In town for a minute and I decked to stop at Culebra Cigars Company. Attached is Jimmy V's and was told I could smoke on the back deck, enjoy my cigar, a beer and some food. Got a nice cold draft and Apps. Twisted Feta and some fried shrimp. Asked to toss the shrimp in Buffalo which they were happy to do. Service was great and food was very good. Twisted feta was delicious and fresh. I think I missed out on some good menu items so I will return later for dinner. Must try!!!

Jimmy V's is an okay local bar. It has several locations around Columbus. The Grandview one is all right. It has a full selection of liquor. The food isn't all authentic Greek but it's okay. It bills itself as a bar and Greek grill. It does have gyros and hummus but most of the rest of the food seems to be of the greasy bar kind. The hummus appetizer is very good though. It's about $5 for the appetizer. The food isn't nearly as good as the cocktails. If you like greasy Greek you should go to Jimmy V's. It has some of the greasiest. They have a full liquor selection to wash it down with.

So, before you read this, go get you a drink and or use the restroom. I hate to cook anymore. With three different tastes in the house, its difficult to satisfy the taste buds of the two females in this household. To keep monotony down ( and me from cooking) we headed out again for dinner. So, when we sat down, the place was covid spaced and we were sitting front row , center stage just behind patrons at the bar. While we waited on our food by enjoying a tasty beverage (Hefeweizen), we were watching probably the worst strikeouts on getting a lady. this guy played every angle, and was met by a retort stopping him in his tracks. When i food arrived, as i gazed upon my option, barry white started playing. There is something about an egg on a hamburger. When the meat is perfect, and that egg is perfectly sunny side up, the crushing of the bun causes the egg to burst and run down all over it. (You can guess what part of "never gonna give you up" by barry white played when that happened). Thank you for the dinner show jimmy v, i know the show was accidental, but it made the night great. BTW, the waitress was grrrreat

Order of fries. A decent amount.

This greek bar is a name found all over town. Seemingly a neighborhood pub it specializes in food more than that of the sea fairing people of Socrates, it also has creative versions of regular bar food too. Like my bartender said, "People that comes here for drinks are missing out on the food." A long time name in Columbus, Jimmy V's is the original gastropub. Yet it still retain local pub ethics and style at its locations. This street-close 5th-by-Northwest branch is no different. There on West Fifth Avenue east of the railroad in that old area with buildings close to the street swinging midcentury signs and have boarded up theatre ticket boxes. The space is small really, but clean and inviting. It introduces itself with an easy-going environment. TV, a old but typical style bar counter, table seating orbit around. Americana icons posters are, rather without a good eye, slapped on the wall. A place to enjoy paninis, that grilled ciabatta bound sandwich from that other Mediterranean country of ancient lore. Out of Jimmy V's choice of six I selected the Cuban. ($9.99) The fushion of cuisines here caught my eye; the order was affirmed by my bartender who complimented the dish her favorite and orders it everyday, her favorite of the menu. House braised pork sholder intermixed with applewood smoked ham kicks this stuffed grill with juicy energy. The cheese, imported Swiss, wonderfully keeps pace with the stuffed meat. Add the bread, pressed in panini style, the sweet & spicy pickles, and the spicy mustard and you have a happy hour meal that meets the standard of Greek's, Italian's, and Cuban exile's standards. It was good and goes on my Friday HH list of possible eats. Draft beer selection is limited and mainstream. Service was done well by the one bartender. Jimmy V, though finding itself forgotten in the coming and going of restaurants, pubs, and styles is still a good pub that mix well with the neighborhood reveries.

Mass Club....enjoyed "last call" Mass at St Christopher's. Now dinner at Jimmy V's.

Meh....not crowded so service was decent. Ordered the salmon club w/ sweet potato fries. Some of the fries were still frozen. The salmon was cooked well. The bacon on the club was inedible. So hard, I couldn't cut or bite thru it. Had to take it off the sandwich. The slice of tomato was from the end, it was hard & mostly green. Had to remove the the tomato from the sandwich. Pretzel roll was good. I sooo want to like Jimmy V's; they never live up to my expectations.

Great neighborhood vibes and good food! The lemon chicken rice soup is my favorite amongst other things like the club, pretzels and burgers!

(It was clear she had serving experience though). She began by counting off numbers to match the bill with parent/child. I opted for the grilled walleye and was excited to see they had gluten free fries. The fried walleye was a HUGE serving that was definitely meant for sharing. The mozzarella sticks were a huge hit. The salads looked phenomenal and my daughter loved her burger. Now, when we got the bills it was mass chaos! The manager was very gracious in helping our server. I felt bad since she was so new. She really did a great job at handling so many orders among our 2 tables.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while but never found ourselves in downtown cbus until today…read more We saw a matinee show at the Ohio Theatre (highly recommend) and then walked over to Pat & Gracie's for a late lunch. Arrived approximately 3:30pm - restaurant basically empty (maybe 5 tables total occupied). Went to check in for 2 and the host said he had reservations at 5. Huh? So I asked do you mean you can't seat us until 5? And he said no, that we need to leave by then because other people are coming. I thought that was very weird and unprofessional. I've never had an experience like that before. It's a basic sit down place, why would you think we'd linger for more than an hour and a half? Whatever, weird feeling, but we were seated. Seated in the walkway. Not like in a path but literally blocking the walkway where you step down. Why do I say this? Because people walking by kept banging into me. Not their fault. Why is there a table there? And why were we seated there when at least 80% of the restaurant was empty???? Ok whatever. Ordered food including their signature made in-house tots. Waitress comes back and says they were slammed in the morning and they're out of tots. (Man I feel bad for the people coming at 5. LOL) whatever except the people at the next table appeared to be served tots. Food was tasteless. The Mac and cheese had a weird texture like the roux wasn't cooked properly. My patty melt was mostly bread as the patty was too small for the bread. My husband had the signature chimi burger and it completely lacked any chimichurri flavor. Like at all. We were out by 4ish (plenty of time for them to prepare for their expected onslaught) and needless to say I've unbookmarked this place from my yelp. Maybe we'll try the Mexican place across the street next time. ‍
