place has some nice outdoor seating and a very full bar. We now understand why this place is always so crowded at night! Really wanted to like this place. Super average. There were 5 of us and we ordered pasta, and gyros, and a panini. The pasta was flavorless, both the chicken and the meatball version. The gyro meat on the panini and gyro was not fresh. The fries were cold. The best part of the restaurant is the atmosphere. Maybe grab a drink, but absolutely go elsewhere for food. Koble Greek & Italian Grill Powell Ohio Powell is lucky to have old friends and family return with great food and location! We were so glad to see the former managers of Powell's Easy Street Restaurant return to the area with their second location of Koble (other is in Westerville). We have visited a few times since they have reopened and this location is amazing! Most recently we organized a gathering for our departing neighbors there and it was a hit. Their bar area is large, friendly and welcoming, while they have several sitting areas (really two but feels like 3) where you can sit near food service like a quick grill lunch stop, or over by the fireplace in a more enclosed area that is cozier, and finally they have a great outdoor patio. During the day the interior is bright and energetic, while the evening is casually lit and you can find a good spot with peace and quiet or high energy. Staff and Management is super friendly and fun (as Easy Street used to be)! Day to day you order at the counter and have a seat to await delivery of food. You can order at the bar too. They have a good selection of draft beers(e.g. Great Lakes Pale Ale or Land Grant Kolsch), wine, and a fully stocked bar. As for food, it is so good. Start with the fresh hummus or meatballs. Both are amazing. I would highly recommend the Lamb or Chicken Gyro as a reliable go to for a quick lunch or dinner. We also love the Italian Flatbread, Spciy Chicken Gyro, but our new favorite is the Pasticio(Pasticcio). This is similar to a lasagna but lighter with lots of flavor. Meat, Parmcheese, and a 'Bechamel' sauce. Bartender/Owner recommended it and it was great! Besides the new building, Koble in Powell, brings back the traditional gathering place that everyone loved with Easy Street years ago, and the food, service, atmosphere is even better. We used to eat at Panini Opa when we lived closer by. Had no idea that Koble was it's sister restaurant until we received something in the mail. Ordered carry out tonight and it was the same excellent food we loved from Panini Opa, just in a larger restaurant we look forward to visiting in the future. Very nice decor and inviting atmosphere with enough seating at the bar and booths. However, whatever we ordered was overly salty! From the calamari to the smelts to the gyros... tongue twisting salty. The gyros came overloaded with salty toppings like feta cheese and way too many banana peppers which all added to the already salty gyro meat. Not appetizing at all. The breading on the calamari was good but again salty after a few bites while the calamari was a bit overdone. The fried smelts were salty too. Amazing food! I haven't had anything here that I haven't liked!! Their fries are amazing, try dipping them in their garlic sauce.

Let me start this off with a review of the food, which was downright delicious. My mom and I both had souvlaki, and I had the octopus appetizer. The food was outstanding. Amazing. All the positive adjectives. There is trend in eating establishments that aggravates me, particularly when I'm dining with Mom. She's 91, and it's all she can do to get to a table. Asking her to stand at a counter, read a menu while standing, wait standing to put in an order, and making the trip to a soda dispensing machine is an exercise in unnecessary pain. I understand why you do this at McDonalds. Doing so at an otherwise nice restaurant is inexplicable. And this is what we had to do here. They were decent enough to let us take a menu to the table so that mom could make her choice pain free, but I ended up doing what a server is supposed to do......take her order and my order to the kitchen, schlep the menus back to the cashier, obtain pop from a fountain, and carry them back to the table. I was also expected to pay for the meal up front. I can't help but wonder if they thought I was going to try to sneak out without paying, or what. When I paid for the meal, the credit card machine "suggested" three different tip levels, all more than I thought was appropriate for a self service protocol. I drove cab for thirty years. I lived off of tips for thirty years. I am a generous tipper ordinarily, with a minimum of twenty per cent for traditional service. I'm not some cheap SOB.....far from it. That aside, when I have to take the order, schlep the beverages and the menu, and am compelled to pay in advance, a smaller tip is very much in order. With that in mind, seeing as how I had done half of the work that a server would ordinarily do, I opted for a ten per cent tip. That is the suggested tippage in restaurants with limited service. Unless the guides I have read are lying, this is appropriate. Getting back to the tip levels suggested by the credit card machine, the suggested levels were expressed in percentages; as I recall, 25 per cent, 22 per cent and eighteen per cent. The standard tip for full service is fifteen percent, so these choices offended me. There was a fourth option, OTHER. Since the suggested tippage was expressed in percentages, I entered 10 under the other option, expecting to add a ten percent tip. The goddamn thing dinged me for ten dollars, which would have been 30 per cent tip, more or less. Let's just say that I wasn't a happy camper. The cashier tried to make light of the situation, but I was NOT of a mind to let it go. The entire protocol was deceptive. I protested respectfully and firmly, and left for my table calm but internally agitated. A few bucks is not worth making a scene about. To their credit, the management later voided the transaction, and gave me the option to tip at a level I felt was appropriate. I appreciated that, and ended up giving a tip between ten and fifteen per cent. In review, the food was amazing....really good! The entire concept of self service in an otherwise nice restaurant left me cold. Make up you mind....are you McDonald's or fine dining? Maybe I'm just an old fart, but I'll be damned if I am going to tip extra generously when I have to do half of the work the wait staff should be doing, and the management suspects their guests may try to sneak out without paying. Heads up first time diners. Be prepared to order at a counter, pour your own beverages, and pay in advance. Pay extra attention to the paying process. It can trip you up, and suggests tippage in excess of the norm. Had this been a normal restaurant setting, all five stars would have been entirely appropriate. read more

Certainly understand that in this environment you need to be patient, but after an hour and a half after the posted pick up time for take out, we cancelled the order. Obviously they are over whelmed and prefer not to reach out to patrons and let them know things are running late. Further the staff is not trained to be transparent on when the order would be ready as we called multiple times and were told the order was on the way, when it was not true. My wife and I were very impressed with this place. We came for an early dinner on a Sunday night and it was not too busy. Ordering was painless and there was plenty of seating. This restaurant has a great vibe, drinks and food. Sometimes, the chicken comes over cooked but nothing out of the ordinary compared to other restaurants. My only complaint is that almost everything comes sprinkled with parmesan cheese, which is not listed on the menu under the ingredients. As someone who is lactose intolerant, this was mildly frustrating-- especially since I paid $20 for my meal. Online, there isn't an option to remove it either. If you order from here, I'd say to be safe ask about the details of each item on the menu. read more

Took forever to get after ordering... on a Sunday night with many empty tables... 50 minutes after ordering, calamari was fishy and like chewing a rubber band. Gyro meat was dry as a bone. Save your money, save your time... drive a mile west to Greek Express and get proper food (I have zero affiliation with GE... their food is delicious). Updating previous review. I notified the manager by email on April 21 in regard to our take out order placed April 20th. While our server was polite and helpful in placing and delivering our food to our car, she was not wearing a mask. This is concerning, during this pandemic, because she was less than 3' from the driver as she placed the food on the passenger seat. What is also concerning is wondering whether or not a mask/gloves were worn by the employee/employees preparing food. What is most concerning of all is the fact that the manager did not reply to my email regarding my concern.
